First Drawing Ever!

Recommended Posts

So, uhm, this isn't just my first pony drawing. It's literally my first drawing ever (aside from random doodles).

Criticism encouraged. I'd prefer tips, advice, how you got started, etc.

Yes, it's based off a picture of rainbow dash...and yes, I forgot the cutie mark.

Also, sorry the picture is sideways.

I like it, and it's great for a beginner. Like the mane, you got that perfect, and the tale is flawless. Maybe next time give it more detail, but great as it is.

I give it a 9.9 out of 10.

Thanks and bro hoof /)

Not too shabby for the first shot at it :) a base pony like this can be turned into absolutely ANYTHING in the world =^.^= keep working at it!

I may be 17, an offroad racer, love to mud bog, and am a pro AM skateboarder. But I'll always love MY LITTLE PONY!

I give it a 65/100 because, though the line work is impeccable, the detail is lacking slightly.

As you said there is no cutie mark, which is understandable but still takes away from the overall picture and 20 points.

The mane and tail are simple. A neutral thing which takes away five points at most.

The remaining ten points that were taken away are for small things. Her belly seems a little too round and her mane is off slightly.

Other than that, the picture is amazing.

It looks like you did a lot of heavy erasing on her mane and tail. That's why I'm looking forward to doing digital art.

Other than that it looks pretty darn good for a first. It's definitely advised to use a reference, and guide lines. I can't tell you how much my drawing improved after I started using guide lines. It looks good, keep up the good work.

You get bonus points for drawing it in, what looks to be, once of your school books haha. Nothing like substituting a boring class for a personal imaginative drawing session.

It's really nice, especially for a first drawing. I got started by watching a youtube guide, i followed it too learn the form of the pony and then i started using references. Only difference is that i coloured mine. You obviously have what it takes, since if this is your first drawing.. I can only imagine how your second drawing will look like. Just keep practicing.
