Well, the song Discord was what alerted me to two facts: That there was a show called My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and that a bunch of older guys watch it. That got me interested. Anything against the norm gets me interested. So, I listened to the song over and over, heard other songs, got familiar with the 'backstories' of characters like Lyra, and finally watched the show. Honestly, I think I was hooked before I watched the show. So, I watched the first season, but I was so intrigued by Discord that I didn't pay very close attention to it. So, the episodes that hooked me were The Return Of Harmony episodes. And I still love Discord, if that isn't obvious. ^_^

The pilot.

I don't know why, but out of nowhere, I had the strange and uncomprehending urge to start watching the show - even when I was a bit skeptical about the whole "brony" phenomenon - so I did. I was pretty much instantly hooked from the moment I saw all the colorful characters, and heard the wonderfully written songs.

Also, even before I became a brony, I always thought Fluttershy was the cutest thing ever.

@,

Hello there. We happened to have a thread dedicated to sharing which episode first made us appreciate MLP FiM or become a brony. This was fairly similar to the subject of your topic, which was dedicated to sharing how many episodes we had to watch before becoming a fan, and it was extremely common in your thread to simply share an episode as the turning point. As both topics were related to sharing how long we had to watch the show before becoming big fans of it, and as both garnered similar answers, they have been merged together. The combined topic has also been renamed slightly.

I fell in love with my little pony ever since I saw the first episode but I didn't know what a brony or pegasister was until episode 17. Even then I didn't consider myself a pegasister mainly because I didn't think I was a big enough fan compared to the people in the brony community. However when I saw the party of one episode for the first time, watched it 20 more times on the same night then bought a Pinkie Pie toy off the internet I knew I truly was Pegasister. laugh.png

Too Many Pinkie Pies. Although I watched the season 3 premiere first, I still needed a bit more convincing, and Too Many Pinkie Pies delivered! It also just so happens to be my favorite episode out of the whole series.

Ooooh, that is my favorite too!  Not just episode of "My Little Pony," but my favorite anything ever!  I was already a major Brony and in love with Pinkie Pie before that episode aired.  When I heard about it, I was super excited - and I was not disappointed!!!

For me, it was The Super Cider Squeezy 6000. I sort of watched a little bit of the show here and there but that was the one I actually watched beginning to end. After that I stuck around for thenext episode. I think after that I was pretty much hooked. Started catching up with the show on youtube and the rest is history. How about you? What specific episode turned you on to the series?

For me, it was the very first episode.

I immediately knew I'd love this show from the minute I saw the beautiful animations.

Let's just say I was instantly hooked.

Holy crap- it was the exact same way with me- except I used the power of Netflix (MLP in full HD looks oh so good). Ah, I remember it like it was just two weeks ago.... oh wait- it was.

My first episode was probably Nightmare Night. It hooked me big time; that was when I realized that Luna is best princess. :D I was confused, so I started from the beginning.

After I saw the first episode, I was impressed enough to watch some more. But the episode that made me a brony forever was The Return of Harmony.

The second episode of the first season. As soon as I heard "Giggle at the Ghostly" I knew the show I was watching was something awesome and special.

Wow, I just got a flashback of me laying in bed last year at like 2 in the morning thinking "Am I really watching this?" and "I can't believe I'm enjoying this".

A Canterlot Wedding (both parts) it is for me...

I became a brony after the end of season 2, happened to find that and I love those episodes the most (and the song in the end <3).

Well consciously I would have to say either Putting your hoof down which was the first episode I had to wait for instead of watching it on youtube or a Friend in Deed which is when I wanted to see the next episode to see that it wouldn't be for a while.

But subconsciously I would have to say the first two episodes because I then went to watch all the other episodes from that point on (to a Friend in Deed) and then went to wait ever saturday to see the latest episode.

(As well as join these forums and become a brony.)

Season 1 Episode 5. It reminded me of a chapter in my own childhood, so I could relate to it very well, and relate to Pinkie too. Infact it's the episode that actually makes me not hate Pinkie for being so OTT headache inducing. That's the one that got me hooked.

But the one that turned that hook into an addiction is  season 1 episode 9.

Scrumpy is cider made in the West Country of England,[1] particularly a band through Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, though it may also be found in Kent, Sussex and East Anglia. The term is especially used to distinguish those made locally in smaller quantities and using traditional methods from mass-produced branded ciders.

Friendship is Magic: Part 2

It was the Manticore that did it. It was then supercharged by the upcoming sea serpent. I love mythology, and when it plays a part in a show, I usually love that show.

I got hooked some point during the first episode of season one. I knew I had been pulled into the brony culture the moment I realized that I wanted to watch the second part. I think what pulled me in was a mix of the story, the art style, the characters and the surprising overall quality.

I got hooked when I was watching the first episode. So I had to watch the next one, and the one after that. Eventually I watched every episode to the end of Season 2, and then I couldn't wait for season 3.

First episode of the first season. I started there and was hooked. I found the characters had their own little quirks which made them unique from each other and likable. Can't forget about the animation either. It looked very colorful and smooth which made it all the more enjoyable and a nice sight for my eyes.
