Spoilers regarding Spike

As you can see, Spike as a winged dragon was unveiled just a few days ago.

Which means from this point on, Spike now has a bigger opportunity to have an episode with a winged pony. In this case, it's got to be Fluttershy, since she still hasn't overcome her fear of dragons since Dragon Quest. Spike can even help her befriend his dragon friend Ember, and the three of them can solve a friendship problem in the Dragon Lands.

A Spike/Rainbow Dash episode wouldn't work out because:

  1. It could be a risk of more bad characterization for Rainbow Dash (you remember what happened in Season 6 and Secrets and Pies, don't you?)
  2. Rainbow Dash has been relentlessly getting a lot of episodes in most seasons
  3. (this last one might not be a good excuse, but...) I do not want to see any more duo episodes for Rainbow Dash after 8 seasons

I know some of you want Spike/RD to come true, but let's be honest, I am NOT an RD fan, no joke there.

What. The. Fuck.

Spoilers to an upcoming episode in the post title, and with no spoiler tag as well. What is wrong with you?

What i'm worried about is that Spike's fire seems a lot more powerful now, which could potentially make him a lot more dangerous, if by accident.

More or less, it would more likely be Twilight, since she also has wings, and she initially didn't have as much control over them, but now she can use them like second nature, since it's been five years since she became a Princess.

Um, Twilight has appeared very frequently with Spike in a lot of her and his episodes in seasons past. Why not pair up with somepony else for a change?

Wouldn't the title still give away a pretty big spoiler that Spike has or is getting wings, only now people will know it's not some hypothetical question because it has spoilers tags therefore it must be an actual spoiler?

I dunno, he seemed already able to melt a humongous sized ice cloud into water in one burst in Equestria Games.

  • The title was changed to Spoilers regarding Spike

I don't see this change as being that big of a deal for Spike. Sure, he now has access to something that he didn't have before, but it's only going to change him slightly. He's sure to be the same character we've come to know for all these years but with a tweak.

Still, it's not everyday we see a permanent physical transformation in a slice of life show like FIM. We've seen changes of characters, status quo, expansion of the lore, but not as much of appearance changes. Sure, at this point most now see Twi as an alicorn considering she now spent most of the show as one, but back in the day, the fandom lost it's head when S3 finale promos showed Twi with wings, accentuated when the episode aired. It was seen as a big change and the ultimate form of development for the former nerdy unicorn. It's been over 5 years since, and this is merely the second time it happens.
