Favorite normal song, brony song, style of music?

All of these songs are pretty darn good. For some strange reason i find brony music better that normal music but that might just be me.

I dislike 90% of the Dubstep out there, which does include everything that I've heard from the fandom. There are only two brony musicians that I like who are Taps and d.notive

 

Taps is probably the most unique out of all the Brony artists I've heard, he's much more melodic, atmospheric and best of all, unlike other pony related Trance/House artists he doesn't sound generic (except for the Dubstep stuff that he used to put out), sucks that he's so under rated.

 

d.notive is pretty much the pony version of Depeche Mode and any other synthpop band, but he still is nice to hear

 

 

Now as for the style of music that I like, loads of it, though most of the time it's stuff that's much more melodic and atmospheric sounding. Ambient, IDM, Trance etc. Even when it comes down to metal music I like Post-Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Sludge Metal, Doom Metal etc. though I do like Grindcore stuff as well. My all time favorite band has a habit of changing quite a lot, though as of now it's Nine Inch Nails that's at my number 1 spot.

My favorite normal song will always and forever be Hero by Nickelback, even if it was their last good song of 2002. If you ever listen to it, you feel the spirit inside of you and just become free!

I'm a fan of most styles of music. I would have to put orchestral and 80s rock above the rest, but I also like modern rock (or pretty much any rock, for that matter), vocal, pop, a little electronic, and occasionally rap. I absolutely deplore dubstep, though.

 

I don't really have just one favorite normal song, but I have a few favorites from each genre:

 

Orchestral: Suicide Mission - Jack Wall (Mass Effect 2 OST)

80s Rock: SOOOOOOOO many greats to choose from, I can't really pick just one. It would probably be something from Bon Jovi, though.

Modern Rock/Pop: All the Right Moves - OneRepublic

Vocal: I Don't Want to set the World on Fire - Ink Spots

Electronic: Virmire Battle - Jack Wall (Mass Effect 1 OST)

Rap: Battle Scars - Lupe Fiasco

 

As for brony songs, I tend to dislike a great majority of them. Most brony musicians just aren't talented songwriters, unfortunately.

 

However, I have a real softspot for most of the stuff by Eileen Montgomery, especially the cover of "Already One Year" she performed for the Fallout: Equestria Radio Play.

 

 

That would be my favorite brony song, but I also like Pinkie's Brew, the instrumental version of Rainbow Factory,

and a few others.

I'm defined by heavy metal, particularly 80s style thrash and power metal. Among my favorites are Testament, Megadeth, Slayer, Sodom, Destruction, Sepultura and a crap ton of others; the more aggressive, the better (excepting singers who overuse the "death growl" which I find obnoxious).

I haven't heard many brony made songs, but I get the feeling dubstep is kind of big in this community, leading to a lot of dubstep style pony songs. I'm sorry to say, I'm really not into dubstep at all. Though I would like to see ponies mesh with epic metal. Maybe I'll be one of the first to make a truly epic pony metal ballad...

Dub step makes my ears bleed, because most of the time it just sounds like a random miss-mash of terrible bass storms on top of distorted instrumentals. Just because of that, most if it sounds exactly the god damn same to me. There are however a few dub step beats that stand out on their own, none of which I can remember the name of, seeing how I've only heard them once in the past. Still, I'm a pretty decent fan of some techno beats that don't rape my eardrums. Smoother beats with catchy lyrics, specifically.

 

Rock and Alternative are my lifeblood, but remixes of VG OSTs are up there for me regardless of style. 

 

Also piano, almost anything piano.

A brony musician, Tarby, helped me find this nice genre called progressive rock. That's one of the many examples of me finding awesome music through bronies. Joining this fandom has influenced my opinions about music and it's awesome.
