   Applejack was the second pony after Rainbow Dash, I came to know by name and appearance, so she became one of my favourites from the onset. Applejack is too much overlooked, because she is an earth pony, not as appealing as the pegasi or unicorns, neither does she have the rumbustious energy of Pinkie Pie, but does that stop Applejack? No, with grace and determination Applejack will prevail, no matter what the odds, yet even if she can't handle something on her own, at last Applejack would plead for help, and that is her real strength, out of the mane six, Applejack is the most mature and responsible pony, she is quick to apologise and make amends, in particular with her family the Apples. I like the fact Applejack and her family own land, and produce the fruits of labour, which is something I respect and desire, I want to grown crops on lots of land, my background is agriculture, I love the freedom of having all of those hectares of land, although I live partly in the city, like Applejack I will one day go back to the farm. Applejack is honest enough, she is honest with her family and her friends to an extent, but we avoid telling the truth to avoid hurting someone's feelings, we have all done this before, so Applejack is more honest that people give her credit, so she has more aptitude for the truth that the fans give her, moreover Applejack has quite a family, I admit I wish I had a family like the Apples, where we can have a good time, and help out with distress and labour, sadly like society my family experience fission, so that is why Applejack has become my favourite sensitive pony, her hospitality will be given as if you were family, which can be more than just blood relatives, but people coming together and easing the tension of so long life, so Applejack can be stubborn and arrogant to quote the fans gripes with her, Applejack is the first pony I would like to meet, especially if I had a bad day, she would be there and much you would be there for her.

I really hope that after this episode she will get more love It looks like writers finally start to acknowledge her character and make something new with her <3 And as her fan I couldn't be more happy! And the amount of fan arts this episode caused is wonderful *.*

I agree.    I enjoy it very much whenever they take a Mane 6 character and have them deviate from their usual stereotypical role...provided it's for a good cause.    And they did a great job with Applejack here who helped Rarity see how foolishly she was behaving.

When I joined the Fandom I had chosen Rainbow Dash as my favorite.  Over time tho, and re-watching of episodes, I can honestly say Applejack in Best Pony.
