This episode was boss! It just showed the true side of Rarity, and eveything felt just so natural!

 

Sweetie was portrayed very realistic, she is a child after all, and everything Sweetie did in this episode could also happen with a real child. Luna was boss, i really like her in this mentor roles! The visuals where boss!

 

And the fabulous one was the obaboss! She was just so nice, considerate and generous! She was just so.... best pony...

Of course, though, she's gotten a lot of praise this season!!

Yeah the new episode was really great. Rarity was portrayed really well in it, and even though it was mostly more of a Sweetie Belle episode I feel it was very much an episode about the sisters' relationship as a whole as well.

It gave best sisters a lot of development, and it filled in the cracks people kept trying to put in their relationship with granite, pretty much

 

It was an amazing episode that gave them a lot of development and only cemented their (already cemented) spot as best sisters

How about if i show you how she has been generous, and you show me how she has not? 

 

Anyway.... 

 

Cut her tail off, even though it is very important for her to look always prim and proper and it is very precious for her. Made dresses for the Mane 6. Revised those dresses for them, without complaining. Made a fashion show for them. Continued to make this fashion show even though it would make her work look bad to an important designer which could have ruined her career. Was willing to test a untested spell on herself, so that she and her friends could cheer Rainbow on. Made Spike a bow tie out of gems. Made Owloishoushishusshabaladingdong also one. Did not antagonize Fluttershy in her modeling career, because she thought is would be her dream. She even saved Flutters reputation in the end. Was willing to make herself dirty (something she has a great fear of), to bond with her sister again. Made the mane 6 capes. Was unwilling to give up the fire ruby Spike gave her, not because of greed, but because it was his gift to her, even if it could mean her death. She was torn between her desire to become popular in canterlot or be with her friends, she choosed her friends in the end, even if it could have meant total career suicide. She, RD and Twie risked their lives in dragon territory to watch over Spike. She and Pinkie forgave Flutters the instults the latter threw at them after she took Iron Wills confidence course. She was willing to forgive the fact that Sweety stole Raritys diary and printed it in the newspaper. In fact Rarity was the only of the mane6 who reacted in an constructive and adult manner after it was revealed that the cmc was gubby gums. She told Sweety that what she did was wrong and why it was wrong. She told her that an Cutiemark that was gained by hurting other ponies feelings would not be worth it. The others just cried, did't speak with them, put up a forcefield or drenched them in rain. Rarity did go camping with her sister, even though she hated the nature and the dirt. Made a toupee for a donkey, gave spike gems because he helped with gemhunting, ripped an gem of an expensive saddle she made to give it to spike, worked like crazy to make Cadences special crystal-empire-hairdo, and she restored precious tapestries. 

 

I need to revisit that list, there are sure some things i forgot. 

 

You know, im not saying she is perfect, and she sure falls short of her element sometimes, but the other Mane6 do too, something many seem to forget most of the time. And whats that with the free stuff? Just because you are generous you are not allowed to get gifts in return?

Made all of her friends dresses for the gala free of charge, and they kept complaining about how they looked and how they wanted them to look, which made her dresses look horrible in front of some huge name in the fashion business.

When Twilight wanted to try out a new spell that she had never done before and warned it could have possible side effects if botched, Rarity readily subjects herself to the spell, so she can go cheer on Rainbow Dash at her flying competition.

 

S01E20: Green isn't Your Color

 

Keeps quiet about her jealousy of Fluttershy's newfound fame in the fashion business, something she had been trying to accomplish before the show even started. After Fluttershy stumbles and trips on the runway and the crowd turns against her, Rarity begins cheering to save her friend, despite feeling it should've been her making it big instead of Fluttershy.

 

S01E25: A Party of One

 

Purposely ruins her mane, which she's extremely proud of, in order to keep Pinkie's surprise party a secret.

 

S02E05: Sisterhooves Social

 

After making a mistake in the way she took care of her sister, she hid IN MUD in order to complete a race with her sister for forgiveness, when all and all, it was just siblings fighting over trivial matters, like EVERY siblings do.

 

S02E08: Mysterious Mare Do Well

 

Makes 4 costumes for her friends to wear in their mission of bringing a borderlining on narcissism Rainbow Dash back down to earth.

 

S02E09: Sweet & Elite

 

When it came down to it, she chose her unsophisticated Ponyville friends over the Canterlot Ponies, who she had dreamt of fitting in with.

Spares the feelings of a horny baby dragon who stole half of the city and kidnapped her, even going as far to kiss him on the cheek.

Rides a damn whatever you call that thing all the way back to Ponyville with an extremely repetitive Pinkie Pie due to Rainbow Dash's negligence.

 

S02E19: Putting Your Hoof Down

 

Tries helping Fluttershy learn how to stand up for herself, and welcomes Fluttershy back after she attacks her dreams.

 

S02E21: Dragon Quest

 

Attempts to stand up for Spike when the other 5 laugh at his apron. Creates a huge costume so RD, Twilight and herself could follow him to make sure he was alright. Stands directly behind Rainbow Dash's flank the entire time they're hiding, without complaining. Prepares to fight dragons in yet another attempt to stand up for Spike.

 

S02E25: A Canterlot Wedding

 

Makes a ton a fricken' dresses for the wedding, free of charge.

 

S03E01: The Crystal Empire

 

In order to buy time for Twilight, makes a bunch of hats and shit out of hay and straws. Does a very good job at it, I might add.

 

S03E12: Games Ponies Play

 

Takes the extremely difficult job of preparing Cadence's mane in the intricate detail it had to be done in, with only 15 minutes of time left. Also does a good job.

 

(Note: Rarity got screwed in Season 3. I assure you Season 4 will be different.)

 

Equestria Girls:

 

Makes dressed for them to all wear to the dance free of charge. Helps clean up the gym so Twilight could when the crown that night, despite hating messes. After Sunset Playdough-Hair ruins Twilight's reputation, tries helping Twilight go incognito until it can be fixed. Share her idea and Wondercolt's costume with the rest to change Twilight's horrid reputation.

That's a lot of good deeds. If you expect the ponies to represent their elements every episode, and if you dislike them for not doing so, you should really only be a Twilight and a Pinkie fan, in my opinion.

Rarity can be vain and shallow.

 

Rainbow Dash can also be shallow (Yeahh, you can be my pet, but only if you fly!), and instead of vain, arrogant.

 

Twilight Sparkle can be too obsessive.

 

Applejack can be stubborn and far too competitive.

 

Pinkie lacks seriousness and is socially imbalanced.

 

Fluttershy is also socially imbalanced and her shyness makes her a pushover.

 

So...they all have flaws. Big whoop. It's what makes them good characters. If you dislike a pony for her flaws, fine, but be careful with the way you word it; it can offend people. (I wrote a whole blog about this, I think.)

Honestly, I get it if you don't share that interest, but that is no reason to hate her, and, yes, I've seen that be a reason.

 

I'm not into books. Do I hate Twilight? No.

 

I'm not all that into sports. Do I hate Rainbow Dash? No.

 

Hell, I'm not even all that into fashion, but Rarity is still my favorite pony, because it makes me happy to have her be my favorite pony, just like it makes you happy to have a different favorite pony, and, even though I may disagree, I don't hold it against people if they dislike Rarity. I only hold it against them when they're just plain mean about it.

Please stop Trolling the Rarity fans. We've got the 5th smallest fanbase out of the mane 6, it's just cowardly to pick on the little guy. We already all get enough trolling as is, just for being Bronies. Don't stoop down to their level. We're better than that.

Trying to Look Intelligent

 

I understand if you don't like Rarity, but if you're going to give her character a negative review, you may be trying to look intelligent.

 

Which is fine.

 

Just know it's not considered intelligent to regurgitate what everyone else has already said. Intelligence is seen in leaders, not followers. Are followers dumb? No. But people would assume you to be more intelligent if you're:

A. Not cussing and being rude

 

B. Saying things that haven't been said all too much.

 

Which, the only reasons I've EVER seen, as a dedicated Rarity fan, are the ones I've listed.

*by which I mean that she does not get enough episodes. Rarity episodes are fantastic as a rule.

 

As we see with Sweetie's birthday party, long before she met any of her friends and had any of her character development, Rarity was a kind soul who was always willing to offer up her time and energy to help make life better.

 

Really, if I were to pick any of the Mane 6 to be my role model? It'd be her in a heartbeat. I think that she has a fabulous sense of style and understands that valuing it is not a bad thing, making it her life goal to do just that, because beauty makes the world brighter and because she wants every pony to be as beautiful as they can be. Rarity works hard, and from Season 1...

Lotsa fashion designers wear glasses of that sort in order to see the stitches they're making so they can be more precise

 

As for the style, those are probably just more or less for aesthetic detail  

 

I promise you, though, if they were considered "old woman's glasses" in Equestria, then she wouldn't be wearing them She knows her fashion.

But unfortunately there has to be someone who has to ruin everything. I ripped this from the comments section in a Youtube review of the episode:

 

"I think Sweetie's actions were justified, though, in spite of everyone claiming that they weren't. Rarity up and pulled a Suri on her sister, by taking designs that weren't hers and tailoring them to her own design and then taking all the credit for them. Sweetie never asked for the dresses to be redesigned, because she wanted to do things herself (which is why she put off on asking Rarity for help in the first place, and was so adamant on dong things herself) I feel annoyed that Rarity didn't learn a lesson about this, especially after "Rarity Takes Manehattan". I like how the writers made RariBelle's conflict similar to CeLuna's and got to how Luna felt on the issue"

I absolutely LOVED this weeks episode! Rarity was awesome and was shown in a really good light, thank goodness. So no defending of her should be necessary.

Well, the same guy posted here in the episode thread and on Equestria Daily. And people wonder why sometimes Rarity fans lash out at these people... :okiedokielokie:

 

Rarity just can't win for some people. If she had refused to help Sweetie, that same guy would have said that she is a bitch for not helping her little sister. If she just had improved some little things like this guy says she should have, check the seams and buttons, the dresses would have still looked terrible and Belle would have been a laughing stock. Would have been Rares fault too, clearly.

Rarity did what she did to help her sister. Sweets asked her for her help and was then nowhere to be seen to give Rarity instructions on HOW to make them better. She just gave Rarity her dresses and basically said to make them better, and she did just that. The dresses where such a mess that she couldn't really do much other than give them her own spin... Sweets first draft just had no concept to them, they where rags. I don't know what that guys problem is...

 

And if Sweets wanted to make everything herself so badly, why ask Rarity for help in the first place? Why let the dresses at her place for her to fix them? Why not just ask for suggestions and make the changes herself?

Rarity is a perfectionist, she does not fix things "a little bit".
