The MLP fanbase has made many different types of fanart, but let's speak strictly of these three.

Note: Choosing None will count as saying you like just normal, non-transformed ponies.

Examples:

Anthropomorphic:

Regular ponies. However, I will fancy a multifarious assortment of themes and styles being applied onto them.

Where is the Twilight, where's the Sparkle

Where's dear Fluttershy knocking on the door

Where's the Rainbow Dash that takes me there

Where the real is shattered by a Pinkie Pie

All three of the above really just seem to me like excuses to put boobs on everything that moves. I understand there are a lot of people who love just that, but I like my ponies cartoony and whimsical, just like they are in the show.

For each theyr own. :P

Anyways, I chose...

ANTHROPOMORPHIC ALL THE FRIKEN WAY

though I like the normal drawings of ponies too. but damn... that first picture made my day... xD

Well, I believe ponies are best when ponies are ponies. I really enjoy the art style of the show, and most of the stuff that strays from that original style, is often less appealing to me. All of the above included. I don't dislike the other forms, and some of them are very well done, but I just prefer the original style best. I do often prefer realistic styles when it comes to art, but how exactly can you make realistic MLP ponies that don't look ridiculous :P

Also was it really necessary to post such revealing pics on here? I'm fairly confident you could have found examples that stray a little bit farther from NSFW :P (I'd say it is NSFW myself, but it seems Feld0 doesn't mind as he has clearly seen the above pics, so not much I can do there :P) No matter the style, I personally prefer my ponies to have a lack of breasts, or at least have them kept beneath a layer of clothing ;)

This.

To each their own, yeah, I accept that, but I still find anthropomorphizing and gender-swap fanart creepy because most of the time it just seems like they do it to make the character "sexy".

And, not trying to rock the boat or anything, but I'm pretty sure some of the naked "humanized" characters qualify as shota and loli too, which is a whole other issue. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

I would doubt that, because loli and shota are... "interaction" between the same gender of underaged people (yes, below 18 years old) and It usually has to do with rule 34. I wouldn't say that humanized art isn't rule 34 related sometimes, but it really isn't loli, shota or any other nasty thing.

For me, it really depends more heavily upon the techniques and methods used in order to create artwork, rather than a preference for a particular style.

While I do have a tendency to favour your stock standard cannon style ponies, from time to time I do come across one of the more unconventional styles of art which I'll take a liking to, predominantly due the unique methods they use to create their work.

As for the images above, I can't say that any of them are to my liking, particularly because they seem to focus too strongly on creating a voluptuous figure, but of course, that's just my perspective.

Well, it got edited out, but before, there was a picture of a naked humanized Scootaloo and... I think Sweetie Belle standing by each other naked, which kinda falls under the whole rule 34 thing.

But I'll clear up my previous statement: I don't have a problem with anthro art, humanized art, etc. I have a problem with "sexy" anthro art, humanized art, etc. But eh, different argument for a different time, and I feel I'm derailing this thread.

Here I was going to say this very same thing, you saved me some effort! Now I shall just provide an addendum:

All of those types of fan art are fine for some, sure, but personally I feel that if you want boobs of other... arousing subjects I think there are better fandoms and mediums for it than ponies. This all is just misguided and borderline abusive to the nature and message of the show which focuses around friendship and trust between individuals over any sex-appeal centric focuses. Once you bring sex into picture in any form you are already introducing to the fandom a factor that should not be a factor in friendship: Sexual motivation.

All this forced sex-appeal bullcrap already has saturated and in a way ruined many other shows and fandoms out there. I can not forbid of stop it of course but personally I feel it all to be pointless and foolish to involve sex/physical appeal with everything.

Ponies are cute, they are innocent and they most of all are ponies, which means we should be able to see them in character and behaviour focus instead of their fitness as a breeding companion. Through this separation from humanoid form they should provide us a chance to assess their actions and judge their character instead of their bodies, so this sexualization of the characters is so very opposite to what the show is meant to provide us: introspection. <-link

With this in mind I hope that at least someone might be able to refocus their mind from the gutter and get something out of the show.

That was Lyra and Bonbon, not Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle. I made the same mistake when I first saw it too.

I understand why that picture was taken out but it is my preference that things I like become something more like something I like, AKA the figure of a woman. I am a boobs kind of man and I will admit that these kinds of art I look at partially for the fact that they do have boobs but that's not the entire reason for it. I do like to see things deviate from the original artstyle in many different ways and I think they are very creative, especially humanized ponies because it's interesting to see how they design different things like the facial expressions and clothing.

So yes, this topic is partially of a sexually attractive nature but it's also of an artistic nature as well. Can't help what I like, ya know? =P

Also, I would like to add that I find the figure of a woman artistically valuable too so it's not an entirely sexual preference either.

I agree with your statement here. Couldn't have said better myself. a +1 from me. :P

Update from my last post in this thread: I do like rule 63 and personifications, but I'm staying with Anthro here, becuase I'm a you know who. it's kind of my second religion (just joking, obiously). And I prefer Female anthros/personifications/63's over male ones. Same goes for MLP fanart.

:P So am I, so there's a connection. I particularly liked that Applejack in my original post.

Besides, I don't see anything wrong with sexualization of ponies because I find it merely compliments them. Not talking about Clopping, of course. Though because of the nature of the show I suppose it's easy to find people who see "A reason to put boobs on something" as a bad thing but I find it to be a very good thing. Both artistically and attractively.

Anthro generally weirds me out. Just feels strange to me. I think humanized is awesome, and regular pony art... but I don't dig anthro unless it's really well done and not, you know... creepy.
