Personally I'm a heathen, I pray to the Norse Gods.

Somehow though my life led me to the Gods of the North. It's a religion that gives me confort, courage and strenght.

The Æsir an ther home of Asgard are very interesting indeed are they not?

Admittingly I see them as I do all pantheons of mythology, worthy of studying and interest but stories created by those seeking understanding of the world around them.

I admit I kinda wish works of fiction would not vilify Loki so much, yes after killing another Æsir and being punished he would bring about Ragnarök but before then he was an extremely valued if troublesome member of the Æsir.

Simple. Just post in your religion. If its not included, quote this post and tell me what it is. I'll add it.

you forgot about the eight divine and daedric worshippers

there are people who believe in them too you know

like I mean you can't leave out people who believe in video game Gods

Jew here, living in Israel like a king B) Though I'm not very religious, I celebrate holidays with my family and all but I don't really believe in god, or in most of the rules of Judaism :P

I worship Celestia...  worshipping the rising sun makes more sense than most other religions these days.

All I just have to do is be nice and watch MLP, Cider drinking isn't mandatory but encouraged.

I'm a Christian. My family aren't devoted Christians, like they are Christians, but they don't talk about it often, and we don't go to church. I go to a Christian school, though, so I learned more there. I wouldn't say I'm a full-on Christian, but I do pray often and I believe in God and Jesus.

Lutheran, I guess... I didn't even know there was a word for that O_O

Well, the Swedish Church is in the list of lutheran churches, so I guess... But we're not really like other churches. I'm too lazy to write everything down, and I might be wrong too, but well... Whatevah.

I was being bulied during high-school, and I was never really happy during my elementary school at all... I mean, I wasn't really happy during years 1-9, I had few, or no friends. But in 8th grade, when the confirmation started, I WAS REALLY HAPPY, every time I visited the church, or did something with church. It didn't take long until I was completely converted from "somewhat-atheistic" to "really-believing".

I could tell you more, but it's so much noone would want to read it... I guess, if someone wants to read a lot, or is just interested, send me a PM or something!

Atheist but I'm curious about Buddhism. I've bumped into Buddhist references several times in topics that are relevant to my interests. Some of you may remember hearing the name Gabor Maté from me. In his lectures I've come across a few Buddhist references; one being about mindful awareness. Another reference from him being the title of one of his books In The Realm Of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters With Addiction. The hungry ghost is a Buddhist concept of a creature with large bellies, small mouths and scrawny necks so that no matter how much they keep on consuming, they can never fill that emptiness.

Then there was this soundclip from a scene in a movie... K-Pax I believe. This scene with an alien and a psychiatrist I believe. Another Buddhist reference of the stupidity of an eye for an eye. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Now I wonder where I can look to learn more about Buddhism.

Agnostic.

I mean, the concepts of all the major religions just sound ridiculous to me, so I just don't care. I mean, I think religion is just a pacifier to that burning question of "Why am I here?"

Either that, or just something to use as leverage. Kids go to youth groups, and say that they're learning about god, but in reality, they just want to hang out with their friends and don't pay any attention when it comes to learning about their religion.

And on Sunday, a bunch of old people go to church, because they know they're dying and are just trying to save face before their time's up.

I don't even count Atheism or Agnostcism as religions, but I'm leaning more on becoming Atheist each day. I don't like the way people handle religion.

And don't even get me started on those religious nuts who use the bible to mask their own hate and prejiduce, knowing people are too scared to argue it...ughh, makes me sick.

"An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind."

I think thats the your talking about. Buddism does sound interesting, but it asks me to give up things I haven't even experienced yet. And to be honest 'enlightment' is overrated at the best of times anyway. :P

I was a Roman Catholic, but I became agnostic or deist in the navy, both my friends and the harsh reality of military service, plus the lewd society I saw when I came back, made me feel disappointed and I began to stop believing. I have nothing against the normal worshipper, it's the radicals I have a problem with, as they try to force their heinous thoughts on others, either locally or nationally, such subjugation does look like slavery, as it forces us to go against our natural instincts, all the while calling it god's will when it's the radical's will. I can not nor will not impose my will on others, I believe people should live as they like, without scrutiny from government or clergy, nor those who would use those powers to force compliance, a community is formed of various backgrounds and believes, and new ideas to keep the community successful and together, so no matter what you believe in, if it's not harmful let it be.

I was too, but I don't consider myself under that faith. I probably broke my baptism with many years of sin too. lol

I don't really have a set faith though.

I'm what they call "agnostic". I believe in some kind of religion but at the same time, I don't believe in it. I think both creation and evolution have equal chance of being true(granted, evolution has more concrete evidence, but still).

I do have some Buddhism in me because of the "middle path" and all of that. This kind of explains why I'm agnostic.

I was baptized as well, but I don't consider myself a Christian anymore. A ceremony that was carried out before I even had any semblance of knowing what was happening around me isn't something I would lend any weight to when determining what religion I follow, if any.

NOTE: I'm not badmouthing Christians in particular. What I am saying is that I do not agree with the religion's customs.

I can relate to that.

Ahh tell me about it, the wonderful feeling of dumping Catholicism in the trash. It's like getting rid of a heavy burden.

I too was baptized as a baby, and I made my first communion as well but I don't believe in anything or associate myself with any religion.

The same applies to me.

I don't really see it as a burden, It never was forced on me. My parents never went to church, the only reason I was baptized was because my grandparents wanted it. I never was told what to believe, just taught to keep an open mind and form my own. It lead me to being very spiritual. Though I went through an atheist phase, I didn't stay that way for very long.

I'm not surprised that "Christian" and "Atheist" are the top two picks, though i am surprised that "Atheist" is the top pick. Odd considering the fact that many of the characters represent virtues within the average Christian.

Well my parents are really devote and stuff, actually my family is pretty religious. My elder siblings aren't religious and that kinda annoys my parents. So yes, I did have it shoved down my throat.

Well the majority of regular internet users tend to be irreligious.

Yeah, atheism seems to be pretty prevalent. But then, combined, the spiritual side outnumbers them still, it's just a diverse mixture on the spiritual side.

Atheism is on the rise everywhere. It's kinda comforting knowing that I'm not only atheist at my school. Though, I've met a bunch more agnostics than atheists.

I personally can't follow Atheism, I need to believe something's going to keep going on after I leave this world, or I lose sleep over it. Straight up, it terrifies me to believe I just go unconscious forever. Even if that's what it is, I choose to think positive to stay sane. XD

Or maybe It's more like choosing to be insane, so that I don't go sane? Either way, you know what I mean. :P

Well for me it's more of a "I don't believe in anything and I'm going to try my best to get the most out of life", it's also quite liberating for me. The freedom of being able to eat meat on Friday and have those so called "lustful" thoughts without feeling guilty. x)

That's always a good way to be. I still embrace all that as well. About the only thing I restrict myself from doing is living a lie and ending something's life needlessly. Take only what I need to live, and live comfortably within my means. That is pretty well where I am, and I'd say that's about all I could ask for. :)

I steal, kill, and rape all I want, and that amount is zero. I don't need some book or whatever telling me what's right and wrong, I've figured it out myself and it's easy as well.

Yeah, I have no books either. :P Just my life experiences, and my parental guidance from childhood. They made sure I was a good boy.. mostly. XD
