CastletonSnob 3,079 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 It really sucks living in Texas, where I don't get to enjoy four distinct seasons like everyone else. Wish I could move up north. What are seasons like where you live?

Cirrus. 1,090 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 Here in southeast Michigan we have all four seasons. In the spring and fall, sometimes 4 seasons in the same day. It's a big part of why our roads get so trashed. Also you're not missing anything not having winter. It's only fun for the first snow, then it gets old pretty quick. Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum. Scrubbed user 3,416 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 Here in Tennessee, it's hot one part of the year, and then cold the other part. There is barely an in-between.
Nine 707 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 I wish it was just late spring/early fall all the time. Hot is bad. Cold is bad. Winter is terrible and anyone who likes it should be put in stocks and made a public example of. Unfortunately I live in Ontario so we get all the real seasons. Pony Flutters 535 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 The places I've lived in, it's mostly just hot with barely any cool outside the winter, and even during winter it can sometimes still go up to 80 degrees F. It sort of annoys me when everyone keeps talking about the change of seasons when I can't experience any. I even legitimately believe that living in a place of constant heat is responsible for my lack of ambition and drain on my energy levels. It doesn't help that most of the world's problems come from constantly hot areas. 2 hours ago, Cirrus. said: Also you're not missing anything not having winter. Thuja 3,659 October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 I live in southwestern Ontario, Canada. The last two years have been a little unpredictable with the weather, 30 degree weather in the fall and 15 degree weather in the summer this year and last year there was a lot of mid 30 degree weather in the summer and barely any snow in the winter. Above that I really do love having 4 season weather.

Envy 6,192 October 4, 2017 Share October 4, 2017 A lot of people don't understand your pain, but I do. As I'm sure I've made a HUGE deal about over the last year, and before. But it was last year that it got so bad that it made me utterly depressed. After years of very weak winters one would think that I would be numbed to it, but that's not going to happen. Last year, to make matters worse it stayed hot into November. Over the years I had given up and accepted that fall didn't come until mid-October at earliest. I thought that was ridiculous. And then come "Fall" of 2016. It's hitting the mid 80s consistently in the middle of November. November is supposed to be nice and chilly. It's supposed to be the stereotypical fall weather that people always talk about looking forward to... But nope, it was hot. The trees hadn't really even changed, either. It was still almost as green as summer. In the middle of November. And then of course, the winter was nearly non-existent. I remember December having some chilly stretches, but then by the Winter Solstice it was hitting the 70s for highs. One more little chilly spell in early January with a dusting of snow, and then it was warm to hot for the majority of the rest of the "winter". This (alongside political reasons) makes me want to move faarrrr away for graduate school. Somewhere in the Northeast where Autumn, Winter, and Spring are still actually a thing. I wish I didn't have to leave my family, but I don't think my family could blame me anymore. 1 Everything needs more woodwind!

Also, the short, cold, and mostly cloudy gray days make me feel crappy. The only other place that I would want to move would probably be Arizona. At least snow only lasts a few months. As I noted in my last post - a lot of people just can't understand. People in general prefer the heat, Spring, and Summer. It is so deeply ingrained into our culture that warmer weather and seasons = happiness. It's very weird to feel the opposite, isn't it? It's as if our experiences and feelings are invisible. I certainly felt crushed last year when it stayed hot into November. I need seasons away from the heat. But we can't get that anymore. The air gets stale, humid, and super warm even during the winter now, as well. It really gets to me somewhere deep down, and makes me feel very down. And no one understands because culture in general thinks that hot, miserable weather is associated with happiness. I can see people wishing away winter when it's constantly cold and there is constantly snow on the ground. But what they don't understand is that in locations where this not only doesn't happen, but where winter is being reduced even more as each year goes by, there are people will be messed with by the lack of winter. How can one look forward to Spring, when no real winter comes before it to make a contrast? 1 Everything needs more woodwind!
Dreambiscuit 10,093 October 6, 2017 Share October 6, 2017 In Southern Cali it's warm in the summer and relatively mild the rest of the time. I don't miss the extreme cold because I used to live in the Northeast and it was brutal. Having four distinct seasons can be overrated. Anything below 50 degrees F is cold enough for me.

Treeglow Flicker 13,852 February 9, 2020 Share February 9, 2020 (edited) The UK seasons are divided up into different bits. You get the bit with the constant drizzle. The bit with the stagnant cold air. The bit with the rain and gloom. The bit with the freezing mist and fog. The bit where it is raining one minute and then sunny the next. The bit with more rain and drizzle. The bit with yet more freezing cold air accompanied by a lot of darkness. The bit with more gloom. But then you do get the bit that gives you about 1-4 weeks of hot weather which decides to make up for lost time and tries to cook you where you sit or stand.
