Are there any forum sections you don't use, or outright avoid?

...Pretty much these actually. Truth be told I don't think I left the MLP FiM section until I'd been here for a month and I didn't come into Everfree until this year. I rarely go into Octavia's Hall except for when one of my friends has made something cool.

 

Me too, except that I visit Octavia's Hall pretty often, actually. I constantly check "Other Fan Works" for any new PMVs and check Creative Resources often too. Only recently have I explored anything else in there, though. THERE'S SO MANY UNREAD THREADS.

 

I never post in Life Advice (namely, I don't think I speak from a position of enough wisdom and experience to give it), but I do lurk it for inspirational advice from others.

I use Sugarcube Corner and Show Discussion the most.  I think the only place I've never gone into is Roleplay World.  That's just not my thing.  Never got into it, I guess.

The only section I use is Everfree forest, really. It's got my media, my games, and my general discussion.

 

The only reason I've left Everfree recently is for Twilicorn Discussion but screw that. I don't like it, but I'm through whining like a bitch about it with other people whining like bitches.

 

Occasionally I'll journey into Canterlot to see what new administration changes have flown over my head, or I'll take a trip to show discussion to defend my favorite pony. That's about it though.

I never bother with the extranet because I have no interest in anything on it, and I don't use the general chat thread because I always feel lost somehow. I don't use the forum games much either, but every once in a while I give it another shot. Of course, roleplaying hugely overshadows everything else I do here.

Basically, any forum that's *not* Show Discussion, Alicorn Twilight, Sugarcube Corner, or the General/Life Advice/Media Discussion forums in Everfree. I'll pop into the Welcom Forum or Forum Games once in a while, but that's it. The rest I just don't have interest in right now.

MLP Forums Extranet: I have never even stepped foot in this place since ever...

Life Advice: as much as I love to help people with their problems, most of the stuff there just really gets me nervous

I really dislike giving out bad advice (unless, of course, it's a forum game ) and end up being hated because of it

 

Minecraft Server: ithe only reason I play Minecraft is for the Creative mode, even then I rarely ever play it so there's really no use for me here...

 

Commissions: I'm broke and I haven't been arting like... at all...

Do the math...

 

Twilicorn Forums: though I HAVE posted in here a couple times, this place honestly makes me facepalm real hard... so yeah... :/

 

Creative Resources: I am neither creative nor do I have resources so... yeah...

Are there any forums or subforums on the board that you just don't use, or that you take a mental note to avoid rather than regularly scan, let alone participate in? What sections are they, and why is it you don't interact with them, and or avoid them?

 

I'm not one for making 'negative'-esque topics but eh, this came to me and I couldn't say no.

 

-Life Advice. I appreciate the living hell out of what its' purpose is for, and I can hardly appreciate the folks who regularly try and help out members in it enough, but I just suck with general advice, and half of the threads in there are brooding, or relationship related, both of which I can't personally stand </3

-Roleplay World as a whole. I used to RP all the time, but half a year or so before I joined this place I just lost the interest entirely. I had three or four roleplays before I became a staff member but they all died halfway through due to a lack of interest between me and the other person xP

-Commissions. No use for it.

-MLP Forums Extranet. Minus the EQTV threads which I only once in a while glance in, I don't use it at all.

With an exception for Life Advice I mirror you pretty much exactly. At least with the fact I don't use them, not the reason why.

 

Actually add the Alicorn Twilight section, I didn't even know that existed until just now.

Man, commissions!

 

The commissions section is like that fancy vending machine right next to the water fountain with fancy sparkling water that you have to pay a dollar for. Like, I'd never have a use for it anyways, and if I want any water, I can just get a lesser quality yet just as fulfilling version right next door and not have to pay. Those being the good ol' requests threads that you find everywhere.

 

I also ten to avoid the Twilicorn section, mostly because I just think the entire thing is stupid. (You Twilicorn people, you're entitled to your own opinion. No offense intended!)

• Alicorn Twilight Sparkle: Discussion & Speculation: There was a fair amount of unnecessary drama surrounding Twilight's coronation, so, currently, I'm avoiding this forum section.
• Equestria Girls: I don't use this section yet, because I just don't have much to say about Equestria Girls at the moment.
• Creative Resources: I rarely look in here. I'm glad it's there, though. I'm sure I'd end up using this more once I start writing fanfictions again.
• Commissions: I don't need any custom artwork at the moment, plus I'm a minor and couldn't pay the artist, so I don't go there. 
• Non-Pony Art: I don't go here often.
• I don't use Roleplay World, but I look in there sometimes out of curiosity. The roleplaying that goes on there looks cool, but I don't know if I'd be interested in participating in it.
• I like going into Life Advice to help people sometimes, but other times I just want to use the forum for fun. 

   

So, there's only two sections that I avoid at all. I almost always avoid the alicorn twilight section, and I selectively avoid the life advice section: I love helping people, but sometimes I also just want to post for fun. The rest I just don't visit or use frequently if at all.

I usually avoid the whole roleplay part simply because I can't and don't like to roleplay. I don't use Forum Lounge or Commissions either really but I like to look what's in there sometimes.

Equestria.tv - haven't particated in the friday movie night. Doesn't appeal to me.

Commissions - no reason for me to post there.

 

 

I've done a few role plays since I've been here, so I think that I will be using that forum more once I get back into the mood of actually wanting to.

 

 

I've posted in the other forums a bit, here and there, not all that much.. there isn't a forum that I stay in the whole time that I'm on as well as a forum that I completely avoid, save for the two that I mentioned.

The MLP:FiM Subforum - Discussing the show is fun sure, but all I can most of the time are silly head canons as well as people over analyzing.

 

Octavia's Hall - A forum for art stuff.. no thank you. You can't discuss 'art' so, nothing to do here.

 

CC - Forum Games are a necessary evil. It's all in good fun though, but I don't visit it either.

Octavia's Hall: I'm not an artist/mixer/writer, nor am I very good at giving criticism other than just saying "That's very nice!", so I don't think I'm even of any use there.

 

Roleplay World: I've never been interested in roleplay unless it's inside a virtual world that was specifically designed for roleplaying, as well as some gameplay.

Ironically, these days, I don't post much in RP World. Though I did just return, so I'm probably just waiting to create/find the proper roleplay for my skills. I can't really say I outright avoid any areas except for Equestria.tv. As I remember saying once before in the distant past, I don't like to watch things with others on the internet. They distract me from the experience, and I prefer complete 100% focus. 

 

Other areas I don't go near very often are probably Equestria Girls and Alicorn Twilight. I feel both sub-forums have kind of redundant topics every time I go to post in them, and that I've already posted the same opinion about both things a few times. It's just kind of too narrow at the moment for my interest.

Alicorn Twilight Sparkle: Discussion & Speculation - Sorry, but put simple, the drama content here is way too high. Sure, Twilight becoming an alicorn is a big thing but we need to stop acting as if it's the end of the fandom.

 

Equestria Girls - I find the whole 'Equestria Girls' concept horrible from what I've heard and seen so far and I'm not interested in discussing it.

 

Roleplay World - I used to participate in a few roleplays in the past, but because most forum members seem to be from the USA, I had to quit all RP's because the timezone difference between the USA and me (The Netherlands) is 6 hours (even more when they don't live on the east coast), so I would get tons and tons of posts in my notification when I woke up every morning.
