Who Attended The NYC Premiere?

Just saw a post in one of the MLP groups I'm in on Facebook - a fan has seen the film early at it's New York premiere (video footage of just when it's about to start and all, so it's authentic!) Anyone else go? What's it like; this user said she loved it and it's definitely worth the wait (VERY vague, but great to hear!)

Ah, that's a shame, and quite surprising. I wasn't expecting spoilers, but I'd have love to have read a review of it.

It does. It also sounds like it goes like I expected in terms of not being a massively earth shattering experience while still being a fun romp. The fact that it appears to end strongly is a reason to get excited.

Just the fact that the movie sounds enjoyable really is enough for me, and would meet my general expectations. As you said, "reason to get excited."

It also sounds a lot more action packed and violence orientated, which will both please many fans begging for this, and upset at least one individual here if not several more who really seem to like their MLP action free.

But it does sound like the movie is definitely going for that strong all around good animated picture vs. just trying to be "More of MLP on the big screen". A lot of films based on cartoons or other properties often just toss more of the same up on the screen (which can be both good and bad) making them feel more like a cop out than an film with an identity all their own. I like that it sounds like this one is willing to take chances and aim higher than bubbles and balloons to sell its themes. I am now much more interested in the film than I was before.

Although I still don't like the idea of Capper.

I did go into the Movie being prepared to hate the cat, and I did.

However, I was more upset about the Twilight Sparkle story than the new characters. Capper doesn't bother me.
