This anime/manga is one of the best i've seen. Seriously, i've never seen an anime that well done and only few come close when it comes to its kind. Only other one I can think of is Code Geass. Both are amazing but I would still choose Death Note over Code Geass. However I haven't watched them in a while. Been a little busy with Sword Art Online. Good anime but the last few episodes go a little too far. By too far I mean almost like Elfen Lied too far.

Death Note is like something written by Shakespeare, lol. I've always loved the series, and it just gets better. My favorite character is Mello. I also recommend you watch more of the show though, there are some nice variations between it and the manga.

I LOVE the first theme song :) I also love how complicated some of the plans the characters make are. Sometimes I'll read what Light's planning to do and I'll just be like "Wut?"

I happen to be on book 7. This is possibly the best anime/manga thing I have ever read, I have seen the first few episodes, I thought they were...I guess you could say "On the same level" as the manga  . As I read the first books, I began to take the mangas to school and have been telling people who question me, "Go read it. Or I will love and tolerate you to death." But, yeah. Death Note is awesome.

I love both L and Light. Both are extremely cunning and make perfect opponents for each other. I myself still have a hard time with fully understanding their plans but when they come to success at times its pretty much a, "holy crap" moment for me.

I have heard of it and most of my friends that watch that kind of stuff say it is really good.

I don't want anime that much but if i ma going to start then that is the first series i ma going to watch out of all of them unless you got a better series you could recommend to me! :3

It's a shocking good show (I haven't read the manga). It's very refreshing to see a show that dabbles in the supernatural engage our technological world directly instead of sidelining or suspending it. It treats both sides with due respect and regard. It's fascinating how logic is used to reduce seemingly-impossible situations down to near-certainties and how such emphasis is placed on simply having an often tiny yet crucial piece of information. I very much love this show and place it in my top echelon of fiction.

My friends and I were looking through Best Buy's anime section one day, and my more anime-obsessed friend picked up a copy of Code Geass and said, "This is good if you thought Death Note didn't have enough giant robots."

Very few statements are more accurate.

totally love death note, well I only love the first season lol after L's death I couldn't stand it anymore. and I really only watched it for the sake of finishing it.   I love L's odd habits and how he claims sugar  helps his brain power :D  lol

Can't say i've ever watched it myself, I've heard of it from others and heard about the whole concept. It sounds interesting I guess, Maybe I'll look into it sometime.

But as of now I haven't. If I do though i'll probably watch it, i'm not much the type for reading :P.

I've heard of the Deathnote manga/anime, and I'm planning to start watching the anime soon. Is it good? I like shonen jump's manga, and I read the author's other series, Bakuman.

I used to watch the anime, but then I missed a few episodes or so and was forever lost afterwards.

There was no way I was recovering from that. :/

It's a really good show though. I should totes restart it someday.

I read the manga when I was much younger, but I didn't really like it that much. ;)

Glad to see that you all do, though!

It's certainly nice to have something that makes you happy.

Always off-topic and always derailing.

Watched the anime about three times, never read the manga (despite it CLEARLY being on the manga section in my school library). Me and a friend have been accustomed to calling each other names from the show. I'm Aizawa (because I grow afros...) and he's Matsuda because he can be silly sometimes.

Also, I'm just gonna say this because no one has yet.

MATSUDA YOU IDIOT

I've watched this anime before. I really liked L, Near, and Light, but my liking for Light ended when he first picked up the Death Note. Which wasn't for very long. If I existed in that world, I would've died because I either opposed Kira or I helped Light in someway and was being used for his own ends.

As for Near and L, they're both funny and cute!

I have seen a couple episodes and read little bits of the books but I have never really gotten into it.

My sister went through this faze where she LOVED Death Note...The kind of Love where she got a few of the Original Japanese books...And she doesn't know how to speak Japanese.

As a matter of fact, yes. It's one of my favorite manga. I haven't ever seen anything else like it since I finished it. I haven't ever seen the anime mostly because it takes too long to watch, but the series as a whole is amazing. My favorite characters are probably L and Matsuda (cause he's a beast). I can't wait to talk about it with some of you who are still working on finishing it.

Death Note!! I haven't read the manga but have watched every episode of the anime twice. My favorite anime of all time. The ending made me cry with Light running down the street crying and with those flashbacks. That scene was just so sad. But L is better than Light if you want my opinion on that and he also has the best theme of any anime character ever.

Oh and how I could forget

Only other one I can think of is Code Geass. Both are amazing but I would still choose Death Note over Code Geass.

I also love Code Geass! But yeah I think I would choose Death Note over Code Geass
