Nope, cousins you love and haven't been able to talk to in a year :D

I'm gonna hafta agree with Zoop on this one. Never have I been pleased to see one of my family members.

But I don't have to worry about it cause we don't do much at thanksgiving... I do get free turkey at wal-mart though :) (The managers aren't entirely intolerable :P)

My family parties usually only include close family...we don't usually invite who's just gonna make it feel awkward.

Back to cooking...

we have Turkey of course, pie, cake, marshmallows, that cranberry stuff :P, home made french fries, rice, sausages and a bunch of dips and drinks...my mom and sisters cook all of this :P

  • 2 weeks later...

I love cooking. My Grandfather used to be a professional chef, so I have been gifted to learn a lot of tricks from him. Right now I love adding this to pretty much everything I eat.

Hate to bring up an old post, but I just found this chart that sums it up pretty well.

I am making a pot pie in the oven and it will take 40 min.

Or I could microwave for 5....

Oven.

You made the correct decision.

Microwaves exist only for boiling water and reheating leftover pizza.

I like to cook but I am no good at it....

Like today I tried to make pancakes and got one out of 3 :

At least my scrambled eggs turned out well.

Pancakes are easy once you learn how to make the batter and when to flip them :D

The hard part is the flipping. Once you get good at that, it is easy peasy!

Omelets are the same way.

Tonight I am thinking on making some homemade gourmet pizza with all organic ingredients. Stuff like Mozzarella cheese, maple syrup, italian sausage, beef, and so much more! And Garlic bread on the side.

I have never been able to flip an omelete...it always falls apart D:

Well I know how to make the batter the thing is flipping them at the right time.

Well how do you make the batter, thick or thin?

Depending on which way will make it either harder or easier to flip.

You'll get it one day, I have faith in you! All you got to do is try over and over lol.

Making it thicker would make it heavier which can be harder, as it is more weight to handle. But it needs to be thick enough so it doesn't tear apart during the flip.

I don't know how to get the eggs to cook like an omelete. it's a liquid so it always spreads out too thin D:

Or use a tin cylinder to contain a small number of eggs. We Frenchies call it "poached/pocketed" (poché) egg, dunno if it has an English name.

Oh, I sometimes use meat/chicken juice for soup instead of just water.

Or I pour it on rice so it haz flavor. I even did that for mashed potato once, though I didn't really taste the difference.

I do the same, from time to time.

And not to sound strange, or anything...

But does anyone else here ever pour large quantities of teriyaki sauce over macaroni salad? I don't know how or why, but they go amazingly well together in my opinion.
