Samurai gladly lets Shadow out of his arms, and holds up his hoof. "Easy, Kronos. She was the one I mentioned earlier, the one I said was following us." ... Samurai looks at Shadow. "That's right, I knew. You don't fight ninjas as long as I have and without develop a sense for these things." Samurai faces Kronos again. "Anyways, she's also invited to the party. And as for what she broke, I'll cover it. No problem." He continues his leave of the hotel. "...Coming?" Samurai asks them both.

@CameoShadowness

Trilby is taken aback. The rest of her language was a little tough to understand, but he heard that first word loud and clear. "Hero? N-no, I... I'm no hero. Just a friend." Trilby says, offering a smile. Before he puts his hat back on, Trilby offers Beryl the space behind his ear. "Why don't you sit there? That way, you can still poke your head out and watch the race, and my hat will keep you from getting blown away." Trilby explains. "By the way, my name is Trilby Hatter."

Decor scoffs when he is both ignored and given a raspberry by Pastel. For now, he just goes back to racing regularly.

Somehow, knowing that this is the final lap, it somehow feels shorter. Having going through this lap twice now is enough for anypony to memorize it, not to mention all the racers are now as desperate as possible.

And what Astral, Pencil, Pastel, and Dynamo are all friends; they know there can be only one winner...

@ExplosionMare @Dynamo Pad @Pastel Heart

Astral briefly looked to the sides, seeing how far he and Pencil had come in this race, and how fired up the rest of the contestants were. It was incredible for the unicorn to be a part of such a grand community event, but he knew there could only be one victor.

"Pencil, you're doing great! Just keep focused on protecting the kart, and you could get us the win!"

With his inner competitive spirit burning brightly, Astral was determined to help make their team victorious. Dynamo and Pastel had been stupendous in the race thus far, and had done especially well on keeping mean ol' Daring Decor in check.

"Dynamo! Pastel! You've been great opponents! Best of luck in the final lap, and no hard feelings whoever is declared victorious!" Astral shouted to the friendly team.

At the mention of Twilight, the gamer pony turned his attention towards the pony sitting next to the group. "T-Twilight? As in, Princess Twilight Sparkle? I haven't met her in person, but I have heard stories." He raised an eyebrow as the mare gave them a plan. Dynamo couldn't help in gasping as the name Haycart was mentioned. "Haycart? You mean you know about Haycart's method too? I mean, I don't know much, but I did get a book from my old mentor once. He's an earth pony, but he gave me a book for me to keep, before I left Fillydelphia. In it, the book mentioned about some spells and laws, but it also had some things about teleporting yourself into books and such. I-I've been studying one method, but I haven't had the opportunity to put that method into practice." He smiled sheepishly with a blush upon his cheeks. He shook his head rapidly as he knew this wasn't the time for reminiscing. "I want to, but the truth is, I've recently discovered what kind of magic I have. I'm not really the best when it comes to magic due to how my horn is curved." He closed his eyes, still feeling embarrassed to admit such a thing. He took a deep breath and sighed. "E-Even so, I still...I still want to try. There's not much else we can do now, right? If you're willing to give this a chance, then so am I." He saw the sincere and warm look in the mare's eyes. He smiled softly as he knew there was no deceit or mistrust. She was telling the truth and her brave smile was all he needed to at least try. "Okay. So, what do we need to do, Miss...?" He asks, hoping to get her name so he could give his name in kind.

"I-I-I Imagine that you-you're going to l-land softly and safely on the gr-gr- ground", said Bluebell. " Do th-th-that n-now.  Keep that at-at the f-front of your mind.  Wh-When I say so, release your magic. It will feel like your l-lost for a moment, but don't p-p-panic, just keep th-thinking about the landing and c-c-c-crossing the fi-fi-finish line."

She turned to Pastel.  "You n- n- need t-to focus on that, t-too.  I'm going to c-cast an extra protection spell over you-you. It-it will feel un-uncomfortable, but on-on my honor as a member of the r-royal court, I will d-do everything I-I-I can to k-keep you safe."  Bluebell's horn took on a soft blue glow.  "I n-n-know that you l-l-l-love your friend v-very much. K-Keep your mind on that, also.  It-it will help you m-m-more than you n-know."  She gently touched her horn on Pastel's mane. A magical aura grew and wrapped firmly around Pastels body.

"Okay! N- n- now!", Said Bluebell, "Release your magic!"

A skinny orange beam slowly rose high from Dynamo's horn.  Bluebell was going to have to aim carefully to catch it, which is hard to do in a flying kart.   She took aim, and then a blue beam climbed out of her horn.  All she needed to do was strike the top of the orange one.   The ends of the two beams danced turbulantly around each other.  "H-h-Hold it s-steady m-my friend", she said, "I-I-I'm a-almost th-th-there."

Closing her eyes and almost contorting herself, Bluebell made a mighty effort.  The end of the blue beam slowly split in two, and as soon as she saw the chance, she wrapped one end around the orange beam.  "Aaaaaah!", she screamed, being jerked violently back and forth.  She braced herself to the kart. determined not to let go.  She then slowly guided the other end towards it's target.  One last push...

The ends of the orange and blue beams collided with one another with a huge flash and a mighty boom. A large blue bubble began to form and descend on their kart.  The bubble finally sealed itself around them.  She felt the kart start to slowly float down form underneath her.

"Oh-oh, b-b-b-by the way, m-m- my name is-- b-b-Bluebell."

The next thing Bluebell saw was the blue sky above her, and she felt the cool ground under her back.  She looked over to one side and saw the finish line a short distance away.  She breathed a sigh of relief; this was the first major-league spell she cast that actually worked.  She started to right herself so she could stand up, but then she felt an excruciating stabbing pain in her right foreleg.  She screamed and grimaced.  "Oh, b-b-bother!" , she said, I've f-f-fallen and I c-c-c-can't get-get up!"  That was the catch to this kind of spell; in order to safely land the others, she had to magically absorb part of the impact, and the possible injuries that went with it.  She tried using her other three legs to drag herself form the middle of the track.  Just before passing out, she heard voices in the distance, calling to her.

" Don't try to move!  We're coming!"

@Astral Vision

Pencil was sad to see Astral go once again. Before he left, she quickly told him,

“Just be careful doing whatever you need to do! Don’t burn yourself out!”

Pencil turned her attention back to the race and did what Astral suggested earlier. She tried to put up a force field, but realized very quickly her magic wasn’t strong enough for that. She instead put her magic behind the wheel and allowed her hooves to protect her from whatever might come her way. At the moment there was nothing to worry about, but being the final lap, something was bound to strike last-minute. Pencil had to be precautious from now until she crossed the finish line.

@Ragland Tiger @Dynamo Pad @Pastel Heart

A loud noise sounded from a far off part of the track. The noise scared Pencil and caused her to jerk the kart around for a few seconds. Her goggles had slipped a bit in the process. She took a panicked breathe as she adjusted them and looked behind herself. Whatever had occurred was too far away for her to see, but she could just barely make out Dynamo and Pastel in the distance.

“H-Hey Dynamo, Pastel! What was that noise? Everypony ok?” she cried, concerned the sound had involved one of the racers.

Pastel wasn't sure what to say after that, so she just smiled, as sweetly as she could; like she was giving him wordless assurance that everything was okay. Unlike before she seemed heartfelt and serious.

@Ragland Tiger

Seeing Dynamo and Bluebell getting along so well so quick made Pastel feel odd. Jealousy, maybe? She was visibly pouty. Whatever plan they planned was fine as long as she could do her thing. She had to push it to the limit and walk along the razors edge, she thought! She smiled widely and nodded, all in with the plan!

@Samurai Equine

Daring Decors threats didn't set well with Pastel. She brattily stuck her tongue out at him before turning away towards her friends.

Dynamo looked back at Pastel, who was smiling as sweetly as she could. Just seeing her smile was enough to put his worries at ease. True, the group was in a situation at the moment, but he knew they would possibly make it through this situation. As he looked back to the other mare in preparation to work together on the spell. Dynamo had clearly missed the pouting that Pastel had upon her face. He thought he heard the sound of a raspberry as Pastel stuck her tongue out at Daring Decor. He couldn't help in chuckling slightly at Pastel's antics. "There's no need to act like that, Pastel-chan. If there's one thing I know, it's that I definitely believe in karma. Maybe karma will come back to get comeuppance, or something like that. He's the least of our worries since we have to land this cart."

Bluebell hiccuped again, and a gaudy yellow lightning bolt burst from her horn and struck a small cloud. The cloud turned dark and began to flash and thunder.  It quickly hovered over Daring Decor - and started raining banana peels on him.

"Oh, d-d-dear-dear!", said Bluebell. Then leaned over the side and called out, S-s-s-sorry!"

As they were on the final lap, Dynamo felt like the last lap would go by quickly. There weren't many shortcuts or a long track ahead of them. Everyone in the race was going to pull all of the stops in order to claim victory in the race. However, it seemed that everyone was a little desperate in the beginning or even in the middle of the race. Dynamo didn't waste as much magic as some, but he would be sure to make the most of this with what he could do now. The gamer pony's ears perked as the sound of a lightning bolt bursted from the mare's horn. He ducked slightly to get out of the bolt's path, before it struck a small cloud. From said cloud that hovered over Daring Decor, a bombardment of banana peels was raining upon him. Dynamo had to withdraw a laugh as Daring was in a situation of his own. "At least you apologized." Dynamo says towards the mare. "Plus, I did kind of say that karma would catch up to him. I guess that counts, but that doesn't seem too bad. One could say he'll have a lot of potassium to stay healthy. If he slips on a banana peel, then that's how own fault. Since the rules state that items and such could be used indirectly." He held up a hoof as if giving a thumbs up. "Also, I'm sorry if you are having some hiccups. If we had a glass of water, then I'd say that would help. If not, then the trick I use is to hold my breath for a bit, then slowly let the breath out." He would say, trying to help out a potential new friend.

"Bluebell!  Bluebell! Don't try to move!  We're coming!"

Getting back to the task at hoof, Dynamo nodded as he slowly closed his eyes. Picturing and imagining himself and the mare landing the cart safely and softly upon the ground. He took steady breaths as he kept the image fresh in his mind. He had learned that his magic was in the form of video games, but he hoped that the spell the mare had mentioned would work. He closed his mind out to everything, except for landing the cart. He nodded as the mare would give the warning to release the magic. His horn started to glow as he charged enough magic to match the spell ratio. Upon hearing the signal to let go, Dynamo opened his eyes and released the magic. An orange beam of light had been launched as his magic had melded together with the mare's blue beam of light.

As the beams of light danced around one another, Dynamo gritted his teeth as he tried to keep the spell under control. He squinted one eye as he felt a bead of sweat trickle down the side of his face. The strain was agonizing, but it wasn't foreign to the gamer pony. He always had trouble like this whenever he practiced magic with help from his mother. As he felt his magical hold slipping, his body twitched slightly as he heard the mare's words. Even though they had just met, even though they were in a situation. She had called him her friend. Dynamo wasn't sure if it was on impulse or if those words were true, but Dynamo knew he couldn't just give up now. With one last shout, a bright flash of light enveloped the trio, before a large blue bubble began to form over their cart. Dynamo collapsed as he leaned on the steering wheel with a pant. He understood the spell wasn't easy, but he didn't think he'd feel so drained from keeping the magic intact. He was feeling drained of magic, but it was worth it that the spell was successful. The bubble soon gliding down towards their destination of the track. All the while, making sure to hit the gas pedal once they landed to make their way back into the race. His ears perked slightly as he heard the mare mention that her name was Bluebell. Turning his head slightly towards her, he gave a small smile and nodded. "T-Thank you and it's nice to meet you, Bluebell. My name is Dynamo Pad, but you can call me Dynamo. This is my friend, Pastel Heart." He would say, introducing Pastel as he didn't want to leave her out.

Upon landing, Dynamo hit the gas pedal as they were finally back in the race. His small smile turned into a grin as he wanted to cheer to Bluebell. However, as he turned back to her, she was nowhere to be seen. "B-Bluebell? Where did she go?" He wondered, before receiving his answer as he heard someone screaming in pain. He slowly glanced behind him to see Bluebell was dragging herself from the middle of the track. He wanted to go back and make sure that she was okay, but stopped as he thought he had heard other voices calling out to Bluebell. With a regretful look in his eye, he knew they had to keep going. "Bluebell, thank you for the help! I promise that Pastel and I will come back for you! Stay safe until then, my friend!" The gamer pony stepped on the gas as he started catching up to Astral and Pencil.

I guess you can say that. A bit of magic went out of control, before Pastel, myself and a new friend of ours almost went into orbit. We were able to get out of the situation and I was somehow able to perform the spell, but it wasn't easy to be honest. Unless you are mentioning about the other racers, then kind of. Our friend had managed to make a sort of thunder/lightning cloud. It unintentionally went over to Daring Decor as it began to rain banana peels upon him. Looks like he and the other racers might have a lot of fun slipping and sliding." He chuckled slightly. He wasn't sure if he and Pastel would take first, but he could only hope that he could finish the race. He was just happy that he could try and have fun with participating in this event with his friends. All the while, making more friends along the way.

Pastel smiled and waved frantically as she was introduced, everything was happening so fast that it was hard to keep up-- she was cool, she thought... Wait, SHE WAS IN THE ROYAL COURT!? her jaw dropped, so many questions so little time!

Despite not knowing any magic at all, being an earth pony, Pastel focused too. There was no hesitation. She would never be the magical girl she wanted to be, as she wasn't even a unicorn, but if she had just a little bit inside her, she hoped it would be enough for a landing that doesn't result in casualties.

She bounced up as they landed, eyes popping open to see they were one pony missing. Looks like Bluebell made a heroic sacrifice for their sake. She had to thank her later. She waved off the side of the kart.

"Your sacrifice won't be forgotten! See you on the other side, fair maiden~!"

@Astral Vision @ExplosionMare

Pastel waved ahead with her usual vigor, signifying everything was okay as can be!

"Not dead yet! Comin closer too~!"

She looked to Dynamo with a smirk that would make Sonic the Hedgehog look unamused.

"Gonna step on it~? Let's make it a photo finish! Uh, the movie thing, not the photographer."

@Dynamo Pad

Pencil gave Dynamo a weird look. Apparently a lot had just happened in a small amount of time and Pencil wasn’t able to comprehend any of it. Shrugging, Pencil just gave Dynamo a small nod and tried to put the chaos out of her mind. What was he saying, anyways? Something about bananas, a cloud, orbits...

No! Don’t think about it! she mentally screamed.

Pencil nearly succumbed to her bigness weakness: overthinking. If she let her mind dissect every little detail from unimportant situations like this, she may lose focus entirely and drift off course again. She couldn’t cruise, not until the race was officially over. She let her engine roar a couple of times, hoping the noise would block out the internal noise in her mind.

@Pastel Heart

Pencil heard the giggles of Pastel and saw that her and Dynamo’s kart was catching up once again. The sounds of their tires hitting the dirt track grew louder and louder as each second passed. Pencil Pouch knew she would need to act now if she was going to prevent them from passing.

Conjuring up the last bit of spell magic she had, Pencil wrapped bits of exterior kart metal together and fused them with exhaust from the engine. Pencil grunted heavily as she formed the object of her final defense. It had nearly fallen apart as Pencil’s magical grip began to loosen, but she was thankfully able to readjust her grip and finish her creation.

Pencil held up her creation proudly, panting from exhaustion and the weight of  the object. It was a bomb and a purple one at that. It wasn’t industrial enough to hurt anypony, but it could propel a kart pretty far. Tactfully, Pencil put the bomb to the exhaust fumes then hooked it underneath her kart. She could hear it fizz loudly from underneath the vehicle.

Let’s see if they can pass this! she thought excitedly.

Pencil began to sweat in anticipation the louder the bomb got. She clutched her hooves on the wheel and arched her back in preparation. As it was about to explode, Pencil began a countdown.

“Six, five, four, three, two, one...” she whispered, her voice getting softer and more strained the more she counted. Finally, as she reached the last number, the bomb had finally exploded.

BBBOOOMMM!!!

Like a mad pegasus, Pencil was flying through the air at full speed. She screamed a bit while she was up there, partially afraid and partially joyful. Her kart continued to soar, but not without picking up speed. It picked up so much speed that Pencil had to think about how she was going to land.

I don’t think this will work, but I have to try something!

Pencil stomped on the gas petal as she fell closer and closer towards the ground. Finally, with a resounding bang, she made it there. The blow from the impact shook her and the kart badly, but stepping on the gas allowed for great recovery time. Pencil continued to speed down the track, her mane a mess and covering half her face. Her driving was a bit jerky until she thought to push her mane out of her face.

“That was crazy! I really exploded down the track!” Pencil cried, laughing internally at what she just said out loud.

@Kronos the Revenant, @Windy Breeze ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Confident that peace had been made, Samurai is the first one out of this swanky hotel. It's a nice place to be, but it's just not for him.

It takes a moment, but Samurai manages to make it to the sidelines near the finish line. And just in time too, the race is almost over!

@CameoShadowness

From a different location, Trilby also watches the race with his new friend, making sure that she and his hat are safely on his head. "Beryl. Am I saying that right? Well stick with me, and I won't let you get harmed." As they watch the race, they can tell that this is the final moments. "Oh Celestia... I wonder who is going to cross that finish line!" Trilby says with anticipation.

@Ragland Tiger, @ExplosionMare, @Astral Vision, @Dynamo Pad, @Pastel Heart

Every team and racer was doing their best!
Some were vying for the best position they could get.
Daring Decor was almost about to tie with Dynamo and Pastel, until something involving banana peels makes him swerve violently in many directions. "MIRTHLY!!!" He's covered in head to toe in them, and he managed to keep his kart from slipping on any, but somehow he ended up in last place AGAIN!

From magic feats to secret weapons, every racer was pulling out ALL the stops.
However, when Pencil pulls out her ace in the hole and uses a bomb to give her a speed boost, the entire competition is over. Because that trick boosts her and Astral all the way to the finish line!

They did it! They crossed first!

@Emerald Heart, @Buck Testa

Throughout the radio, news broadcasts were coming in about how the race is over. Even patients in a hospital are allowed to listen to this event play out. The commentators say that Pencil and Astral were the first to cross the finish line. However, because of some unexpected developments, the judges will have to make some rulings in private before they can officially announce the winner. Still, for the moment, we know who has crossed first. Crossing the finish line second is Dynamo and Pastel, followed by Heavy Bucket, followed by... etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

At the sidelines, Samurai Equine was on the edge of his metaphorical seat, but when Pencil and Astral finish, he gladly cheers and leaps for joy for them. Honestly, Pencil was driving so fast, it's a wonder how she managed to pull over after a speed boost like that.

Once all the racers have cleared the finish line and have come to a complete stop, Samurai hops onto the race course and runs towards the winners. "PENCIL!! ASTRAL!! YOU WERE AMAZING!! YOU WON!!!"

Meanwhile, Trilby Hatter watches the race finish up with Beryl, watching from a different, safer location. "WOW! What a rush... So exhilarating! Did you see that, Beryl? Those winners are customers of mine." He looks up at her. "Do you want to go meet them? I was going to try and sell some last minute merchandise, but I can take a quick break and introduce you to them first if you want."

@ExplosionMare @Samurai Equine

Astral gasped at the purple bomb's manifestation; never before had the unicorn seen such magic performed by a non-alicorn pony, other than himself. The kart launched into the air like a rocket, blazing past the other racers at breakneck speed. Surely the kart would have burst apart from so much force, but it held together long enough for the two to reach the finish line! Pencil had done it, she had won the race for them!

"Pencil.. That was INCREDIBLE! You were amazing, great job!" Astral heartily declared while smiling from ear to ear, soon laughing in happiness at their victory.

Beryl giggles. "Yup." Nuzzled in, Beryl watched all the competitors. She started feeling her heart race as she continued on. "diz is crazy." She mumbled.

Hearing the explosion made Beryl instinctively duck. She looked around and saw the cart flying through the air. "iz dat supoz to hafen?!" She gasped.

Shadow silently followed Samurai as she walk 3 meters beside Kronos (Social distancing reference, hah!) she was going to thanks Samurai for 'saving' her and she owe him an expensive vase for trying to ensure his safety. She was glad it wasn't Trilby that is in Samurai's place, she would never forgive Kronos if the haderdasher got involved.

@Astral Vision @ExplosionMare

Dynamo looked back to Pastel, who had bounced from the landing of their cart. "Are you okay, Pastel-chan? You're not hurt, are you?" He asks, showing care and concern for his friend. He chuckled at Pastel's remark of Bluebell, before nodding in agreement. "You're right about that. We won't let Bluebell's sacrifice be in vain. We're just about to reach the finish line. So, there's no giving up now!" He would say as he drove onward towards their goal. "You don't have to tell me twice! If we're gonna finish this race, then it has to be a photo finish." He called out to Pastel as he began riding up towards an item box.

@Pastel Heart

Just as Dynamo and Pastel were about to pass Astral and Pencil by, Dynamo had taken notice of an item being held in Pencil's magical grasp. He wasn't able to make heads or tails on the matter, but he soon took notice of a ticking sound. 'Oh, no.' He thought in worry as he frantically began to shout. "They've got a Bob-Omb! I've always to say that." He chuckled, before remembering the situation the duo were in. The gamer pony had received his last item before the finish line, but he wasn't sure if using the item now would protect them against Pencil's item. He decided to slow down briefly, so as to not get into the bomb's blast radius. As the item exploded, Dynamo's jaw dropped as Astral and Pencil began to rocket down the track like a rocket. "Oh, so it's like that, eh. Well, I guess if you can't beat em', then you star them. Hold on tight, Pastel-chan. This might be a bumpy ride." He warned her as he held up the Power Star. Once activated, Dynamo and Pastel's cart was covered in a rainbow veil as their vehicle began picking up the pace. "Wahoo! Let's a go!" He would exclaim like a certain video game character. Just as they were about to catch Pencil and Astral's cart, the effects of the power star ended. They were close, but the race ended up ending in Astral and Pencil's victory.

@Pastel Heart @Astral Vision @ExplosionMare @Ragland Tiger @Samurai Equine

Dynamo's ears perked as he heard the sound of the other racer's making their way towards the finish line. With a sigh, Dynamo smiled softly. "Oh, well. I guess you can't win them all, huh?" He'd ask as he looked back to Pastel. While they didn't win, Dynamo did have a fun time participating in the race. Despite the few times that the race got a little out of control. He looked back to Astral and Pencil as he parked their cart. "Hey, Astral! Pencil! That was a fun race. Congratulations on the victory!" He exclaimed, while hoping that he could chat with them after the race. He had to admit that he was still a little upset at almost getting attacked by their green shells, but he felt there had to be a reasonable explanation at the end of the day."

After what seemed like lasted two weeks, it was over.

Second place wasn't too bad, Pastel thought. Even if they didn't win, she had fun. She giggled and hugged Dynamo.

"That was totally nuts! We should do it again sometime! Can we go get juice when we leave the track!? Please please~?"

Pastel was cheerful despite the loss, wanting Dynamo to spoil her like always. The light that reflected in Pastels eyes was childish but affectionate; this one would never change.

Dynamo sighed as he placed his chin atop the steering wheel. He closed his eyes briefly as he was still feeling tired from the spell that he and Bluebell used to land the cart. He soon felt himself being enveloped into a hug by Pastel. He opened his eyes and glanced behind him with a chuckle. "You can say that again. It actually felt like we were playing Mario Kart, but more along the lines of an actual race. I might be up for another race like this in the future." At the mention of getting juice, Dynamo rolled his eyes playfully, before nodding. All the while, ruffling Pastel's mane playfully. Seeing the light shine in her eyes caused an infectious smile to form upon his face. "Sure and no problem. I might go and get some cola instead of juice, but we can definitely do that once we leave the track, Pastel-chan."

With the racers getting out their karts and enjoying a moment to relax, the various pit crews are building a ceremonial stage with 3 step podium.

@Astral Vision, @ExplosionMare, @Dynamo Pad, @Pastel Heart, @Ragland Tiger

While Samurai was congratulating Astral and Pencil, he sees his other two friends as well. "Ah! Dynamo, Pastel. You both did great as well! I wish I could have run this race with you all, but circumstances got in my way. I'll explain later." Samurai explains, then looks around. "Why do I get the feeling that someone was here before? I've been getting this feeling all day today..." Samurai says.

It isn't long until an announcement comes over the loud speakers:

ATTENTION ALL RACERS! PLEASE REPORT TO THE STAGE FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY. PLEASE REPORT TO THE STAGE FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY.

@CameoShadowness, @Windy Breeze

Trilby was also a little shocked that a racer used a bomb as a speed boost, but quickly laughs it off. "I can't say for sure. This is the first kart race this town has ever had. Let's hope that it doesn't become a regular thing." Trilby says. With the race over, all the racers and staff are all over the finish line area. With this in mind, there's too many potential dangers. Getting close might not be best for a breezie. Trilby walks off in a different direction. "We'll meet up with the winners a little later, I promise. I think they're having a party in a safer location. For now... Would you like a snack or something? My treat." Trilby says. At the same time, he keeps an eye out for Shadow Trail, wondering where she is right now and what she's up to.

Beryl gasped. "I weetnis virz pony kort race?!" She clapped her tiny hooves. She got to witness a major event in history- at least this town's history and she was super excited despite how childish it seemed.

image.png.e5a863255d80306ea5f8a78e31b29482.png

She paused and realized how excited she got and became really silent. She blushed and looked around hoping no one else would notice what she said, she doubted anyone understood her but it would still be embarrassing to know other folks heard her. To derail her excitement she thought back to what the stallion was saying. "Uh... Snaq? ye."

For a moment she paused thinking back to the race again, as a historical moment this had to be documented, she wanted to see how long it takes the libraries or other sources to document this. "Yo got a lybreeri?" She ask. "News otlit?" She wanted to make sure the history was well documented, even tempted to document it herself. She even began taking mental notes of the plants they were passing by to see what she can use to make into paper and ink. In reality there wasn't much she recognized but she was hopeful there would be some she can use.

Pencil greeted Samurai at the end of the finish line. Despite losing the race due to his kart breaking down, he still seemed very happy for her and Astral’s victory.

“Hey, Samurai! I’m sorry you lost about halfway, but thanks for congratulating us! The race was a lot of fun, we should do it again sometime! Maybe next time we’ll all be a little less aggressive, heh...”  she mentioned to him.

@Windy Breeze

Another pony trotted up to her, a light blue pegasus that she was certain she saw at least once around town. She seemed to be struggling with Pencil’s name, so Pencil said,

“I-It’s Pencil...h-have we met before? I might have s-seen you around somewhere...”

Pencil conked herself on the head. Her social skills were slipping and she was in no way appreciative of it. Quietly, she scooted away from the mare after a brief exchange and went to look for somepony familiar. Perhaps seeing a friend would make her social skills go back up.

@Dynamo Pad

After wandering for some time, Pencil spotted Dynamo Pad. She walked over to him and said,

“Great job, you guys! That was a pretty close race. I think that was a lot of fun, just racing with you guys!” Pencil smiled, but only for a moment. It was not long until she remembered the shell incident. Was Dynamo still upset about it? Regardless of his stance on it, Pencil spoke up about it.

“Do...do you wanna talk about before? You know, with the shell?” she murmured. The guilt still ate at her, even if what she had done was unintentional. It would most likely benefit them both if they talked this over so they could move on. After all, nopony was seriously injured.

(Before Pencil scoot away)

Shadow smiled... and broke the fourth wall “Oh, I'm not Windy, ExplosionMare” before looking back at Pencil. To everyone, Shadow would look as if she was talking to no one “Nice to meet you Pencil. I'm Shadow Trail, a freelancer photographer from  Haytona city no more” she joked “It's so nice to meet another artist”

(After Pencil scooted away)

Pencil bumped into Keen Fan, who was technically lost since she's new to Friendshire. Keen dropped her. Saddlebag from the 'crash' “Ow, my head” she moaned.

Bluebell heard the sounds of other ponies quietly talking.  She slowly opened her eyes. she couldn't see very well without her glasses on. She could tell that she was in a soft bed.  She looked around her and spied what looked like her glasses on a table bedside.  Bluebell went to pick them up with her right hoof, but couldn't move it, then she remembered what had happened.  She quickly looked down to see that her right foreleg had a cast on it, and was immobilized by a sling.  "Oh b-b-bother."

She was going to try and reach over to her glasses with her other hoof when she heard a somewhat gravely voice say "Don't move like that.  You'll only hurt yourself more."  Her glasses levitated and gently landed on her face. "There you go", said the kindly nurse.  "You're awake, that's good."

"Wh-wh- where-where am I?", Bluebell asked.

"You're in the emergency room, dear", the nurse answered, "You gave us a little scare for a while. You had a really nasty fall.  Relax now.  You've had a rough day.  We'll take good care of you."  With that, the nurse left.

"I wonder how the others made out", Bluebell thought.

He remember she fell out of the cart as they landed, but he hoped that she was okay, as well. As the duo got out of the cart and headed over towards Astral and Pencil. Dynamo blinked, before smiling at Pastel's remark. "I remember Samurai got out of the race pretty early, but I'm relieved to know that he's okay. I'm really sorry to hear about the Mach 5 though. I think there might be a food court for the occasion from the race. If not, then there should be a place to get something to eat. Maybe we can all stop by like we did when getting dessert after the karaoke event."

11 hours ago, Dynamo Pad said:

Upon making their way over towards their friends, Dynamo smiled with a nod on the praise. "Thanks, you guys. The both of you did pretty well too. It was a close race and a lot of random and crazy stuff had happened. It was fun. It was also great to race alongside you, Samurai. I'm sorry you weren't able to finish the race, but I hope we can race again sometime. I'd still like to take the Mach 5 for a spin, as well as let you take the vehicle Pastel-chan and I drove for a test run." He smiled, before frowning softly at Pencil's question. He hesitated at first, before slowly nodding at her question. He was about to open his mouth, but stopped as he heard the announcement over the intercom. He sighed, before giving Pencil a kind smile. "I still do want to talk about it, but I guess we should wait to discuss things until after the award ceremony. If that's okay, that is." He would say, while giving Pencil a look of understanding.

A member of the emergency crew approached them. "Pardon me, folks", he said. He turned to Dynamo. "Your partner is hurt bad, poor gal.  She was askin' for ya.  She'll be in the hospital 'bout now."

Samurai was about to say something regarding Dynamo's comment about his Mach 5 kart, but bad news can wait. Better to let the racers have their moment for now. So while everyone heads to the stage, Samurai hangs back with Kronos and Shadow.

At the stage, two familiar ponies from the start of the event step up to talk to the press. "Ladies and gentlecolts, the first ever Friendshire Kart Race has come to a close. And while we have witnessed who crossed the finish line, there have been moments that needed a final judgement. So before we declare the winners, let's turn one more time to Straightaway Fairplay." Elusive Facts explains, talking into her microphone before turning to her partner. "Obviously, anyone who cheated, forfeit, or wrecked their kart beyond repair was disqualified. That includes Samurai Equine, Kronos, Rolling Rush..." Straightaway speaks into his own microphone and names off every racer that is disqualified. "...And that being said, an issue has come to our attention. The footage was reviewed carefully. During the race, Dynamo Pad and Pencil Heart temporarily took on a 3rd passenger. Upon careful examination of the footage and after conducting an independent investigation..."

Straightaway pauses and pulls out an envelope, reading the final judgement to himself and drawing out the suspense. "...The judges have determined that the surprise passenger was NOT pre-planned, there was no attempt or intent to cheat, and the arrival of the mystery passenger will NOT disqualify Dynamo Pad and Pastel Heart." Straightaway explains. Somewhere in the background, Daring Decor makes angry noises. After that, Straightaway Fairplay quietly instructs the top 3 winners to stand on the proper place on the award podium.

Elusive Facts returns with the awards. "All right, everypony~! And with that settled, here comes the awards! In 3rd place, Heavy Bucket from the Construction Kart Krew!" Heavy is standings on the 3rd place step, the shortest one. Elusive hangs a ribbon-strung bronze metal around his neck. "In 2nd place, Dynamo Pad and Pencil Heart!" Dynamo and Pencil are standing on the 2nd place step, the second highest step. Elusive gives them both their own silver medal. "And finally, in 1st place, the winner of the Kart Race... Pencil Pouch and Astral Vision!" Pencil and Astral are standing on the 1st place step, the middle step that stands the tallest. Elusive gives each of them a gold trophy. "Congratulations!!" Elusive manages to say before the confetti and streamers fly, followed by victory music and audience applause, photographs, and so on! Even if there is no other kart races after today, all of Friendshire will remember this moment.

Trilby walks to the nearest food vendor with Beryl still under hat; the radio playing to announce the final results of the race. Trilby orders some snacks, taking Beryl's food requests and holding it up to her so she won't have leave the hat. "...Did you say library? Yeah, we've got one of those. Although, I'm not sure if this town's history is fully recorded... You may have to talk to Samurai Equine or Astral Vision about that. I think they were showing the most interest in our town's history. All I know is we use to have some mayors, but now no pony sees them. Oh, but we definitely have news outlits. Ms. Elusive Facts is the top reporter for the Friendshire Local News." Trilby explains. "You must be a very educated breezie. You know, the library has staff, but we don't have a head librarian yet."
