If I had to choose, I would probably pick to be a pony. They're too sentient for me to own one...seems too much like slavery or abduction. So I would say that I would want to be a pony and then I could have fun in Equestria :D

What fun is there in making sense?

These conditions seem very specific :P

With enough research.. as a unicorn i should be able find the magical link to Equestria and experiment in forging a gateway to it.. Though it may take a long time

In the meantime i would need to practice and learn how to use magic to the best of my ability.. whilst not over exerting myself, or I'll loose my magic forever.. hopefully i can develop some light altering spell to use as a disguise, by making light behave as if i weren't under its influence i would be invisible to the naked eye or standard cameras.. Hmmm..

I'd become a pony and go to Equestria as a magical Unicorn. A badass and awesome magical Unicorn. Not one that eats rainbows and poops butterflies, though.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. I have to vote "neither" simply because my decision between those two options would be very circumstantial.

For instance, I'd never want to turn into a pony with no hope of changing back for two simple reasons.

Firstly, it's unpredictable. I have no clue how it feels to be a pony, and with that in mind, I can't know if it's a feeling I'd particularly like. I've never had hooves, a tail, a snout, and many of the other physical attributes of the ponies of the show. That would probably mean it would take a fair amount of time to get used to walking with four legs, holding things with hooves and the like, and I’m not even sure if that sort of intuitive coordination can be learned as an adult.

Secondly, I think I’d miss being a human. My friends are human, my family is human, my memories are of human origin, and on top of that, fingers are just way too awesome. I don’t really want to go to the trouble of learning how to play the piano all over again with hooves. :P

That being said, if I got to try the whole being-a-pony-forever thing for a day beforehand, there’s the possibility I might change my mind, although I doubt I would. If, however, I was offered the ability to transform into a pony and back at will, I’d totally be up for that! Now, on to the other option.

I’m not a pet person, so “having” a pony play that sort of role wouldn’t be something I’d be comfortable with. I don’t consider myself capable of caring for a pet to the extent it needs to be cared for, so having a pony in that sense wouldn’t really suit me. If we’re just talking about having a pony companion, that’d actually be pretty darn cool though.

There are more factors I’d be considering than just these few in the scenario I’d be making this decision, but in the end, if I was forced to decide between only the first two options, I’d probably go with having a pony.

Although, since there’s a “neither” option, I’m going with that just to be safe.

I'm happy being a human considering I love meat and ponies don't eat that, and I like having opposable thumbs. Having a pony sounds like they'd be more of a pet than a friend. I wouldn't want to rip them from their own environment just to be with me. So, I'll go with neither.

I myself don't think I would take either - it would hurt greatly transforming into a pony. And it would be selfish if I had one al tto myself. Especially having to make it adapt to the environment of England.

  • 4 years later...

Becoming an animal is a curiosity I've harbored for years. Horses were a big one, and that was before FiM. Now I think about it quite a lot.

But with the stipulation that you have zero chance of reaching Equestria, I dunno.

If I could go to Equestria then I'd definitely choose to go through the pain to do that, but since I can't go to Equestria I'd rather just have a pony.   That'd be interesting I think.

I don't want to abandon my home, so I'd choose "have a pony". Maybe Twilight would even be able to cast some spell that would make others either perceive her as a human or just ignore the extremely unusual sight of a talking pony.

Living with Twilight in one house would probably cause problems (though we may come to some sort of agreement), but that is still way better than transforming into a pony (painful or not) and then having no choice but to go away. While I would most likely like living in an abandoned missile silo hidden from everyone I still want to be able to go to some shops etc, that is, I would not be forced to hide there.
