I used this name because Rainbow Dash is my favorite character (obviously), and I felt that the Rainboom added a nice pun to it.

Initially I chose the name Durandal because of Marathon, a game by Bungie. In it there was an Artificial Intelligence known as Durandal who had undergone rampancy (the process through which an AI becomes a truly sentient being) without being destroyed in the process.

 

However, as I read into the name I realized that it was also the mythical sword of the paladin Roland during the Matter of France. I also discovered that it potentially came from the word durer, to endure. Given the number of connections that can be made to it, it stuck.

 

Oh, and I can play with my name a bit. Duri, Durpi, Durpi Hooves, Dura, Duran... It's very easy to shorten effectively. Don't get any funny ideas now, you hear?

So my nickname come from 3 things

 

Ghost: When I was young, some kids had fun bullying me, making fun of my pale skin. They used to call me vampire of ghost. and ghost remained lol.

Pony: It comes from my favorite animal, the horse, and since "pony" look better than "horse" I took pony. Also, my favorite kind of muscle cars are the pony cars, Mustangs and Camaros. It also come from my favorite pokemons, Ponyta and Rapidash, and from, obviously, MLP.

750: A random number, I have sincerely no idea, but I use it everywhere.

The Blue comes from the fact that my OC (wich didn't exist back then) would be blue, because I just like the colour.

 

The Bay part comes from the fact, that if anyone has got a problem and needs my help I'd function as a "safe bay", means I won't reject anyone who is in need of my help.

Also "bay" describes an auburn hue, and since an old german saying to calm an outraged horse says "Ruhig Brauner" (Calm down bay) it seemed like an appropriate double synonymto me, I just used it.

Why did I choose my username, eh? 

 

Ok... let me tell you this secret. 

 

There is character called Dark Rainbow in my book. His favourite colour is scarlet. But it's not just colour for him. Scarlet is... hmm... something very important. Everytime when he lookes at blood(yeah... blood is scarlet, right?) he is thinking about every things he did in his all life. Basically he is only being existing in Rainbow's body. He can be in his own body, but when he do it(goes into his body), he makes many problems. Rainbow let him do that, but rarely. 

 

Can you try imagine what does he feel? Alone, in darkness. He is just soul in Rainbow's body. He can't do anything except looking at the world by Rainbow's eyes. 

 

Scarlet is the colour which reminds him, who is he. Scarlet is colour of blood. His favourite action is killing(and annoying Rainbow :3).

Scarlet is the colour which shows him that he is still Rainbow's friend and pegasus. He is still alive.

 

That's why I chose "Scarlet". Dark is my favourite character. And Scarlet is a colour which let us both save the humanity.

Long story.

 

So my first internet pseudonym was 'Koach', which was the name of an NPC in the spanish dubbed version Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre, a videogame for the PS2.

 

in 2010, and out of sheer boredom, I made a gameplay video of a source mod called Battle Grounds II, and somehow a classmate of mine found it. Given the name I had there, he began calling me that.

 

Then the entire classroom called me that. Including teachers and even the rector himself.

 

Halfway  through 2011, this one girl began calling me 'Kochi', as some sort of pet name. After months of hearing that, I changed the name from 'Koach' to 'Kochi'.

 

Finally, a few months ago a clanmate showed me this series called 'Hornblower', which told the story of a young officer in the British Royal Navy. In that series, one of the main character's superior officers was called 'Lieutenant Bracegirdle'. I found the odd last name quite amusing, and so I adopted it.

 

As for the 'Mr' part, well, I am a gentleman.

One night, in mid April 2012, my sister, cousin and I were all hopped up on chocolate and caffeinated soda, making fun of the generation of MLP we all grew up on. My cousin brought up the seemingly hilarious idea to watch an episode for a nice long laugh. We did, but before we got more than a few minutes into it, a related video had something that caught our eyes. A well drawn pony? Was it possible? MLP got better animation? We unanimously decided to watch the episode Applebuck Season. I personally was amazed by the animation. I had never before seen a little kid's show with such wonderful story boarding, character build up, and design. (I guess I kind of decided to also explain how I became a brony xD)

 

Flash forward two months.

 

We were all hopped up on sugar again, after we had all joined the Forums. I was thinking about changing my name. My cousin later came up with this question; If you had to name yourself after something a pony owned, what would you name yourself? I loved Octavia, so I answered Octavia's Cello. My sister said Party Cannon.

 

Flash forward another while. Not sure how long this stretch was.

 

I saw Pinkazoid's little Zoid bandwagon thingy. I thought it was silly, and it was annoying at first. I can quote myself; "I will never join the Zoid bandwagon. It's stupid." Well, a short while later, I changed my mind, and changed my name to Octavia's Cellozoid.

My story actually isn't that interesting. Back when I watched the movie Rio when it came out, I thought the lizard named Waffles was cute. Usually my usernames on stuff were extremely forgettable, and I would have a different name for each site I used, sooo... I decided I would start to use Waffles as my username on stuff. Then, I noticed that username was taken most of the time. I thought of a creature I really liked, and dragons popped into my head. Thus, WaffleTheDragon was born. However, when I joined these forums, I decided to ponify my username. And WafflePony just stuck.

Well its quite simple really. I chose my username because, as my avatar suggests, I am a fan of Cranky Doodle Donkey (and donkeys in general) and I'm not always the cheeriest fellow around. I usually tend to find something I can feel strongly or vocal about. 

 

So instead of calling myself "Cranky" outright, I replaced the 'r' with a 'w' to make the word and name sound more playful. Kinda like how you have Squiddy instead of Squidward. I'm actually not that cranky of a person, its just a persona I'm more comfortable representing myself with.
