To acknowledge the end this early would be acknowledging the leaks, which they most likely want to act as if they never happened.

It's not confirmed unless Hasbro says so. In fact, it hasn't been set in stone. It's best not to jump to conclusions and enjoy the current season we are in.

Probably because they weren’t planning to announce it yet. The leaks aren’t going to change that.

1-That info was leaked, so they don't wanna acknowledge it ever happened

2-We just started this season, I think it's still a little soon to announce it officially

3-All with the assumption they aren't greenlighting another season tho, which at this point it MAY be still possible

Nothing lasts forever. 

However they will most likely be working on other interests.

The ponies will probably return again a few years later as another reboot. Who knows.

What matters is the memories.
