Hmm... Hopefully fandoms keeps up and different groups will keep up doing things. Its however: unsure can they because when MLP-FiM ends, it also must fade away for happiness (and exactly if MLP-FiM final episode ends sadly).

Spring has arrived to Finland and you know what that means?

FiM will not end either sadly or decisively.  Hasbro is not that stupid.  They will leave the door open for them to come back and do more.  Plus it would not be good for toy sales, which will go on long after the series goes into perpetual reruns.

I like to connect stuff to games, I connected your question to Halo: Reach, the Lone Wolf mission. When MLP is gone, I shall always be a Brony and I will defend that tital at all costs!

I linked it to Lone Wolf as I'd imagine Noble 6 is a Brony, and is fighting the Covenant, or the haters. XD

The topic will survive through fanfiction and dedicated animators, even after the voice actors quit there will still be MLP.

I will never drop the mantle of being a Brony, and will continue teaching the lessons and watching the show.

I seriously think Hasbro won't burn all the bridges to falling back on the show, and I'd expect a reboot eventually.

I think the fandom will stay alive long after the actual show has ended, the sheer amount of original content we produce even between seasons is proof of that. Our fandom may never well and truly end until the last Brony on earth drops dead.

This isn't anything new, look at Star Trek fans or Doctor Who fans, their shows went off the air for years and the fandoms never died down or stayed quiet. The best bit is that both shows eventually came back because there were so many fans, and in the case of Doctor Who it was the fans themselves who brought it back. Trust me when I say that if the show ever goes down you can bet your ass that the fans never will, and MLP will live on through us.

Hiya all, I know that this might be seen as kind of a depressing topic, but I think the more we plan for the inevitable, the more we can make the outcome happy in the end instead! ^ ^ What do you think should and/or will happen to the brony fandom after G4 ends? What will you, personally, do as a brony when G4 ends?

My answer below:

I think there are a number of possibilities...

Best case scenario (imo):

   - a G5 comes out that is generally considered to be on the same level of quality as G4, making bronydom exist as strong as ever, regardless of the fact that the original series is no longer airing, sort of like the Star Trek fandom.

Probably a more likely, but still totally fine with me outcome is:

   - Bronies continue to associate with each other and congregate around their fansites, but will more often discuss new, currently airing shows that are in the same vein as MLP (ex. animated, has good morals, well written, etc.), still looking back fondly on MLP, itself.

Alas, the pessimistic outcome, which I tend to think is actually the least likely of these 3 is:

   - Bronydom breaks up. Ponies kept the fandom together, and with their absence the fandom disperses, its members being quickly divided and absorbed into other groups around the web.

For me, personally, this answer is pretty simple. I'm not just going to roll over and stop being a brony once G4 is over. I have derived so much joy from the show's lessons; from the amazing people who I've come to know and love (with the magic of friendship! ;p) as a result of the fandom's existence. Because of this immense group of friends that came into my life on the whim of randomly watching some youtube videos, my personality, the way I hold myself, my emotional course in life as a person have all been changed irrevocably, and I can safely say for the better. I will never forget what the show, and the amazing people surrounding it have taught me, and (to get a little meta) the kind of hope for humanity I have found in the very fact that there are so many people out there who were open-minded enough to become bronies, themselves!

Well if Generation 5 turned out to be terrible compared to G4, I'm pretty sure that 90% wouldn't watch it, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut that doesn't mean that we would stop being bronies. (that's what I think).

MLP FOREVER!!!

Best pony is obviously Pinkie Pie followed by Fluttershy.

BTW ponies rock and so does the series.

I think the bronydom will not continue for too long.

Perhaps another three years with bronies discussing stuff about what made unique this generation and stuff.

Now, something that a lot of people is expecting is that Hasbro actually continues with G4 for at least one more season (5 seasons total). The reason of this is because Equestria Girls is coming out, it is generating mixed expectations and will definitely keep us bronies interested in season 4.

I think that Hasbro is definitely going to create a lovely 4th season (they've been putting a lot of effort into it) and making the best FiM season up to date (as long as they keep the writers and staff and also add new elements and animators, of course).

But bronies will want more and Hasbro will either a) listen to us and create a fifth season that will not be as good as this 4th one or B) End FiM.

Anyway, the fandom will still be there, but bronies will have to move on. BUT NOT FROM THIS FORUM :D

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

G4 will not end.

I'm kidding myself, of course. You know, that's one of the little things in My Little Dashie that sort of kicked me in the gut. When he mentioned that MLP had been cancelled after the eighth season or something... I was like, "NOOOOO!"

I'm assuming I'll eventually tire of ponies, but not in the foreseeable future. When it ends I'll probably be sticking around the fandom. Maybe by that point some of the artists like SillyFilly Studios and Brony Dance Party will be able to churn out quality pony animations... possibly even whole fan-generated episodes.

I am a brony 4 Life! If the show ends the fandom will always be here. If a G5 comes along and it's as good, that would be great! This fandom isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We're only getting close to 3 years, why stop the train? Keep the train moving, keep the fandom alive.

The Fandom will always be here, trust me /) wink.png

Besides, I see G4 lasting longer than you think ;)

This fandom is the most active, massive and creative I've ever seen. We're capable of making our own episodes, for Celestia's sake :3 Even after the show ends, G4 pony will live on for years and years and years, regardless if there's a G5 or not. We won't simply move on to other shows and 'remember G4', either, OP xP Even fandoms that can't create their own near-canon level content continue to build around their show's universe with their own ideas, which pretty much creates an endless chain of discussion. We're capable of that and more.

Honestly, if you stop being a brony just because the show ends, you're not that true of a fan. You were more someone looking for something to kill time, imo.

If and when G4 ends, I'll still continue to be a part of the fandom. If G5 is good, then great. If it isn't, then oh well, I'm sure there are enough fanfics and original content to keep me entertained,

I like the fandom far too much to leave just because the show doesn't continue anymore, though I bet G4 will be around for a LONG time, considering its popularity.

Yeah. And even if we did end up abandoning the forums and all, we will not forget about this experience at all. Some will still have their plushies, shirts and/or keychains. Some will still use references to the show. Ponies will never leave the life of true fans.

Anyways..

When G4 ends (that won't be for a while since William Anderson has promised many seasons)

But when it does end the community will still exist, but many people will leave. Those who stay will continue doing our thing. hah :P there's not that much to discuss really imo

What will I do after gen 4 ends? I don't know... that's future MuteMutt's problem.

I'm pretty sure the community will still be around but If I lose interest at that time for one reason or another, then it is what it is. These things happen. I'm not going to force myself to stay; I've got no obligations to the fandom or the show.

Most likely, I'll stick around after the end of gen 4 and see how things go. No promises. If I end up leaving, just know that I really enjoyed the fandom and the show at one point, since that will always be true.

When G4 inevitably ends, the fandom might wane a bit.  But there will still be bronies.  My reasoning for this is that Bronies has been sort of a phenomenon that impacted alot of peoples lives in one way or another.

After about 10 yrs after G4 ends (assuming there is no suitable G5 replacement) I can imagine that the Bronies will be extremely small in number.

Personally, I'm hoping that they keep this up cause apparently their making a bunch of money off of it anyways.  Hopefully they make a good G5 with new characters but keep the same writers and improve on the things they did in G4.

Indeed I B) have.

blame this thing for not allowing me to use B+) when I want to make a list of things.

Anyway, I also found that I said that the fandom won't last long, and then said that it'll last sometime... WTF is wrong with me? :P

I still think if Generation 5 would be horrible, there will still be bronies. Heck, our fandom is huge! We've been compared to Trekies and those guys have been going frong to close to 50 years. I think when the show ends, sure not as many bronies are gonna be here. But My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will stay alive because of all the fanvideos, music, and fanart. WE'RE HUGE!
