I kinda thought he would come back sometime in season 3 after his horn flew off, but it never happened. Still out of all the villains, I would like Sombra to come back. It's cool that he is a unicorn and is evil. The mane 6 fighting someone who is a pony I think is pretty cool. Still only time well tell.

Eh, I dunno, that just seems more like an ominous warning in some flavor text to me.

 

I'm not saying Sombra won't show up or ever be mentioned again, but I don't think that's a definite hint at anything.

But, he possessed Trixie with an ALICORN amulet. So, why isn't he an Alicorn too? Or is it only mares who can?

wait why are you saying this like it is canon? the alicorn in the alicorn amulet looked nothing like sombra and even trixies eyes were red while sombras were purple

Well, I suppose. Still you never see stallion Alicorns. I just think it's weird. Unless they have to do something, like Twilight did. I don't know.

this may not be canon but my headcanon is that Mares turn into alicorns and Stallions turn into centaurs. however when stallions turn into centaurs They slowly become evil so Celly secretly tries to prevent Stallions from becoming very powerful

I do hope, we'll get some more Sombrain the future, but I doubt the guys making the card flavourtexts have any special input or influence on the matter.

I think that we will return at some point, then Celestia will have to kick his flank in. So, it would be cool to have Sombra return and so he could possibly try to enslave the Crystal Ponies again if he can.

I dunno, I think if nothing else it's kinda promising. They had no obligation to include that really, so it could be a foreshadow, it could just be a easter egg for bronies, but either way, it means the concept of Sombra not being dead forever is a concept the writers are not deaf too. Which is good enough for me. It means he has a -chance-. Someday

I'd like to see some necromancy going on... somepony finds Sombra's horn and decides to call him back from the dead. But they soon lose control and then Sombra is back on the loose! Or is that too dark for a little girl cartoon? XD

 

Regarding male alicorns; I have an OC who's an alicorn (never seen on this forum, only in my fanfic). My theory is that males and females can be alicorns but we only see the females in the show cuz princesses rock.

Some fan fictions writer feel like Sombra's Horn is like that of the One Ring. So unless his horn is destroyed in some place like Mouth Doom, he can never fully die and always come back at some point.

 

Not only (fan fiction) that but it can corrupt the minds of those with the horn turning them into his servant, much like Reaper Indoctrination from Mass Effect, through his servant he can come back to life.

Oooh! I remember when that episode aired all the forums speculated about that horn, some people thought that it was something that wasn't important... But the fact it's been mentioned by official sources point towards it being something that was intentionally meant to be noticed. I think he's coming back in Season 4!

This is more clever wording than anything. It allows for Sombra's return if the staff so wish it, but they don't need to if they don't want to. Like I said, clever wording to allow for any circumstance where he does, or does not, return!
