Okay, so something super weird happened to me in the car yesterday on the way back from my ski trip. I was sleeping listening to the song "This Day Aria", a piano version made by myself.

Anyway, as I was sleeping, I was thinking about what it would be like to have a pet changeling. I envisioned one laying on my lap sleeping. I felt it's warm body on my lap. I was gently stroking it as I was sleeping. I could feel its smooth texture across my hands. Then, I touch a spot on its wing, my finger quickly twitched and then I woke.

Could this perhaps be a lucid dream?

Idk, I'm not exactly a dream expert, I really don't dream at night much (although I daydream a lot)

I guess if you were asleep and you were aware of the fact you where dreaming during your dream, then it would be considered a lucid dream.

I'm pretty sure that's more or less the definition.

I don't have a clue. Sounds interesting though...

I always thought a Lucid dream was sexual, obviously I was wrong about that one then. :P

In my personal experience on Lucid dreaming I have never been able to bring things, objects, persons to my dreams, I just can control myself still I dont think this is the same to all, dreaming and lucid dreaming is unique on each one of us and different kind of stuff may happen in every ones dreams.

For me to estimate as a lucid dream its simply as this "If wanted to happen and then it happen you had a lucid dream". In my case sometimes its easy and sometimes takes some concentration to do make them happen but I have always had this "satisfaction" sensation after waking up from a lucid dream.

Also the fact that you are able to remember all those details from the dream means that you were "aware" of it and that is also a sign of lucid dreaming in my book.

In the end if I were you I wont worry about if it was or it wasnt a lucid dream, just enjoy the great time that it was and try to make it happen again.

Oh I'll definitely try to make it happen again. As a matter of fact, once I get good at it, I'm gonna take it a step further and make a tulpa!

By definition, a lucid dream is a dream where you know you are dreaming, and control the dream without waking up. Some may use this to have a sexual dream, but it is not necessarily the same thing.

A lucid dream is where your conscious mind is aware you are dreaming, and for this reason, you can "control" what you're dreaming about.

The best way to have one is by falling asleep again directly after waking up in the morning.

If you were not aware you were dreaming during the Changeling dream, it was not lucid.

Every dream that I dream is a Lucid dream. It's strange, but you get used to it. I think it comes with photographic memory or something. I control my dreams all the time. It's awesome.

"This Day Aria", a piano version made by myself.

Ooh i got to hear that!

Anyways,it does sound like you almost had a lucid dream. my psychology professor says that its just like R.E.M. sleep where theres stages of it. You seemed to be halfway there if you could freely move about and control the dream directly and make things appear and actually see them then its a lucid dream.

I asked my doctor about trying this and he said that if you did have a lucid dream you would damage your brain and possibly induce the same effects as alcohol does(killing brain cells) and the possibility of never waking up. I should also say my doctor is a tool and i have since stopped going to him

Here's the topic with the piano cover. I don't think that lucid dreams have any of those effects. As long as you don't of any bad thoughts or anything of that nature. It'll be perfectly fine. I might try it again tonight.

Personally I wouldn't call this a lucid dream. From my experience with lucid dreaming, something I have achieved a good few times, a lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware you are in a dream and can there for change you surroundings, control people and have superpowers for lack of a better term. From what you have said, I would say it was not a lucid dream, but a normal dream.

I have lucid dreams sometimes, yet most of them are stupid

I do that every day.  :P Except for school days, I am not a morning person.

Here's my experience with dreaming.

First time it worked and it was cool for a second but then creepy stuff happened. People had too many teeth in thier smile. Their laugh was...horrible and .....it was just f-ing creepy

Second time I tried I got sleep paralysis. Basically my body shuts itself down and my brain is still awake. I can't anything. I feel pressure on my chest since my brain is scared cause no oxygen is getting to my lungs. I see creepy s*it like ghosts n stuff (Deadmau5 fan btw) and its just really scary. Most people say it last for a minute cause something wakes them up like a car or a light. Nothing woke my body up. I had to be awake like this for 4 hours. I could tell by my watch...which was luckily on my head. I don't get frightened much by stuff because of that night.

Third time it worked. I could sorta control it. (I was a massive sonic fan at the time btw) I saw sonic and co. We had fun and then Eggman came and we beat the crap outta him and then mephitis appeared and we beat him up.

Oh how I would kill to have a lucid pony dream right now.
