But just as you don't wish to be labelled a 'blind fan' I don't want to be judged for 'complaining all the time'.

I see. So I guess I was the one who threw the first punch by saying "complaining all the time." So I see where I went wrong. I apologize.

Honestly, that's always been my problem with text only where I can't tell if you saying the message with anger, calmness, or some other emotion. So I suppose you can see how I misunderstood to begin with.

At least, I'm making progress in writing my posts more professional and calm. Right?

:)

2019 really is the year of endings, especially for me. It's not just the end of the many franchises listed and more, but personal things in my life have been ending. Chapters closing. I know it has nothing to do with the subject matter, but I've been running a wildly successful blog dedicated to sharing remixes of music from Sonic the Hedgehog. (There's a huge fan community at large!) There's a great many reasons why, but I can't keep running it forever. It's been up for less than a decade, but this year is the blog's last hoorah before I close it down. I hate to close it, but I just don't have time for it in my life anymore.

I’m surprised nobody has said Steven Universe. As for the other shows and movies aside from MLP, I’m not a fan, but other people were. Additionally that’s jobs lost when those shows go off the air, so I don’t revel in franchises coming to an end, because it’s surely hard on someone.

Maybe because it's not really ending? :) There's going to be a limited-run sequel series called Steven Universe: Future. This year was the end for the regular TV show, but not the end of the franchise.
And I never like to think of a show ending as the end of someone's career. More accurately, everyone is moving on to other things, and they may run into each other again down the line somewhere!

Really, despite many things ending, there were also some great things that began in 2019 as well. We should probably keep that in mind to help balance things out, just in case this topic is getting a little too melancholy.

The original Expanded Universe was diverse and didn’t always have the best guidance by the publisher’s board rooms, but they were more consistent than you’re giving them credit for. And the books, especially in the early days, were fresh, original and fun. I understand all too well why Disney put the EU under the banner of Star Wars ‘Legends.’ But it’s not so much out of a desire to bring uniformity to the work for the sake of art as it is a typical Disney maneuver to reshape Star Wars into something they could control and manipulate for highest possible profits. I’m well-versed in all things Star Wars and Disney, and my opinion (which didn’t even resemble a complaint) is well-founded, and preferable to blindly accepting and defending everything Disney does, right or wrong, just because I’m a fan. I do like some of Disney’s Star Wars books, but not nearly as much as some of the older stuff. Simple as that, no complaint, just opinion.

I guess it was a fine business decision since only like five of us really care but they replaced it with nothing. No plan, no attempt at a cohesive story, they thought they could just treat it as another Marvel. Superhero comics are just endlessly rebooted and remade. And honestly most people probably wouldn't have cared about that either but what they're making is JUST PLAIN SHIT!!!

Wait how long will this limited series run last?

And so this mean the movie was the series then?

As far as I know, there has been no confirmed episode count, but you can expect it to either be the size of one season or probably less then that.

SU: Future takes place after the events of the movie. It's a epilogue to everything. :)

The same could be said for MLP, though. The franchise isn’t ending, but it’s going to be a different show than the current one we know.

It’s cohesive in as far as promoting their own re-envisioning of the franchise, but not even remotely faithful to the real Star Wars at all. And I agree 100% that they’re treating it like another Marvel, with careful planning and calculation, but it isn’t working. I’m surprised that so many fans continue to accept it movie after movie because, like you said, they’re just plain sh:wau:t.

Eh... Yeah, but that's splitting hairs. G4 was its own thing, and people are going to miss that specific generation.

G5 is more exciting to look forward to if you're a fan of the franchise as a whole or if you're hoping it'll be better than (or just as good as) G4. A lot of fans are trying to hold on to optimism for the next generation, but there is no promises on how it will turn out right now.

I’m a bit surprised Kingdom Hearts wasn’t mentioned. Unless there’s like another sequel I’m pretty sure 3 was the finale. Any further spin offs don’t quite count as I’m talking about the man in series.
