At the moment? Probably neither, I've been tapped out of watching movies for a while, and with so much working overtime lately, I'm just exhausted to do anything. At the very least I do plan on seeing Barbie at some point

Neither, because I'm no movie guy. If I had to pick though, I'd go with Oppenheimer. Barbie, from what I've gathered, is not self-aware guilty pleasure fun or something that even comes close to capturing that MLP-style appeal. At least Oppenheimer's got the man behind The Dark Knight.

I'll wait for the Bluray or whatever of Oppenheimer. I do not like going to the cinema, to me, it is a lesser experience than watching at home (yes, audio and video quality is better, but that's it).

If I was forced  to choose between watching either of the two movies without any doubt I would choose Oppenheimer.

I'm sure if you're a 5 year old girl, the parent of one or been a huge collector of the dolls it will be a hit for you but for a general movie I can't imagine it will hold much value.

But I have not seen either one to be fair so who knows maybe either will be better or worse than I anticipate.

I thought this was pretty random but man, Barbie vs. Oppenheimer is all over the internet! What a crazy rivalry.

Wouldn’t be the first time

I'm a bit confused, how come these two are specifically being pitted against each other?

Other than them being the complete opposite of each other in tone and premiering basically at the same time. Or is that literally it? :sealed:

I'm watching neither right now. Oppenheimer is something that might just interest me when it becomes available on home media but I'm not sure.

As for Barbie, I have 0% interest in it and I'm completely baffled as to why a Barbie movie was causing such anticipation and excitement in the media in the months leading up to its release.

I don't get it either. I guess just something's funny so people keep spreading it.

I wanted to see Barbie because was more fun to watch than some documentary about the guy who built the nuclear bomb, but for now, I don't have time to watch it.

When Oppenheimer gets nominated for Best Picture next year, it will more than deserve it. But it's not my cup of tea, so I'm not interested in seeing it.

Barbie, OTOH, interested me, and I saw it earlier tonight. Such a great film!

This. Make this into a bloody movie. Or even better, a movie AND a game. My life would then be complete. o3o

I won't watch either. I would however watch a new season of The Expanse..

If I see either of them it will be Barbie. I’m not into movies like Oppenheimer although a friend posted on fb that it was good. I prefer more fun lighthearted movies.

Well as someone who has watched animation aimed at girls more often there is the simple fun factor.

It's like with the original MLP series.  Is it good?  Maybe not, but neither is say the original Transformers😁 which some hold up as being on par with Batman The Animated Series or Gargoyles.

Big Transformers fan here. I love the 80s cartoon but it's nowhere near the same league as those two shows and I rarely see anyone say as much(now Beast Wars on the other hand....). It's definitely a product of its time(though imo it adds to its charm)
