In need of serious help when it comes to shading and coloring.

The first (but least important thing) I'm asking for is some tips when it comes to drawing ponies. I get the basics, I just need a few tips as to pulling off the more dynamic poses. More importantly, could anyone help me with coloring? As I've already said, I'm not bad when it comes to actually drawing, but coloring and shading urg...Let me show you an example of my crappy coloring and shading (you may have seen me post it earlier)

It really does speak for itself. :( So, any techniques, or am I a lost cause?

(If this information matters, I use a Wacom graphics tablet and Paint.net)

Thanks in advance!

Paint net for shading? Yea, that's not really a thing... I would suggest getting GIMP, or, if you want to have awesome shading, Photoshop.

Your coloring looks fine, though I would propose coloring the lines

As far as posing goes:

Coloring seems fine. Ponies are simple enough to not need anything other than solid colors. For poses I would use simple shapes such as circles for the body. Shading can be done using a soft brush on a different layer set on multiply. Set the color to a light grey. I don't know if Paint.net supports any of that, but it's how I do it.

Yeah, I do have gimp. Its just that I used it for the wrong things and have no idea how to shade properly (I've never really bothered before). I'm really bad when it comes to image editing programs.
