Well, what I had in mind was a story I read recently that featured that exact idea but it culminated in Smoldy and Sandy thinking Celly-bug died and the actual Celly-bug walking out of the bathroom.

Now I'm thinking about Celly-bug being displeased that the others are talking to her exoskeleton.

From what I've been told, "sad sandbar noises" start off with uncontrollable crying and diminishes down to sniffling/whimpering.
