moneyshredderofdeath 414 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 My mom adored seeing the Q-Bert cameo. I'll be looking forward to this too, even if it turns out to only be ok I'll still get a kick out of the cameos.
Nas 2,873 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 I can't wait to see this legendary and unusual crossover between the world of infinitely amazing animation of Disney and Lasseter, and the world of video games. :3 Anypony else looking forward to this movie? I think this is the first time Disney/Pixar have created a movie based on a video game, including video game characters, such as Bowser, Dr. Eggman, Clyde, Zangief, even Kano (even though most would appear as cameo), which i really interesting in my opinion. FYI, Pixar is in no way involved, but the on-par geniuses at Walt Disney Animation Studios. But John Lasseter will be producing. Also, it appears as if some models (I.e. Bowser, Eggman) were borrowed from the companies’ respective graphical render teams, I recognize those details. This is going to be amazing. My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. Colon Leftbracket 971 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 I'll probably see this... Really the only movie that has me excited aside from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and The Dark Knight Rises. 1 [New siggy in progress!]
InfinityWhale 771 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 From a legal standpoint, how the heck did they manage to make this movie? They've got at least 10 different companies there, and some of them for just throw-away jokes. It's pretty amazing. That's one thing I love about Disney and these types of movies, they're so authentic with all of these licensees willing to bring their charcaters into the film. It's pretty much like Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), which had the appearances of many, many very famous trademark characters from the golden age of animation, all given privieldge by the respective companies, heck even rivals were in the same movie. I think that's what Lasseter's motive is here, to replicate such connection. 1 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. moneyshredderofdeath 414 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 It's doable by Disney thanks to the mountains of money they have. It's nice that they're willing to take advantage of this fact with movies like Wreck-It Ralph.

Nas 2,873 June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 It appears that the movie has a video game (ironically), and it will be coming to the 3DS. http://nintendo3dsblog.com/wreck-it-ralph-is-coming-to-the-3ds/ So, I wonder if this one will contain the licensed characters? Likely not, but then again, it is a video game. My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Where that journey is headed now, who knows... Chocolate 109 June 27, 2012 Share June 27, 2012 I recognize a ton of those cameos. I was laughing at the House of the Dead zombie. Seeing Eggman and Bowser makes me hopeful that Sonic and Mario will show up at some point. Hopefully together, like how Bugs and Mickey did in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. 4 Huzzah! Nas 2,873 July 27, 2012 Share July 27, 2012 So, were people in this thread asking for Sonic the Hedgehog? Well... I'VE GOT GREAT NEWS. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoWHc0Is78c LET'S GET HYPE. Holy crap, this is just...I can't...I can't believe this. Well, first of all, it looks like the company that Disney's kissing up to is SEGA. Now that isn't bad, as you see that this means exclusive stuff like Ralph being in a Sonic game, which is in interesting crossover between Walt Disney and SEGA...which is a very unusual but awesome combination, if you ask me. This just gets me more and more pumped. That clip was awesome, too, it's nice to see that they're varying on the games that they reference on a nice fresh balance. I wonder if Sonic on that little PSA-type thingy will be the only protagonist appearance we'll see, because it seems Disney's focus when it comes to cameos is on SEGA. Since they have the rights with Nintendo, I don't see why they wouldn't slip Mario in there, heck, I bet there's room for a whole lot of characters. But the important thing is is that they don't overdose on cameos so much that they forget about the story as a whole. But since this is Walt Disney Animation we're talking about, I trust them. 1 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. OkBuddy 586 October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 First of, let's get this straight. This may look like the best video game movie of all time, at least so far. And this also looks like a promising movie in general. Well, I'm excited for this movie. Any of you feeling anticipated for this? (One quick note, I should have written this a while ago, since the movie comes out in about 3 days and continuing.) P.S I hope I spot Mario in this film, but if I do, Sonic will overshadow him. 1 I'm a Y2K Survivor™
Rainbow Skywalker 642 October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 I guess I would be excited. I mean, it's Disney, and it's also a pretty fun concept. ErBoi 501 October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 (edited) I'm just stunned that Nintendo seems to finally be easing up the vice-like grip they have on their licenses. I would not have thought anything of it if vaguely Bowser and Mario-like characters appeared in this because that's just typical of Nintendo to disallow their characters' actual likenesses to be licensed out. Plus, there's finally some well-articulated toys of several Nintendo characters on their way. Edited October 30, 2012 by ErBoi

Creamy Arty 6,252 October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 (edited) Very much so. This is the first video game movie I've seen (well, I haven't seen it yet but you know what I mean) that doesn't try to pander to "gamer culture." It actually reminds me of Tron insofar as it taking place within a digital world and personifying what are really no more than lines of code, but it's a standard Disney animated comedy. The protagonist is a guy disgruntled with his job, looking for somebody who can understand his predicament, and trying to find something better with no idea as to how he should make that happen. While we would get the most enjoyment from the movie because of the strong tie-ins to familiar game franchises, everybody should be able to take it at face value, relate to it, and enjoy it immensely.
