Ahh, my first video game. I remember it well... Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo NES. We had the action package that came with duck hunt and world class track meet. It also came with the zappers (gunmetal gray, not butthurt orange) and the mat. Man how the years have flown by...

Not entirely sure, but I know it was a snes game. Either one of the final fantasy games(4 or 6, japanese numbering. 6 is my favorite though.), or super mario world/super mario all stars (Just a collection of nes mario games.) Not sure which came first though.

The first game I ever played was Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. It was, and is, without doubt the best game I've ever played, as well as the game I've most replayed! I got it when I was 3 years old, and it made me the gamer I am today!

I don't quite remember since, according to my mom, I was at least 3 when I first picked up a controller, but more than likely it was Super Mario Bros. on NES.

Oh man this will be a hard one to remember...ummm...I think around the time I was 4 or 5 I played Tetris and Super Mario Bros. on the NES (As my mom had kept one over the years from Japan). Sadly it did not last much longer than after I was that age as either my dog broke it or it broke on its own because well...that stuff happens I guess. Either that or I played on an old Performa Mac, some Atari-esque game, with wireframe tanks, and I had to shoot those wireframe tanks as I moved through the level. I can't remember the name of that game anymore though as I played that at 4 or 5 as well probably. (The performa mac broke a year or so after that and got replaced by a purple old iMac, and not the flat panels, I mean the old CRT iMac that weighed a ton.)

Ah well its all old childhood stuff anyway. I was told I've been fooling around with computers since I was 2, so I'm going with the wireframe tank game thing, seems more likely at like 3 or 4 that I played it.

You can ^.^ using an emulator. There are plenty of these on the internet. I use ePSXe, but it is quite difficult to configure. I heard that pSX is easier to make it work. All you need is the CD or *.iso (or other file format) of the game.

I have tried using ePSXe, but getting it to configure was too much work for me, so I gave up. I could always order the games from Amazon. I bought GTA IV for PC, but couldn't get it to play. I could get it to install, but I just couldn't get it to play. Oddly enough, i could get the Sims 3 to play on my computer just fine, but a common problem with that game is that it keeps freezing up, making it nearly impossible to play. Even you do get it to play, it constantly freezing takes all joy out of playing it.

Man, I feel kinda awkward being the only one on this thread that ended up playing more adult oriented games first at such a young age :P Not everyone can spend their childhood driving across Europe crushing Kraut's or Ami's then again I guess :P

Well...I grew up on quite a variety. My father collected a lot of the early systems, so I grew up on the Atari, Intellevision... And other ranges such as the SNES, and Playstation 1. (Wish this stuff didn't all get sold years ago.)

I think maybe the first game I may have played was Pong, Frogger, or Burger Time. Heck, maybe Super Mario Bros. It's much too hard to remember. ^-^;

...Joust?

The first game I ever played was the Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt multi-cart in 1989. I have a picture somewhere of me holding the controller with my uncle Blaine pointing over my shoulder at the controller, trying to teach me how to do it. I was a year and three or so months-old at the time.

The first PC game I played was Doom, when I was 4. Also played Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem 3D sometime shortly thereafter. My fondest DOS era games were the old Lucasarts Star Wars titles. They made X-Wing and TIE Fighter flight sims and Dark Forces, which to this day is one of my favorite FPSs.

Loom was an experience like no other.

First PC game? That's a toughie. It was...either Total Annihilation (best RTS game out there period),MechWarrior 3,or some Play-Doh game I vaguely remember.

Ever play Total Annihilation: Kingdoms? It was a magical, middle-ages kind of RTS. The only one in the TA series I've ever played.

yeah that was one of the first ones i played. though i dont remember what it was called, my first was a racing game for the ps1 and all you did was crash into other cars. like the goal of the game was to be the last one standing.

Twisted Metal?

Dang, I can't remember! I played plenty of flash and PC games before I got my first system (an later-revision GBA SP, which is still in my house). But the first console/handheld video game I have ever owned was the GBA version of Super Mario World.

I also played the Windows 95 or the DOS version of Doom (yes, that Doom) at a young age, back when Windows XP was a luxury.

First game I recall ever playing was Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. I can't remember anything before that, so I'm pretty sure that game was my introduction to videogames.

My first game I ever played was Super Mario Bros. 1 on the NES...it was awesome and I still play it sometimes to this day, just because I can. Thus, was my introduction into my addiction to video games.

Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt

Don't remember specifically which of the two I played first since I was 3.  But hey, they were the same cart so it counts.

I remember getting a Super Nintendo for Christmas in 1991, and I was 5 years old. The game that came bundled with it was Super Mario World, and that was the first video game I've ever played. It's still one of my favorite Mario games to this day.

If I remember this correctly, the first game I've ever played was Super Mario Land on the Game Boy. Maybe it was Tetris, I can't seem to remember it well enough. It was on the Gameboy however, that's for sure.

Probably the first game I ever played was Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy back in 1996. I lost my copy in 1998 though and had to wait until it was released on the 3DS Virtual Console in 2011 before I could see the ending.

I'm not entirely sure if it was worth the wait.

No joke, Super Mario bros on the Nintendo Entertainment System. My grandparents picked it up at a garage sale for 20 bucks. The cartridge also had Duckhunt included. Came with top gun as well. (anyone who has played it know the hellish nightmare that is... the landing sequence)

Weirdly enough the oldest game I can remember playing was probably the first Command And Conquer game on the PS1 back in 1999/2000 or so. Don't know why I had it on the PS1 with it being an RTS though.

No doubt I did play something before then but thats as far back as my crappy memory can remember.

The first game I ever played? The list of game I played when I was young is so long that it took me 10 years to narrow it down to 5 possibilities:

Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)

Minesweeper (PC) <-- For real. This is a possibility.

Tekken 3 (PS)

Some reincarnation of Space Invaders

Some reincarnation of Tetris
