general How do you celebrate New Year's?

As I am writing this it is 1:13Am local time Dec 31st.

How do you like to celebrate New Year's or plan to celebrate it this year? What are some memorable New Years you remember?

Here in Britain we have an annual variety show that marks the occasion called the Hootenanny that many people tune into.

In 2013 I when to a open party at a local hotel with stand up comedians. As I got up to leave I lifted a glass and said "To 2013, may it finally dispel those myths about the end of the world!"

Personally I didn't like that one much which is why I've settled on this annual tradition. I sit at home on New Year's eve and watch Rudolph's Shiny New Year, the only New Year's Movie there is. Then I tune in and wait for the biggest New Year's party in the country... Big Ben striking midnight and the massive fireworks display following.

Last few years for me has been just relaxing. Honestly I enjoy the New Tear a lot more that way

All I do is stay up until midnight upstairs with my parents before heading off to bed. Yeah, it's not the most exciting thing, but it's a tradition the three of us have been doing for over a decade.

Today we will have Turkey for New Year's Eve food, which i look forward too.

Other than that some rockets in the air.

Go with girlfriend to her parent's. Have dinner, maybe play a game. They plan on repeating the new crock pot hot chocolate recipe from christmas. Have something following the ball drops from east coast till it reaches us playing on the TV. Kind of obnoxious over the top programming. Usually make a mimosa, this year its a cranberry wine with edible glitter? Wait til it's our turn, midnight kiss, light something outside. Going to bring roman candles this time. Then it's meander sleepily for an hour until everyone goes to bed. Girlfriend crawls into childhood bed that really only fits one. I squeeze onto short couch. Sleep light and wake up earlier than really makes sense with crook in the neck. Likely steal her bed around noon while she's hanging out. Go home with big smiles.

I'm still sleepy from yesterday and have to work. There's 16 hours left in the day,,,

Usually on New Year's Eve I watch Christmas and New Year's movies, listen to Christmas music. I also have a festive dinner with my family, then I watch New Year's greetings from my favorite YouTubers and play ProTanki Online. I also don't sleep until 12 at night.

I usually buy some reasonably-expensive fireworks and set them off.

I usually celebrate by hiding at home and avoiding anything that remotely resembles a party of any kind. I tolerate the noise outside until people lose interest in celebrating the ordinary and go home to nurse their burgeoning hangovers. I tend to watch movies to mark most occasions, but I already watched Rudolph’s Shiny New Year during the early Christmas season. I will probably watch Holiday Inn (1942), which covers pretty much all major holidays, and I’ll make a big nasty pizza to go with it.

I celebrate new years eve with my friends while playing we cards, eating together Raclette and making firework at Midnight. On new years day, I sleep longer than usual and at the afternoon, I eat Neujahrsbrezel (new years pretzel) with my family.

I stay up until 12am....and that's about it. If I get invited to something, I'll go, but other than that, I don't have the energy to do much.
