I've just always liked MLP; I still want to see Sea Ponies in FiM cuz that would just be awesome. XD But FiM is the best incarnation as far as I'm concerned, even with the lack of Sea Ponies.

Sea Ponies ROCKED!!!   I had so many of those, but I kept losing the shells they came in.  I was looking at pictures of all the G1 toys, and it brought back SO many memories.  The packaging for those toys was so tacky and bulky.  I know i still have all my G1 toys somewhere, but they're boxed up with everything else.  I keep saying I'm going to go find them for my daughter, but she's very rough with her toys that it almost scares me to give anything G1 to her.

32 Years Old and proud of it.

Yet, I'm not that proud to admit that I did not like the previous generations of My Little Pony.

I have a feeling that I was supposed to, but eh.

Now 1984 Transformers. That's where it was at.

I liked G1 a lot, but I never saw G2, and only barely watched G3, because of my daughter.  I'm not a big fan of G3...the animation style and the personalities of the ponies grated on my nerves.  The first time I saw G4, it was like a HUGE breath of fresh air!

I was more of a fan of the Flutter Ponies from Gen 1 ^^ I thought thier wings where so pretty when they flew around ((hense the name XD)) I am 30 and I am proud mom of 2. What I would like to see in Gen 4 is the Flutter Ponies brought back. ((actually has an idea for my frist ever MLP fan fic for it)) That would be something to see.

Wow, so many people who are 30+!

I'm 22 years old, turning 23 in November. I'll admit that when I was younger I was a bit of a fan of ponies from both Gen 2 & 3, but not as big as the current one right now.

I don't recall what the Flutter Ponies look like exactly, but isn't the clear-winged Rarity that appears in Sonic Rainboom essentially the same thing?  I seem to vaguely remember Hasbro selling a Rarity based on that design when I was pony shopping with my best friend last year.

Well I'm 30 as of last December though I'm told I don't look it or act it :P

I kind of like a 21+ club :P although it does sound a bit too much like those holiday clubs where they go to a heap hotel somewhere hot and just get drunk lol.

I'd suggest a meet-up if we weren't all likely spread across the US, if not the globe. :D

Yes, yes it was. I don;t think it holds up as well today (except the 1986 movie, which is still great) but damn it, I love my memories.

I knew G1, but being a 6 year old boy I really had no interest. To me it was just the go-to present to get for a girl's birthday party. Not sure what to buy her? Get her My Little Pony.

I'll be 25 next month. I have this impression about fellow bronies that they're around my age. I always kind of assume that, and then am surprised when I find out that the people I'm talking to are generally 15-19.

I very vaguely remember G1. I think I used to watch it. I definitely remember having an MLP figurine, though. Can't remember which one, however.

I imagine there's a much larger concentration of older brones in closer proximity to all of us.  What I'd like to find out is if there's a bigger makeup of the older crowd that isn't getting noticed because:

1) They're more likely to hide that fact and/or don't interact nearly as much with the community

2) Spend more time with family or full time job that they don't have the ability to involve themselves

I honestly think the age and gender stats are skewed, but I can't prove otherwise.  Just going off of gut feeling.

Kind of in the newser sense I guess. *shrugs* my avay is of RoseDust from Gen 1. Her wings are shorter but clear. They flutter much like a fairy would, thus why they are Fultter Ponies. Only RoseDust, Morning Glory, and Honeysuckel where ever really seen in the actual tv series in 1986. That might be why some don't really remember them so well ^^

I'd love a meetup, but I'm England based. Hmmph. Ah well, can't be helped. Anyway, I liked the first incarnation of MLP alright but thought the ponies were very vapid and lacked personalities, all cept for Firefly who was my favourite character back then. And I detested the human characters. Whenever I played with my toy ponies, I'd imagine the human characters falling down a cliff or something like that. XD Or ending up replacing the kids in "Dungeons & Dragons" so that the original kids could go home, and the annoying MLP kids get eaten by Tiamat. I was an evil child.

26 here, and I am fan of another girls cartoon show too besides MLP (which idk is commonly considered for girls or?). I also watch serious things that people dont usually bother to watch, so I don't feel bad for watching MLP even the slightest ;)

When they aired first gen ponies, I disliked them, I was like 'lulz what is this sh*t' and I still don't like them, but MLP FiM is <3

I'm 22, and I must emphasize how glad I am that I got into this show after all that high school and peer drama was done and over with.

I'm actually one of those people who thinks that the age range of fans on sites like this are exaggerated to be way older than they are, and that the teenage/still in school fans of this show can kind of get annoying what with their always talking about haters and drama and hiding in closets and parental approval.

A thirteen/fourteen/fifteen year old boy... is not a "bro" to me. There's enough of an age disparity to have a mini-generational difference there.

The reasons you posted here apply to me.  As much as I'd love to have nothing to do all day but sit around and be on the mlpforum.com all day long (and others), I have to juggle a full time job which also pulls into overtime almost every week, being a single parent, and volunteer work at my place of employment (i work at a cancer facility).  While I may have the forum up in my browser to skim through whenever I have a milisecond for downtime, I don't always get to reply.

As far as hiding the fact of being a brony, it's easier to pass unnoticed when you have a young daughter.  Most people in the stores or who see me looking at MLP merch online simply assume I'm doing so for my daughter and don't ask questions.  My friends are fully aware, though, and don't think it's any stranger than my LOTR obsession...so there you go.

I have to agree to an extent; a lot of the peer/family related bullshit in adolescence is only a big deal until you get out of high school.  But once you're out you can see it didn't really matter in the long run, and what was big back then seems smaller now.  I go out in public with one of my Pony-themed T shirts, and you know what happens?  Nothing. People don't generally make a big deal of that after 18, at least not in the open.  Hell, I may even get the occasional brohoof.

I find that in most cases, family comes around to love and accept you no matter what.  And as far as friends?  at some point you find your own crowd.  I'm the only "brony" among my friends, but what are they into?  Anime, Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, comic books, Nintendo systems, etc.  And they're all over 25.  They may not be bronies, but they all get the passion of being part of a geek subculture.

So to any teenagers or younger reading this and worried about all that stuff... try not to sweat it *too* much.  It'll all be over and you'll find your place in the world.

Hay there, Dom here :)

I just turned 22 last month and I gotta say, I kind of feel like I'm more in the lines of a twelve-thirteen year old.

I think I'm a bit too easily excitable and cheery...But I do have those moments of depression however, they don't tend to last too long

Still if there were a meet I'd do my damnedest to get there.

Nice to see so many fans in 20s ;)

Anyway, be yourself and you should be liked for whoever you are, with whatever likings you have. Sounds cheesy but that's it, don\t care in the end (well.. I dont usually let it become known I watch MLP.. so much for my advice lol)

I'll be 26 in April, everyone normally assumes I am much younger though because of my looks. Everyone at work thought I was around 18. I don't ever go clean shaven or else. I guess that will be a nice thing later on, but for now it is super annoying. I sure don't act my age though, never have. I prefer the more mature crowd and now and then I feel as though I am in the wrong time honestly.

Funny you mention that, because even though I'm 30+ almost everyone assumes I'm 20-22 and act that way probably more than I should.  Most of the friends I have that are about my age are like that, you could take a picture of them from 10 years ago and they look the same.  I don't mind it, it's good to lower people's initial expectations sometimes.

I just turned 33, though people usually can't believe I'm out of my early 20's.  I think that's a good thing since I feel like I'm still barely past 21.  Time does fly by fast I will say.  Glad I'm not the only one here entering the 30's.

I'm 34, and I notice a lot of teenagers and college students on the forum. (Well, I'm a college student too, but this is my second go at it). Just wondering if there was any bronies here closer to my age range,or if I'm the oldest of the old fogeys.

Hey Brony! I am Sancho, 23yo male. I am glad to see a few older bronies here. I am a pretty new member in these parts and it is nice to see some people (older than I) that still think ponys kick ass! What is your fave pony of the mane 6?
