Luna's old or new look?

Luna's old look was cute but I still prefer the new one better. The new one represents 'Thy Princess of The Night' better to me.

I would have to say the now look is better mainly due to the mane, but she looks more grown up and i have to say it is better for her.

I personally like the new look as well. Her entire new look has more of a presence and looks like royalty rather then in her first look where she had a normal mane and looked like a pegasus with a horn.

Agreed, the huge wavy sparkly dark blending plasma-like mane makes her look more .. more! than the plain mane she used to have before. But yea, she was such a cutie.

Definitely new. I just looks more detailed, and like there was more thought put into it. A darker color scheme works for her, and she has this very regal, noble look. Could you image THE ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE coming out of old Luna's mouth?

Easily the new look. Although her design from season one is really cute, it makes her rather young and doesn't make her appear to be the Princess of the Moon. Her newer, more mature look, on the other hand, fits the higher Royal Princess scheme, from her darker colors to her slicker mane.

I think I only like the new look's mane. The older look I like better though because she actually seemed like a little sister. I mean, not that she doesn't look younger than Celestia now, but also her colors seem way too dark and yfjdgh ;-;

I like the old one, when I saw her for the first time with that mane, my heart instantly melted. She just looked way too cute! the new one just didn't speak to me as much, but it's still pretty to watch.

Luna's new look is what I expected when we first saw her, and I prefer it over the filly form we first saw instead. When we finally got the look I had imagined from the beginning it was surprising because I had already come to accept her as a foal. I'd like to know the reason for the original design and the later change.

I have a theory for the manes

 

my guess is that the Princess' powers fluctuate with the day and night cycle. Celestia is strongest during the day, and at night is when Luna's power is at its highest. I believe Luna's mane reflects that. During the day when she is weaker her mane is the normal look from Season 1. At night, her mane looks like it does in Season 2. There's even a bit of 'proof' to my theory

 

In season 2, did we see Luna in the daytime at all? no.

 

In season 1, is it not true that we ONLY saw Luna AFTER the sun was rising? yes.
