Whenever I meet a fan of the show they always seem to despise Rarity, saying she's annoying. But, when people say that I feel as if they didn't focus on the show enough because she is very nice and of course, generous! Generosity is her thing, right? Sure, she can be annoying a bit, but, I find that funny and when she messes something up bad it's even funnier because her reactions are always hilarious! That's why Rarity is my favorite of the mane 6!

Yeahh, I felt the same way for a while, but it ain't as bad as it seems.

 

We have the most active fan club on the site at this point in time, having more replies in our wittle club than any other fan club in the site (including RD's, I'd just like to say Crowning moment right there.)  

 

And most of her haters seem to be 14 or so, anyway, so don't worry

 

Anyway, Rarity is best pony, and anyone who realizes that is cool in my book!

ghost was right, the majority of Rarity haters are usually 14 to 15 yo teenagers or kids who doesn't have enough judgement to perceive Rarity as a complete character.

I'm in a brony facebook group and I kind of want to leave because they started bashing on Rarity without any fundament mostly calling her a greedy whore and a bitch in a post that wasn't even talking about her, I defended her of course, and one of them took it on me, I really don't enjoy hostile environments so I rather walk out. 

 

I just decided not the be a part of it anymore, also, facebook is not designed for having wide written discussions like a forum, it would be a lost cause to reason with these ridiculous kids, how ignorants they are.

 

It's funny how one of them pointed that they liked Rarity at the beginning but she then turned into a bitch later, which is the total opposite according to the initial haters that she had, she softened plenty alredy.

Hey, another Rarity fan here!

 

I really disgusts me how Rarity gets so much undeserved hate simply because she's girly, but the thing that annoys me the most is when people call Rarity a spoiled brat. Like seriously, if they think Rarity's a spoiled brat, what the hell do they think Diamond Tiara is?! If you simply compare the two, Rarity looks like a saint!

 

Another thing that annoys me is when people constantly say that Rarity doesn't follow her element.

1. Who cares?

2. If she followed her element all the time, she would be a one-dimensional and boring character like the previous generations

3. All the other members of the main six go against their elements. People just never seem to notice because they simply assume that they follow them all the time.

4. People are nitpicking ever single thing she does because they want to hate her, but not the others because they want to like them.

 

Although Im actually quite amazed at how many MLP reviews and analysers have her as their favourite:

Brony Curious

Gibbontake

FOBEquestria

TBBBAP

And many more probably

And there are many others analysers that at least like and respect her. I guess that they take the time to look into the show and all its characters that they realise that Rarity's a very complex character.

This guy just kept going on and on and on about Rarity's 'bad' points and i don't recall him mentioning any of her good points, which there are many of. he obviously doesn't know how to construct a good argument. And he insults Rarity fans by saying that he doesn't understand how we can like her, and that there are much better ponies that we could like such as the other members of the main six! He's basically dictating what ponies people are allowed to like!

 

I cant wait until Rarity gets the respect she deserves, however long that may take

There is a Tumblr post by Ask Feminist Celestia that, while the language itself was a little harsh but at the core seemed to have a pretty interesting point about why some bronies hate Rarity. It's not that she's feminine, but rather she's feminine in a certain way that threatens particular male egos. When she dresses up/puts on makeup, she doesn't do it for a guy, she does it for herself. Her vanity and dramatics throw up instant "mean girl" flags in some guys heads. It's a femininity that's strong and out there and in your face.

 

Fluttershy is feminine too, but in a more withdrawn, shy way that appeals to a guys instincts to protect. Rarity, on the other hand is a much more forceful personality that combined with femininity makes haters heads explode.
