So my name is Caius. The meaning derives from Latin and means "Rejoice." It was a pretty popular name during the Roman times. Julius Caesar's actual name was "Gaius Julius Ceasar." Gaius and Caius basically were the same names then. So, how special are your names?:adorkable:

Apparently my name has something to do with a plant.  "Lauren" is derived from Latin, meaning "place of the Laurel leaves" :mlp_wat: I googled it and discovered Laurel, or Bay Laurel as it's sometimes called, is a large shrub/evergreen plant. It's leaves are used in cooking and stuff like that. I never knew that my name came from a common kitchen herb. :P

Oh, and my last name is very Portuguese. Literally right out of Brazil. :D My great-grandfather (on my dad's side) was Portuguese but his wife, who was my great-grandmother of course, was German. So I guess I have a little Portuguese AND German running through my blood. Not to mention my great-grandparents on my mother's side were German.

My name (Liam) was orignally the shortened down version of William...

William means "Elbow" or "Bagpipe Player" because the Irish play bagpipes with their elbows!

Yeah, my first name is very celtic in origin...

My last name (Turner) is a norman name and I do not know the meaning...

Yep, I am decended from Irish and a fair bit farther back French (still doesn't mean I speak the languages)

In English my name could either be a reference to brilliantly shining light or oak trees.

Cody came from Buffalo Bill Cody but my last name doesn't have a real meaning that I know of. It is very close to devil though so maybe I was cast up from the fires of hell. I have German in me from my mom's side along with a tiny bit of Dutch and my dad's side was given the choice after being kicked out of every country in Europe for horse theft, to either go to America or be executed. I've been told that while that part of the family was mostly German, there might be a little Irish in there, which explains my tint of red hair.

Oh... I haven't actually given you my name. But my actual name as of right now is Joseph.

" Joseph (/ˈzɪf, -sɪf/; Hebrew: יוֹסֵף‬ meaning "Increase",[2]Standard Yosef Tiberian Yôsēp̄; Arabic: يوسفYūsuf or Yūsif; Ancient Greek: Ἰωσήφ Iōsēph) is an important figure in the Bible's Book of Genesis. Sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, he rose to become vizier, the second most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh, where his presence and office caused Israel to leave Canaan and settle in Egypt. The composition of the story can be dated to the period between the 7th century BCE and the third quarter of the 5th century BCE, which is roughly the period to which scholars date the Book of Genesis."

This is what it means in the book of genesis at least. (quoted from Wikipedia)

Well, my name is Isaiah, I was named so after the Prophet Isaiah from the Old Testament, but I've read that name Isaiah means "Yah is salvation". Yah, or better known as Yahweh, was the God of the old Iron Age Kingdoms of Israel and Judah :o

I grew up thinking my name meant 'artistic'. I have no idea where that idea came from. Anywhere I look it up says it has roots in the ancient Roman Latin term for 'rival'. Kind of an odd name to give, given the meaning. Oh well.

My name, Oleksandr, is derived from the Greek "Ἀλέξανδρος" (Alexandros), meaning "Defender of the people", "Defending men" or "Protector of men", which has no influence on my life whatsoever. It is a relatively popular name in my country. Also, I hate it when people try to "translate" it and call me Alexander or Aleksandr.

My first, middle, and lat names come from three different continents.

My first name, Jonathan, comes from the Bible (and thus the Middle East) and means "gift from God."

My middle name comes from England and means "home settlement."

My last name is the corruption/shortening of a Native American name. Specifically, one from the Mohican tribe (yes, the same one that Last of the Mohicans is based on), who are originally from the New York area, but were pressured to move to Wisconsin in the 1820s and 1830s, where most of the tribe still is.

Mine is Natalie, from the Latin Natalia, which has lots of subtle variants on its meaning, but basically means 'Born at Christmastime' or 'Birthday of Christ.' Even though I was born December 5th I like having that connection.

Laurel was used to crown the victors in ancient greece and rome so your name probably also symbolises victory

my name is Rose, its the most cliche flower of them all so it doesn't really need much of an explanation
my last name is Tullius and it comes directly from ancient Rome (Cicero's full name was Gaius Tullius Cicero)
