AnonyPoni 564 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Let's see... I remember I refused to believe in space. Exactly why, i'm not sure, but I couldn't wrap my mind around it I thought that no pony ate pork and I think I thought everyone moved every 2 years or so
Gay Bird 421 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I used to think if you pet a cat backwards too much it would spontaneously combust, and my brother was born a monkey. Pony Joe 583 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I used to think that jets were "cloud makers" because of the trails they made. I never told anyone, it was just my toddler self jumping to conclusions. That's really all there is to say on the matter.
I used to be a stranger 7,994 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 (edited) I thought there was a hard line at some point between where the sky ended and space began. Nope, turned out to be a smooth gradient, with 80% of our fatass atmosphere sitting below 30,000 feet (~10km), but space doesn't begin until 328,000 feet (100km). Dark Fox 151 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I thought I was the first human to discover masturbating and that since it got your heart to beat faster it would make for a nice, pleasurable, exercise. I seriously thought I was a genius for like 4 years. I pronounced album, like Al-blum until I was 16 I thought Harry Potter was real and I was incredibly disappointed when I didn't receive my Hogwarts acceptance letter.
Justin 16 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 When my mom had to get surgery for her... eh... waste... building up in her stomach and not coming out, for a rather long while, I actually believed that your... poop... comes out of your... well, stomach. After her surgery, a few years or months later, the same situation occurred again, only this time, I saw my mom in the hospital with two long tubes connecting her nose to some long metal pole thing. That's when I believed that you could also poop through your nose. Yeah. I was sort of a dumbass back then. tumblr }{ backloggery
Abstract 832 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I'm sure I had a few silly beliefs as a tyke, but the only one I can really remember, is seeing power plants' smokestacks, and thinking they were cloud factories. ~Starlight~ 764 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Okay this is going to sound very silly... When I was little I used to think that when I flushed the toilet snakes came out so I ran once I flushed it and washed my hands in the kitchen instead... Wingnut 7,003 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 (edited) When my mom said she had eyes in the back of her head, I thought she meant literally. I looked and looked through her hair and I got so mad that I couldn't find those eyes! I believed that whenever I lied, a black stripe formed on my tongue. I thought babies were manufactured in the maternity ward. I continued to act like I still believed in Santa Claus for a year or two after I knew the truth. I guess I was afraid mom and dad wouldn't give me Christmas presents if I didn't. I used to think if you pet a cat backwards too much it would spontaneously combust, and my brother was born a monkey. Also that quiche was pronounced how it's spelled. LOL! I once thought it was spelled "keesh" myself! And that "voila" was spelled "walla". JeanHover 326 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Well, for starters, I believed that Santa was real. As well as every other holiday mascot. I also wanted to believe that Pokemon were real, and I frequently imagined trees as Shiftrees and birds as Pidgeys and stuff. Eddsworld Brony Fan 14 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I never used to believe that TV shows, movies and video games etc were never made by anyone. They just came from nowhere. I also used to believe in ghosts. I don't know whether it was from the shows I watched but it used to scare me at night. Also I didn't realize until a little later than usual that France and Italy were too separate countries.

I used to be a stranger 7,994 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I thought nuclear power stations operated by converting radiation into electricity. (They do, but the ionizing radiation has no part in it, which is the thing people usually think of when people say "nuclear" or "radiation".) I thought spaceflight was only something America did, and very seldom. I thought wars were things that happened very infrequently, and that people didn't want to be in them ever. Stalliongrad 982 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 On Christmas Eve my mom and I would bake Santa shaped sugar cookies for Santa. And then put them out for him with a glass of milk. When I woke up on Christmas morning one cookie was gone and the other was half eaten and Santa would leave me a note thanking me for them and telling me that i was a good girl for the year so extra presents were under the tree. I actually love my mom for doing this. I don't think its stupid but it was crazy i could have ever believed it. ~Signature Awesomely Made By Frozen Mint~ http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/crimson-star-r1439
Broccoli 127 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Back in kindergarden, I thought that if you put a wire or a paper clip on a lit light bulb you'll be able to see sparks. So, I tried, and nothing happened, and I had no idea why... When I was really young I used to notice that my grandma was often out of the house during the day. My grandpa would always tell me that she jumped into the ocean. I had always believed him until in 1st grade I realized that it can't be true. First of all, my grandma can't swim. Second: I know that my grandma loves to go shopping. I concluded that she must have gone shopping, as it was the most logical solution. Suprisingly I never believed that Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, Mickey Mouse, etc, were real people, though many young children do. -"My little pony, not yours!" Callisto 1,877 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 I used to think babies just appeared all of a sudden in people's stomachs. Yeah. Kitty Cat Moonshire 629 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Let's share among ourselves some of the absurd, silly, or just random things we remember believing when we were kids! I'll start: Up until I was eleven, I thought women's breasts were filled with hot air. No, just their heads ;P Joking, Joking! Probably the stupidest thing I believed (when I was really really really young, like 2-3 ) was that white people would become black if they stayed out in the sun to much. I have no Idea where I got that. Must have been the broccoli. Broccoli makes you racist. 1 Make sense? What fun is there in making sense?

Zygen 6,066 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 (edited) Well I could come up with a whole list if I really thought about it long enough, I'll try for as many as I can right now. - Pretty obvious one but I thought guys and girls all had the same parts, I don't remember anything about my thoughts on breasts. (Seriously though I don't know many people who didn't think this as a child . - I actually didn't know French Fries weren't french for a long while . - Believing in Santa and the easter bunny and stuff like that, Although I learned it wasn't real after some research of my own , but my parents told me anyways. - I thought the moon and sun followed us or something . - I use to think people could have superpowers. - Oh actually I thought of a good one, I actually heard of the concept of people "Sleeping together" but I really didn't understand it, I just thought that if a boy and a girl slept together something bad would happen. I later learned the reasoning behind it and stuff. - I use to think babies lived in the stomach for a long while . All I can think of for now I'll add more later Edited February 22, 2013 by Zygen Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! moneyshredderofdeath 414 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 I thought that people born on February 29th would live four times as long as other people. When reading about the earliest human remains to be discovered, I thought that they were referring to living people and thus there were people thousands of years old alive.
hawkflame 3,310 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 You know how they teach kids fire safety through having them learn "stop, drop and roll?" It's supposed to be for cases where your clothes were on fire. Stupid 5 year old me? Well, he used to believe that it was for anytime *anything* was on fire. Your clothes, your hair, your car, your HOUSE... Kitchen on fire? No problem, just do stop drop and roll. The fire is extinguished. Ta daa! 4 Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite! ~Chaotic Fireball~ 499 February 24, 2013 Share February 24, 2013 I used to believe in the usual, well-known Easter Bunny and Santa Claus and Tooth Fairy.. I found out that Santa wasn't real when I was awake on Christmas Eve night and then I heard the door open, and I distinctively heard my dad's footsteps. I didn't open my eyes, but I could've sworn that it was my dad. and as for the Easter Bunny, why the heck would a bunny give me candy on Easter? I never even got any. ('=') I also used to believe that there was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but now I know it's not true, you'd only find Rainbow Dash at the end of it oh yeah, I also thought that the moon was following our car when my family would go for drives in the night. "Mama told me not to waste my life, she said spread your wings my little butterfly. Don't let what people say keep you up at night, and they can't detain you, 'cause wings were made to fly" ~Little Mix, Wings ~Drawing Requests~ Ask Me Anything ~ OC's ~ Art Gallery ~ Soarin' is best pony Join the navel revolution!
