Samurai runs up while humming a tune, but sees Kramathia (@Rethajni) and @Shiny Silvermoon entraining each other. "...Did you know that phoenixes typically fly south in the fall? They get a head start on other flying, migrating creatures in this regard. It's like they instinctually know that the leaves are falling and don't want to accidentally cause any forest fires." Samurai says to any pony that will listen. "Hey Kramathia, look up Phoenix Migration Patterns. Where do they usually go this time of year?" Samurai asks, while also turning to give Chatterbox a sly wink.

*That wink was enough to melt Chatterbox heart, she tackles him and embraces him in a hug*

After a quick cuddle, Samurai dusts off his dazzling red armor and looks at Chatterbox. "What do you say, Chat-chan? Will you run beside me this time?"

Discord laid back in his chair, suspended 50 feet above the ground and sipping his tea, as he witnessed the sweet little participants of the Running of the Leaves ceremony. Unbeknownst to them, he had been observing their efforts since the race commenced, particularly the luck of @Wizard. And boy howdy, was he waiting for an opportunity such as this.

"Run, run, run, little ponies~!" he chuckled to himself, raising his claw in the air, as clouds began to swirl around within the sky, flickering the sun's light on and off. "Such a dull affair when there's no fun. And the bonding that's occurring! Ohoho my, that won't do. I'm sure nopony would mind if I spiced some things up!"

Using his powers, Discord snapped his fingers with a wicked smirk, causing the sun and moon to pop in and out repeatedly within 5 seconds of each other. Lowering his hand towards the ground, he snapped his fingers a second time, and leaned down to listen to the sweet sound of rapid footsteps rushing down the trail towards @Wizard. A swarm of crazed rabbits, all stampeding in a ball of fluffy, white anarchy, were heading directly their way. What fun it would be to see how this would be dealt with, along with the rapid jumps between day and night! And Discord revelled in it.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAGH! Now THIS is entertainment!" He flailed wildly in his chair and quickly summoned a tape recorder to preserve for later.

*Due to her connection with the moon, the flickerings between the day and night caused Shiny to feel dizzy. Even walking was now near impossible for her to do. After what seemed like an eternity to her, the unicorn decided that it needed to stop.*

"Hey! @Discord! Could you please stop alternating the days and nights at a rapid pace? How about you choose one and stick with it for a while instead? I have nothing against a little chaos but I think nopony wants to see me throw up!"

This is probably just some illusion to challenge us but your connection to the moon is consistent. And eternal no matter external circumstances… remember that.”

*The reassuring embrace of @Ice Princess Silky <3 and her soothing voice calmed Shiny a little bit and helped her to not throw up. However, the constant increase and decrease of her magic level, caused by the appearance and disappearance of the Moon, was still too much for her body. It was clear in the mare's mind that it wasn't an illusion.*

Titanium is zoned in to the race, the days become night, then day again, then night again, how long had she been running for? Does it matter? She has to keep running, she cannot slow down, not now! As she runs, the ground begins to quake beneath her feet, the air feels wrong as she continues to sprint through the trees. Out of nowhere, a swarm of rabbits appear before her, running directly at her! Was something wrong? Did the earthquake from before upset the wildlife? Whatever the reason is, she has to do something or she will be trampled by the soft aggressive critters!

Laughter can be heard not far from here, instinct takes over as Titanium has been in several dangerous situations this year alone. She glances a figure floating in the corner of her eyes, and dives into the tree line. She grabs a thin, flexible tree, juvenile in age, and bends it back until it touches the ground. As the rabbits charge at her, she releases the tree, catapulting the rabbits into the air and directly into the path of the floating maniacal laughter. Any rabbits that miss their target, land into soft bushes, unharmed.

*As she was recording @Shiny Silvermoon Kramathia felt something soft and fluffy fell in her head, it was a rabbit... but how???was this part of the day and night chaos??

 

But she couldn't do any analysis because the strange rodent started to bite her, and she didn't felt anything first until it started to reach a small circuit that handles strong physical response, in other words, Kramathia started to feel the pain of small bites

[Starlight Glimmer 103]

As the race continued, Starlight had taken notice that some of the racers had begun to slow down a little. "It looks like our racers are taking a small reprieve to get their strength back. The amount of time they've been running is truly admirable, but we all need a break sooner or later." Starlight commentated, taking notice of Titanium, who was way out in front. "It looks like Titanium has got a comfortable lead, but she shouldn't underestimate the competition. Moonlight, Chatterbox and even Silky, Vibrant as well as Shiny are trying to catch up to them. Even some of our runners that are bringing up the rear are still going strong. I know that the race is still young and raring to go! I hope that you're staying tuned, racing fans!" Starlight exclaimed, keeping her eyes on the racers, before squinting her eyes slightly at something that seemed out of place. She could hear the faint sound of laughter almost up above both her and Trixie. Turning her attention upward, she could see Discord, who was sitting in a chair sipping some tea. "Discord!? What are you doing here? Are you here to watch the race, or trying to join in on the commentary? You didn't show up to discuss with us, so I'm sorry that this was short notice." Taking not of the snap of his fingers, she looked around, until she saw that a number of rabbits had appeared out of nowhere. "Why would he summon rabbits to here of all places? They weren't meant to be a part of this until much later." Starlight muttered to herself, before realizing who they were going for.

What the rabbits were actually chasing was not everyone in the race, but Titanium. "Is Discord crazy!? Why in Equestria would he try to sabotage the racer's like this!? Is this a game to him!?" She still knew that Discord was a changed Draconequus, but this felt a bit extreme for Discord's type of chaos. What was worse was not just the rabbits chasing Titanium, but up ahead there looked to be a collapsed cart in the middle of the road. Pulling up a pair of binoculars from within the basket, she was able to get a better inspection of the scene before her. The cart had collapsed on its side with the loss of a wheel. Not only that, but five barrels of apples had fallen out and were laying on their sides. The apples that were in each barrel lay scattered on the ground. An expression of shock and concern were growing upon her face as realization was settling in. "If everyone isn't warned of this, then there could be a really bad accident! We need to warn them!" She screamed to Trixie, while being thankful that the mic was turned off for the time being. "TITANIUM!!! If you can hear me, then you've got some company on your tail! You've got to get out of the way or lose them!!!" She called out to the mare, before taking note of Titanium's masterplan in action.

With quick thinking, it looked like the mare was able to launch a majority of the rabbits back at Discord. Trying to hold in a giggle at the display between the two, it looked like the Daconequus was getting some just desserts for his earlier action. She couldn't have a chance to relax, however, as she still needed to warn the racers about the broken cart and bushels of apples laying about. Just as she was about to shout towards the racers below, she took a closer look at the accident below. "There wasn't a sign on the road before. Is this Discord's doing, or was this already planned?" Starlight says, taking note of a sign pointing to a path leading away from the race track. Even the words on the sign had confused the unicorn. "Shortcut to Sweet Apple Acres" How was it possible that this path could lead to the next location on the race? "Sweet Apple Acres is the next obstacle for sure, but that wasn't for a little while from now." Starlight pondered upon what was even going on around here. At any rate, she knew that she had to make a decision and she had to make it now. Putting the binoculars away in exchange for a megaphone, she held it in a levitation spell, before taking a deep breath to project her voice. "ATTENTION, EVERYPONY THAT IS CURRENTLY RACING! There is an accident up ahead, but there is a sign that will lead you to where you need to go! Take the shortcut and you'll soon arrive at Sweet Apple Acres!" Starlight exclaimed, hoping that everyone would take her advice.

The corner of Discord's lips turn upward in a slow, complacent smirk. The moment seems suspended in time as every pony seems to freeze on the spot. "I think... that is not enough fun for my little fillies here." And his menacing cackle would erupt in a sinister echo that was heard throughout the entire race.

Intrigued by the outcomes of everything so far, Discord drew back his head and chuckled like a child receiving a new toy. However, he knew he could do far better. He took note of every pony's position in the race and waltzed around their frozen bodies. Of particular note was @Shiny Silvermoon. Her powers would prove most entertaining in this race. When Discord was done, he smirked and glanced up at the sky, rubbing his hands together and licking his lips.

"Normally, this would get anyone disqualified from such an event. Unfortunately, I pride myself upon being a saboteur! This is going to be just like that time I screwed up that Superbowl game. Ahhhh, good times~"

He wiped a tear from his eye and snapped his fingers, lowering the sun entirely and only retaining the moon. However, this particular moon suspended was no ordinary one. Using his powers to bend reality, he shaped it into what was known as a Cold Moon. Oh, the fun that would come of this!

"Perfect! Now, to make a quick pitstop!" He announced to himself as he sped off in a cloud of dust to the sign @Starlight Glimmer had revealed to everyone. Shortcut to Sweet Apple Acres. huh? What would be the fun in ending this early? With the snap of his fingers, Discord summoned multiple signs pointing in different directions, all reading the same thing. North, south, east, west, backwards, forwards, shortways and longways, every which way he could think of, before disappearing and landing inside Starlight's hot air balloon. "Oh my dear, sweet unicorn. You're looking a little tongue tied there! Frozen with delight, I see. Allow me to help you recuperate." A second passed before Starlight was now on the floor of the balloon, fast asleep.

"Ta-ta, mon ami!" With an insanity-filled laugh, Discord vanished from the area.

[Shiny Silvermoon]

*With relief, the mare with a silver mane sensed that the days and nights ceased to swap places at a rapid pace. She thought that @Discord listened to her pleas and made it stop for her to not feel sick anymore but, as she glanced up at the sky to thank the Draconequus who was floating there, something else caught her attention. She saw that it was now night time and that the Moon was full.*

*Shiny Silvermoon turned her gaze toward the full moon and noticed that it was shining brighter than usually. However, she was aware that it wasn't caused by the chaotic magic of the Draconequus but, instead, it was a natural phenomenon. It was the Cold Moon which marks the end of the year, since this full moon aligns with the winter solstice. It's entire face is illuminated by sunlight, making it appear particularly bright. While staring at the Cold Moon, the mare felt something change within her. It wasn't just within her, it was also outside of her, since she was transforming. It began with the style of her mane and tail which turned into a replica of Starlight Glimmer's. Meanwhile, her icy blue strands became purple along with her irises shifting persian blue. To complete the transformation of the unicorn, the icy blue of the two-tailed shooting star on her cutie mark became light purple. A cold aura enveloped Shiny and frost began to spread where she was standing.*

"Huh?! What the pony is going on?! I've never seen this transformation before! That's so exciting! I wonder what powers I have! Maybe my magic is stronger!" *Shiny Silvermoon beamed, excited by the idea of discovering her new powers. Then, she tried to lift a small rock with her magic to see if it got any stronger but was left flabberghasted as a layer of frost quickly covered it. She then tried to pick up a leaf but her magic also turned it into ice. Suddenly, the unicorn had an idea.*

*Shiny began to run and, when she was going fast enough, she started to shoot a frozing ray out of her horn, directly on the ground in front of her, with the purpose of turning it into ice. She was now sliding onto the ice and quickly gained enough speed to arrive next to Titanium @Wizard who was desperately running.*

"Howdy, Titanium! Lately, I've been worried about you! You've been sprinting, without taking any breaks, since the beginning of the race! You'll kill yourself if you continue! Now, I'm leaving you no choice but to CHILL!" *After saying her punchline, she blasted Titanium with her magic to freeze her hooves to the ground, making her unable to make another step. The layer of ice was too thick to be broken.*

"Now, you'll wait for the other participants to catch up and then @Samurai Equine will unfreeze you! I think he mentionned that he was doing pyromancy or something like that! Anyway! I'm happy that we broke the ice together!" *The mare said playfully, before skating on the ice back to far behind, where her friends were still running.*

Discord laid back in his chair, suspended 50 feet above the ground and sipping his tea, as he witnessed the sweet little participants of the Running of the Leaves ceremony. Unbeknownst to them, he had been observing their efforts since the race commenced, particularly the luck of @Wizard. And boy howdy, was he waiting for an opportunity such as this.

"Run, run, run, little ponies~!" he chuckled to himself, raising his claw in the air, as clouds began to swirl around within the sky, flickering the sun's light on and off. "Such a dull affair when there's no fun. And the bonding that's occurring! Ohoho my, that won't do. I'm sure nopony would mind if I spiced some things up!"

Using his powers, Discord snapped his fingers with a wicked smirk, causing the sun and moon to pop in and out repeatedly within 5 seconds of each other. Lowering his hand towards the ground, he snapped his fingers a second time, and leaned down to listen to the sweet sound of rapid footsteps rushing down the trail towards @Wizard. A swarm of crazed rabbits, all stampeding in a ball of fluffy, white anarchy, were heading directly their way. What fun it would be to see how this would be dealt with, along with the rapid jumps between day and night! And Discord revelled in it.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAGH! Now THIS is entertainment!" He flailed wildly in his chair and quickly summoned a tape recorder to preserve for later.

All at once, something strange was happening, and it wasn't just the suddenly repeating change from day to night. Samurai could sense a strange, chaotic aura. "What is... AH!!" Samurai doesn't have time to properly react to the threat he feels. Instead, he runs ahead, collecting as many of these wild bunnies as possible and redirecting them back into the wild, completely unaware that they've been turned crazy by Discord's magic.

The amount of time they've been running is truly admirable, but we all need a break sooner or later." Starlight commentated, taking notice of Titanium, who was way out in front. "It looks like Titanium has got a comfortable lead, but she shouldn't underestimate the competition. Moonlight, Chatterbox and even Silky, Vibrant as well as Shiny are trying to catch up to them. Even some of our runners that are bringing up the rear are still going strong. I know that the race is still young and raring to go! I hope that you're staying tuned, racing fans!" Starlight exclaimed, keeping her eyes on the racers, before squinting her eyes slightly at something that seemed out of place. She could hear the faint sound of laughter almost up above both her and Trixie. Turning her attention upward, she could see Discord, who was sitting in a chair sipping some tea. "Discord!? What are you doing here? Are you here to watch the race, or trying to join in on the commentary? You didn't show up to discuss with us, so I'm sorry that this was short notice." Taking not of the snap of his fingers, she looked around, until she saw that a number of rabbits had appeared out of nowhere. "Why would he summon rabbits to here of all places? They weren't meant to be a part of this until much later." Starlight muttered to herself, before realizing who they were going for.

What the rabbits were actually chasing was not everyone in the race, but Titanium. "Is Discord crazy!? Why in Equestria would he try to sabotage the racer's like this!? Is this a game to him!?" She still knew that Discord was a changed Draconequus, but this felt a bit extreme for Discord's type of chaos. What was worse was not just the rabbits chasing Titanium, but up ahead there looked to be a collapsed cart in the middle of the road. Pulling up a pair of binoculars from within the basket, she was able to get a better inspection of the scene before her. The cart had collapsed on its side with the loss of a wheel. Not only that, but five barrels of apples had fallen out and were laying on their sides. The apples that were in each barrel lay scattered on the ground. An expression of shock and concern were growing upon her face as realization was settling in. "If everyone isn't warned of this, then there could be a really bad accident! We need to warn them!" She screamed to Trixie, while being thankful that the mic was turned off for the time being. "TITANIUM!!! If you can hear me, then you've got some company on your tail! You've got to get out of the way or lose them!!!" She called out to the mare, before taking note of Titanium's masterplan in action.

With quick thinking, it looked like the mare was able to launch a majority of the rabbits back at Discord. Trying to hold in a giggle at the display between the two, it looked like the Daconequus was getting some just desserts for his earlier action. She couldn't have a chance to relax, however, as she still needed to warn the racers about the broken cart and bushels of apples laying about. Just as she was about to shout towards the racers below, she took a closer look at the accident below. "There wasn't a sign on the road before. Is this Discord's doing, or was this already planned?" Starlight says, taking note of a sign pointing to a path leading away from the race track. Even the words on the sign had confused the unicorn. "Shortcut to Sweet Apple Acres" How was it possible that this path could lead to the next location on the race? "Sweet Apple Acres is the next obstacle for sure, but that wasn't for a little while from now." Starlight pondered upon what was even going on around here. At any rate, she knew that she had to make a decision and she had to make it now. Putting the binoculars away in exchange for a megaphone, she held it in a levitation spell, before taking a deep breath to project her voice. "ATTENTION, EVERYPONY THAT IS CURRENTLY RACING! There is an accident up ahead, but there is a sign that will lead you to where you need to go! Take the shortcut and you'll soon arrive at Sweet Apple Acres!" Starlight exclaimed, hoping that everyone would take her advice.

Samurai notices the fallen cart and scattered apples up ahead. "Taihen da!" If saving rabbits wasn't enough, Samurai uses his unicorn magic to levitate and move as much of the obstacles out of the way. He has every intent of following the sign to the shortcut, but not before making sure the path is as safe for the racers as possible.

"Normally, this would get anyone disqualified from such an event. Unfortunately, I pride myself upon being a saboteur! This is going to be just like that time I screwed up that Superbowl game. Ahhhh, good times~"

He wiped a tear from his eye and snapped his fingers, lowering the sun entirely and only retaining the moon. However, this particular moon suspended was no ordinary one. Using his powers to bend reality, he shaped it into what was known as a Cold Moon. Oh, the fun that would come of this!

"Perfect! Now, to make a quick pitstop!" He announced to himself as he sped off in a cloud of dust to the sign @Starlight Glimmer had revealed to everyone. Shortcut to Sweet Apple Acres. huh? What would be the fun in ending this early? With the snap of his fingers, Discord summoned multiple signs pointing in different directions, all reading the same thing. North, south, east, west, backwards, forwards, shortways and longways, every which way he could think of, before disappearing and landing inside Starlight's hot air balloon. "Oh my dear, sweet unicorn. You're looking a little tongue tied there! Frozen with delight, I see. Allow me to help you recuperate." A second passed before Starlight was now on the floor of the balloon, fast asleep.

"Ta-ta, mon ami!" With an insanity-filled laugh, Discord vanished from the area.

...Or, at least Samurai WAS planning to take the short cut, until he notices all the signs. "Eh?! Nani?! Sonna baka na koto!"

Samurai will end up stopping a moment to try and figure out which way to go. "...Maybe I should have been a traffic cop instead."

It began with the style of her mane and tail which turned into a replica of Starlight Glimmer's. Meanwhile, her icy blue strands became purple along with her irises shifting persian blue. To complete the transformation of the unicorn, the icy blue of the two-tailed shooting star on her cutie mark became light purple. A cold aura enveloped Shiny and frost began to spread where she was standing.*

"Huh?! What the pony is going on?! I've never seen this transformation before! That's so exciting! I wonder what powers I have! Maybe my magic is stronger!" *Shiny Silvermoon beamed, excited by the idea of discovering her new powers. Then, she tried to lift a small rock with her magic to see if it got any stronger but was left flabberghasted as a layer of frost quickly covered it. She then tried to pick up a leaf but her magic also turned it into ice. Suddenly, the unicorn had an idea.*

*Shiny began to run and, when she was going fast enough, she started to shoot a frozing ray out of her horn, directly on the ground in front of her, with the purpose of turning it into ice. She was now sliding onto the ice and quickly gained enough speed to arrive next to Titanium @Wizard who was desperately running.*

But sensing yet another magic that makes his spine crawl, Samurai turns back. As much as he wants to go chasing after Shiny right now, instead, he focuses on those that need him most.
Using his helmet to help protect his ears, he moves in to give Kamathia a playful boop on the nose. "I saw this in a cartoon once."
He also goes over to check and help Titanium (@Wizard), summoning his fire magic to rapidly thaw her out and warm her back up. "Please work..."

[Anarchylight]

*Anarchylight notices the rapid change of day and night. Scanning the phenomenon, she realized it was chaos magic.
"That's definitely Discord. I wonder what he'll do next?"
*When Anarchylight said this, she felt the effects of chaos magic. She realized it was a time-stopping spell. Anarchylight turned on her protection from the effects of magic on herself. She stopped and looked around.

"Time has stopped. If I run now when everything has stopped, it would be unfair, so I'll wait in place until Discord cancels the time stop."
*When time started moving again, Anarchylight continued running.
"Chaos magic is so FUN!!!!"

Titanium begins to run after flinging the rabbits back in Discords direction, however, after a short few steps, she is accosted by a familiar face. "A-are you skating?!" she exclaims, looking at the bright silver mare, she looks up and notices an incredibly bright moon like nothing she had ever seen before. "...Magic..." She mutters, before suddenly being blasted by a cone of ice by @Shiny Silvermoon, screaming in surprise, her legs are instantly frozen to the ground. "Hey! Stop!" She exclaims, the sudden shock of the cold making her gasp for air. "Sudden temperature drops CAUSE heart attacks! Freezing me ISN'T HELPING ME!" She screams as the unicorn slides away. Titanium immediately begins to struggle and attempt to pull her hoofs out from the ice.

As she continues to struggle, a Stallion runs up to her and begins to blast fire at her legs. "W-whoa! I hope you can control that!" She says with a tremble in her voice, looking away until she begins to feel warmth run through her legs. The cold to hot causes her legs to sting with pain and a sensation of static running through her veins. She pulls out what little strength she can to break free. The ice cracks and melts under the heat and strain, until she is finally free again. "Wh- Y- Oh- Okay. Oh that's cold, that's so weird. Th-thank you. I need to get the blood pumping again and warm up!" Titanium starts to trot, eventually trying to get into a gallop, but finding it difficult to move with numb legs.
