Lunar Republic! Dont get me wrong I like Celestia. however, I do find Luna a far more interesting character in both appearance and personality and background. I would personally love another Luna episode, or better yet an episode explaining Celestia and Luna's background OR BETTER YET! an episode were Luna and Celestia cast a spell transforming them into a unicorn/pegasus and live among their subjects for a day!.........I got a bit sidetracked.........

Even though I love Luna more, I would say neither. I like the fact that Luna and Celestia reunited and are once again co-rulers of Equestria. They're good friends again, as any siblings should be. I don't know, maybe I just like happy endings.

Lets be honest Celestia has already ruled alone for the longest and has kept things peaceful (with a little help form the mane 6) 

Luna on the other hand hasn't I can't see how Luna could be a better ruler especially when she lets her emotions get the better of her and also most important things happen during the day when people are awake.

So I've been looking around and have found tons of great fanart and fansongs and what not about this whole controversy, but nothing appeared on here, or nothing obvious anyways...So I thought I'd start one here. Things I'd like to converse about would be:

1. Would Luna be in her right mind? Would she be Nightmare Moon? or just Luna?
2. Would Celestia be sane as well? or would all the power have finally gotten to her?

3. What would've caused such a rift between the sisters? Would it have been the old "ponies don't love the night" argument?

4. How are the Mane Six faring with this new break up in royalty and possibly loyalty? Would Twilite still be loyal to Celestia? And would the Elements still work?

5. Also, how are other factions reacting to this? Is Discord going to stay good? What would the changelings be doing all this time?

6. Anything else that is relavent and should be brought up and discussed?

Well to reply to the first question, I would like to think that Luna does retain her sanity.  My personal head canon is that she could turn into the Nightmare Moon form on command in order to be threatening or seem more powerful but on the inside she is the same heartbroken younger sister we all love.

Yeah, or atleast it's easier to think of her that way. To think of her as full blown Nightmare agian is kinda sad. I kinda grew attached to the sad broken Luna. Something about her makes me wanna give her a hug.

Amen to that, as for Celestia, well I like her and all but... I'd be lying if I said she had my vote.  Luna is by far my favorite so I'm a little biased when I say this.  However, I don't think Celestia is inherently evil.  I believe she does what she thinks is in the best interest of her subjects.  That being said I don't know  if it is possible for a good ruler to do anything other than that exact thing.  You are sort of stuck with what you get I suppose.

Luna gets out more for her mental health and becomes friends with everypony

Celestia takes on Luna's duties to make sure Luna and other ponies are on good terms

Celestia starts becoming somewhat of a ?recluse? while Luna starts winning the hearts of everypony around her

Sparks fly when Tia starts demanding that Luna take some responsibility

Everything goes downward from there...

I'm against both the Solar Empire and Lunar Republic (also no I won't put the word 'New' in front of it, because I do not believe there was an 'Old'). I do not believe the royal sisters are divided nor in conflict, most importantly I do not see Princess Celestia as a tyrant nor is there any need for a Republic nor a rebellion or a civil war.

 

I say join the Guardians of Harmony, those that follow both the Sun and the Moon. In addition they would fight to keep unity and peace within Equestra.

 

"United we stand, divided we fall" or another way to put it "A nation divided against itself cannot stand".

As you can see, the sun is above the crescent moon and the red five pointed star. It could also be the glow of her horn but it doesn't make it any different.

I voted for the Lunar Republic but I ain't supporting anymore unless I see someone do this who has read at least a couple of books on symbolism.

Well first of all I didn't put that together myself, it's just something I found,second of all from the little I know about the Lunar Republic (or anyone for that matter; seriously, it's just a funny way for bronies to declare best princess, that's all, don't over think it), I don't think it's necessarily communist, I think it's about as much of a monarchy as the Solar Empire, just a different princess, and finally I think the sun above the crescent moon symbolizes the dawn of a new era, not Celestia remaining paramount over Luna.

 

But like I said, it doesn't really matter; nobody ever takes the Solar Empire vs. Lunar Republic thing seriously, it's just a fun little Internet game is all.

I believe they meant the picture itself, was purposefully or accidentally holds a lot of communistic imagery.

Also I personally feel more people should take it seriously. Fans are joking about dividing families and friends through civil war and rebellion. Conflict that would most realistically cause pain, suffering, and even death... all so the fans show their support their favorite princess.

 

I do not feel many fans consider the implications of the Solar Empire and Lunar Republic. They say "ha, ha it is just a joke"... well war is not something you joke about! Dividing families and friends, forcing ponies to choose between princesses when they're supposed to be subject to both, tearing a wound across the Equestria.

Well it is a good thing Equestria is Diarchy not an Empire then, two ruling together acting as a check and balance to each other.
