Of all the gala outfits i liked Raritys the most. It just is so... her.

 

I especially like the puffy skirt and the short sleeves. Makes the whole ensemble look really elegant and a little bit baroque. This outfit really makes her look like the princess she is.

So, just finished the Nightmare Rarity Arch... I kinda liked it lol. The setup during the nightmares were really good, I love how Luna & Spike were actually important & used for something in the arch, & I don't think NMR was THAT bad of a villain... Better than Sombra, that's for sure... Still think she has one of the best designs in terms of villains in the MLP universe... I mean yeah, it could have been better, NMR could have been more fleshed out than just Nightmare Moon 2.0 but... Nightmare Moon 2.0 isn't a bad thing, necessarily. Overall, not a perfect arch but... I don't think I am going to agree with ghostie on this one, I still like Nightmare Rarity. Sorry

As much as a good character design helps, I don't think that "having a good design" (which, she does) makes up for how poorly she was written and how they managed to make a 3 dimensional character a flatter than paper villain with boring lines. They also already used the Nightmare thing before. I hated it, and even though she has a good design, that doesn't - or shouldn't - make up for being a shitty villain. They really screwed up on that one.

Nooo I meant I liked more than just her character design. I didn't feel she was too flat, however I guess it was because I didn't look at as JUST NMR... I saw it as a coin, with Rarity on one side & NMR on the other. I found the struggle to be actually quite engaging & relatable, which made the character overall better than, say Sombra was. She even probably had better character than Chrysalis, despite my love of the Changeling Queen. I just don't see why people don't like it, I don't see it as that bad of a character... Speaking as someone who can't STAND a bad villain (seriously I have played games & seen movies/tv shows that are make or break based on villains alone) I have seen much worse than NMR. Is she the most 3D villain ever? No, not at all. Borderlands 2 had a wonderfully fleshed out & comedic villain, Spec Ops; The Line had a greatly dynamic villain, & if we stick within the MLP Universe we have Discord & Tyrek who both had great characters overall who blow NMR out of the water. But that doesn't make her bad in my eyes, just less than perfect. Nothing wrong with that

 

PS I am not trying to start some big fight or anything... I just figured I would say something since I had just gotten done with the character arch & had been expecting something horrendous based on what I had been hearing about it... When I got an actually decent villain & pretty good arch, I just felt like adding my 2 cents into the pile, not create a flame war over it... Terribly sorry

NMR doesn't cause flame wars. If I can post constantly that I hate a cannon image of Rarity without being run out of here, you can mention NMR.  I've already given my lukewarm appraisal of the character (liked her much better than Ghostie did, but he has a point). I loved the arc itself because of that last issue so I give the whole affair a thumbs up.

 

It's not like mentioning NMR causes a piece of ghostie's soul to whither and die, but I have a feeling that he may sigh out loud a lot. We make him put up with us though.

I always do worry, my biggest fear is to be in the way & whenever I see a majority/a large figure in a group giving one opinion on a subject, it is always a huge worry for me whether to speak up or to stay quiet to just avoid any sort of fight or upset... Basically, I no want people mad at me
