How old were you when you stopped trick-or-treating?

Well, I trick-or-treated last year, and I have no plans for this year. I guess that was my last year? (12 years old.) That is, if nothing magical happens and I get to go trick-or-treating again this year. c:

I only did it once, when I was 8, and got made fun of by 3 guys who were all at least double my age and never did it again. It's not as common here in the UK compared to other places anyway

I rarely ever went Trick or Treating, as I had "those" kinds of parents growing up. By the time they mellowed out, I was around 16-17 so I was getting too old. That said, when I had to babysit I still made sure to get my own share of goodies because dammit, I ain't missing out on the experience I never really had when I was a kid

11? I'm honestly not sure, but I think it was 11 or 12. The last trick or treat I really remember was from then when I went with two of my best friends at 11 but I might've gone some other time I don't remember. I just kinda lost interest in it when I was a kid tbh. Especially since I had younger siblings who I could convince to share their candy with me.

I stopped when I was about 13. But then I started doing it again when I was in my twenties. I realized that just as many adults enjoy it as kids, maybe even more, and I enjoyed being part of the action. I liked getting in costume and going out more than the candy (even though I’d never refuse candy corn if someone was determined to give it to me). I did skip the last couple years but I’m going back out this year and looking forward to it.

Well, trick-or-treating was not that popular in germany when I was a child (and is still not so popular nowadays, but more than in my childhood), I only made it once in my live. I don't know how old i was back then (I gues I was 11 or 12). I also did not know anymore why I never did it the years later. I guess I felt to old for it.

I've always gone trick-or-treating, I haven't stopped yet!  If I don't feel like it that year, then I'd just stay in and watch scary movies

I don't know why because I'm certain she doesnt believe this now, but my mom told me I was too old to go trick-or-treating when I was 15 think because now I was a highschooler?

That same year a friend of mine was hosting a Halloween party and it was fun but also weird? I think everyone dressed up but I cant remember what anyone else was. It was a school day, and I wore all black, fashioned two umbrellas into wings and borrowed my youngest brother's child sized batman mask to be the dark night obviously. Got yelled at by a teacher to take the mask off. 

Then for the evening, I dyed my hair green, did the latex scarring and full get up and make up for the Joker, and I made a fake stick of dynamite with a real fuze lit.

We had like 20 people playing cards against humanity which made for many laughs, and someone tried to start up a game of truth or dare that was instantly too inappropriate so the whole party just kind of went nope on that. Someone had stolen a school projector to try and play a movie on a bedsheets but couldn't get a good quality image or sound, so it was kind of just spooky ambiance.

In the end we all just wanted to be kids still, so we ended up playing hide-and-go-seek-tag in the dark around the whole block in everyone's front yards. It was awesome.

However, I went trick-or-treating after that for 16, 17, and 18! I think my friends and I considered 19 because we still looked young enough to "get way" with it, but not everyone was dressed and it was raining so we stayed in and gamed. Plus I brought a box of full size Hershey bars and was chucking them at everybody.

I fully intend to go trick or treating again once I have a kid. I don't care if they're only an infant, that just means they can be the petit pilot to a mech suit or something!

The extra layer of silliness to what my mom had originally said, was we gave out candy to whoever showed up, as long as it was before 10PM, and I have no qualms as long as you've done something, even just cat ears and drawn on whiskers.

So to everyone taking to the streets this year, no matter your age and in whatever manner of extravagance, I wish all the more power to you!

I've never trick-or-treated, Halloween has only really been celebrated here in the last decade or so. And I don't think a lot of kids do that now either.

I can't remember how old I was. I think I stopped when I entered into middle school, if not a grade or so before.
By that point, you may be young enough to keep doing it, but just as many of your peers will tell you that you're too old for it or that it's weird to keep doing it at that age.

Joke's on them. Dressing up in costumes is fun for any age! And you don't need to go door to door if you can get better treats yourself.

I never trick-or-treated, Halloween is an Irish tradition foreign to my culture (Catalan) and iv'e only seen that in movies Until 20 years ago. As most Irish traditions, it's about giving a reason to hurt other people.

¿You don't give us candy? Then fear the consequences. Teaching kids mob behaviour is not a funny idea...

You don't wear green clothes? Get prepared for a pinch...
