My parents would always tell me about how I could just sit in front of the TV all day and watch Monsters Inc. when I was small. I still watch it every now and then when I see it on TV or something. I absolutely hate the idea of the new one "Monsters University" though, that's just ruining it.

My parents did that to me when my mom went into labour with my brother lol! Two full days of every Disney movie the library had at the time! When they finally got home I had Bambi memorized! And I was only 3!!! (At 23 all I remember now is Thumper's line though lol)

Oh, and The Black Cauldron.

 

Finally! Somebody who's a fan of The Black Cauldron! Totally underrated masterpiece that was ahead of it's time, no doubt.

 

Also, I liked The Lion King 1 1/2. I usually don't like Disney sequels (except The Return of Jafar was pretty good) but the storyline was really superb.

While I did enjoy Disney a while back, I have a meh opinion on it now. They can make good movies now but chances are, I might not see it.

Eh, like I said a while back, Lion King 2 really had a bland plotline. It just seemed too cliche to have a Romeo and Juliet-esque and the musicals weren't anything to get excited about. If anything, I liked Lion King 1 1/2 a lot more since it satirizes both movies in such a clever way hah.

 

But LK1 definitely was a good Disney movie. It's probably my second favorite next to Fantasia.

I meant to say 1 1/2 in that post then. That's what happens when you lose track of sequels you haven't seen in years.

 

Speaking of which, I also said that my favorite movie before was Fantasia 2000 but then looked back and thought, "Fuck! Not the new one!" so I had to change it.

My favorites are Beauty and the Beast (I had a crush on Belle when I was young) and Alice in Wonderland.

One summer I watched Alice in Wonderland every single morning. I was obsessed with it.

I am and will always be a Disney fan. I love Uncle Walt dearly and refer to Disney as him as an individual. As much as I despise DC, except for Gravity Falls, of course, Disney is my #1 fandom (sorry, MLP).

Glad to see Hunchback getting so much love, that was truely one of their best films. Still they tend to have a lot of classics like Lion King, Emperor's New Groove, Mulan, Hercules, etc. 

Not to mention, almost everything Pixar touches is gold(I've never seen Cars 2, so I can't say anything about it)

 

And lastly, how can there be Disney thread without the mention of Recess? That show rocked!

Disney's made some pretty cool stuff, the most memorable thing I watched when i was young was proably Lion King. I also watched beauty and the beast to.

 

Of course I've watched others, but those where the two I remember watching back when I was little.

 

And ironically enough I hadn't been to Disney until like 2 years ago. It was a pretty cool experience. We spent like a day in each park.

One of my recent favorite movies is Tangled. I also love a lot of the older films, Sleeping Beauty for instance. I pretty much like all the disney movie really. It's hard to choose a favorite, but I have a soft spot for Tangled in particular. I know that isn't not done in the usual style of past Disney animated movies but I love it so much. The scene where Rapunzel and Flynn are on the boat with all the lanterns around them.. so many warm fuzzies to be had.

Lion King.  Ah, I LOVE that movie so much.  That's absolutely one of my favorites.

 

I also was fairly fond of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty.  Although in Sleeping Beauty, it was more for the villain to be quite honest.  Maleficent was awesome and still stands as one of my favorite villains.  I also -really- liked Aladdin.

 

Hmm... if I had to settle with one, it'd definitely be The Lion King, though. <3

I grew up with 2 elder sisters so practically my entire childhood revolved around Disney movies. That's why I'm such a die-hard fan of good animation. Hmmm, my favorite Disney movies would be The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Toy Story Series, The Lion King, The Emperor's New Groove, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Mulan, Hercules and the list goes on. Latest favorites are Brave and Wreck-it-Ralph. You're never too old for Disney classics.

As a kid I wasn't really interested in humans, and I hated princessy things anyway, so most of my favorite Disney movies feature animals as main characters. There are exceptions, though.

My faves are Dumbo, Lilo & Stitch, Lady and the Tramp, Lion King, Atlantis, Aladdin, Bolt, Tangled, 101 Dalmatians... and does anyone remember Dinosaur? That was the first realistically animated movie I saw (AND I loved dinosaurs), and oh god, I loved it so.  

I hated old Disney movies with princesses though, like Cinderella and so. (Snow White was okay because it was scary. )

Oh wow, Dinosaur. Now there's a movie that doesn't get mentioned that often. I remember a PS1 game I had for it that I'd play a lot. That movie was pretty good, it's been a while since I've last seen it though.

Just got back from Disney in Paris, and if any of you ever go, I spotted something that made me smile.

 

On the que for Rock and Rollercoaster, if you look to the left (While outside) at the higher concrete path at the edge somepony has wrote "keep calm and brony on". This made my day.

I love that they managed to combine the depth of 3D movies with the look and feel of classic 2D animations.

I hate disney because they decided to keep such an amazing piece of software proprietary

The only movies that I found remotely "immoral" or not up to kid-friendly standards was Home on the Range, just because, you know, they didn't even attempt to do valid research on culture thus leading to vast amounts of stereotyping.

Not the movies. The company, itsself. It's the same thing that happens to most companys that are founded with good intentions. Once the founder passes on, it becomes more of a struggle to get as much money as possible than actually being morally and ethically sound.

 

Same thing happened to Walmart when Sam Walton died. It still produces quality product, but you ask anyone who worked when Sam was in charge and they'll tell you it was a whole different atmosphere then working there, now.

I think the only Disney movie I grew up with and loved was Atlantis: The Lost Empire. If Pixar counts, I also grew up with countless Pixar movies.

 

There are still some great movies today, though.
