Where should the ponies go next?

Where do you guys think the ponies should go next? Introduce a new place? Follow specific characters? State any of your ideas here!

They are not going to go anywhere in case people havent noticed 90% of the time the episodes take place within Ponyville. There is no need for them to go on an epic adventure to a different land each episode, because frankly it bores people. The ponies travel every so often however [like they should be] the ponies are normally with in Ponyville.

Well, I think it bores me that every single episode is in Ponyville. I have noticed that they always stay in Ponyville, and I think it would be interesting to take it somewhere else.

 

I remember that in "One Bad Apple" Applejack mentioned that Babs lives in Manehattan, so was that just a made up city or are the writers actually going to use that place?

My idea is that maybe (in a two parter) they go on a quest given by Princess Celestia (or woona) to chart an area of "Unexplored Equestria". They are accompanied by a special guide like Daring Do to explore this area with the hopes of finding new land for farmers to relocate to (because they have been having bad growing seasons). And once they all arrive they find that this region of Equestria is where Changelings come from and through a long series of events the Changlings and Chyrsalis are given a more "ponylike" form and they agree to allow farmers to help develop their land etc. I dunno just a thought.

Well technically Manehattan was used in "The Cutie mark chronicles" when AJ visited her aunt and uncle orange and lived there and stuff during her story, that was Manehattan, however thats basically the only time I remember that showing up.

 

I'm fine with them staying in Ponyville for the most part, but I'm also fine with them going on adventures every so often. Everything in moderation basically . Well except I slightly bias ponyville as being part of the majority of episodes, it should be more Ponyville, with a bit of adventures.

First

Manehatten:

We keep hearing about this place so why not go there once? Have an episode in a city, because why not?

When people starte comparing about an underwater city the first thing that came to mind (no joke) is if there will be an ice kingdom. Not sure how I made that connection, but I did. A kingdom of ice with ice/frost/winter ponies I don't know. Why? Because it would be interesting that's why.

First: The question isn't "Why not?", but why go? the show doesn't need to travel somewhere in order for its viewers to be entertained.

 

Second: again the show is entertain within Ponyville so there is no need for them to be travelling every damn episode.

The Saddle Arabia guests looked pretty interesting. Wouldn't mind going and seeing a different culture. I didn't think that the Crystal Empire was that different. Apart from everyone being sparkly.

The Changeling HOMELAND. Not just some kingdom the army has conquered, but the actual homeland, including architecture, social norms and values, etc.

 

The Griffin Empire, I'm thinking something along the lines of Imperial Germany.

Tartarus: The thought of there being a hellish prison for horrible monsters and evil beings near Ponyville pleases me.

 

Griffin Kingdom: Griffins are cool. If the show's depiction isn't anything like Equestria Prevails, I'll be mildly dissapointed.

 

Realm of the Dragons: I know there hasn't been a suggestion that there's a place where all these dragons come from, but dammit, a dragon villain would be cool.

firstly, I feel like if the show strays too far from it's goal of teaching friendship, then anything they do is sorta pointless.

 

That said, I'd like to see them make friends with another outcast pony/other creature, a Hearts and Hooves day where fluttershy goes out with some stallion (it's a long shot, but I think they could do a good job with that), perhaps -

Um... I want them to go to one of the big cities like Manehatten or Baltimare, since we always hear about it and all, and a BEACH episode. I have no idea why I want them to do that, but they gotta go to the beach

It would be kind of cool to see the show's interpretation of my home town. Don't know how flattering it would be, because you know, Baltimore.

No, of course not. But, once in a while, a change will be good, and there's more out there than the tiny town of Ponyville that can teach them friendship lessons as well. Many are probably getting bored with the constant setting of Ponyville, and can do well with more adventuring episodes.

That's a fair point, but just by reading through this thread, you came off, at least to me, sounding like you thought they should re-erect Trixie's fishbowl barrier and never leave Ponyville at all.

They don't. You said yourself that 90% of the episodes have them stay in Ponyville. Apparently, it seems you're contradicting yourself with claims that they travel to a different place every other episode. Yes, I know you're exaggerating, but my point is that the main six, in fact, do not travel much at all.

Fine you caught me and I've apparently contradicted myself.

 

Despite the fact that the show is set within Ponyville most of the time the show is still loved and liked. So that shows that the location of where that episode is taking place hardly at all impacts the shows entertainment value that much, because what the show sometimes lacks in location it makes up for in quality content. I don't care where the show goes location wise as long as the content is good.

Welp, there you go, you said it yourself again. If that's the case, then why are you saying that they shouldn't travel "every other bloody episode" if you don't care where they go? Furthermore, not everyone thinks that staying in Ponyville won't impact the entertainment value.

I was wrong it doesn't really matter where the show is as long as the content is good. I just prefer episodes in their home town, and that is just my personal preference.
