Elvis (2022). I actually enjoyed this movie a lot, the transition and pacing was spot-one when aligning with the songs from Elvis into storytelling. I already know about his personal life and career beforehand, but witnessing on a screen and did a little more reading into it, I did not realize how depressing  it was for Elvis. I give this movie 10/10. I literally felt the passion through the foundation of rock music originated from the blues and jazz.

Elvis as an artist alone, damn. Literally I cried till the end and afterwards. I remember college years was my most hellish experiences that I have to put with up. Because it was when I got the first taste of feeling isolated and depression. I needed a music that can give me both a rebellious and anguish aesthetic feels. So I decided to listen to Elvis. When I started listening to him, his songs literally pulled me out from this college hell  as I got absorbed by his voice. I didn’t know anything about his background as much when I listened to it. But I definitely can hear the emotions,  the sadness, and loneliness from his voice when I listened to it. That voice and his songs, connects the every emotion I had, since  his songs was there at my lowest and my loneliness time during my college life. I would listen to Elvis everyday at that time and still do. So watching this yes, it really hits me hard.

Elvis will always be appreciated and remembered as long as I live and as long I listen to his songs because his songs had got me through hardship and loneliness. Elvis was the artist that got me into blues, swing and jazz. Which was the discovery of my aesthetic as in today. This just really hits me emotionally.

Plane (2023) Simple and effective. If you want good solid action, intensity and nothing else to burden the plot, this is for you. I liked this movie a lot. Fun for the sake of fun, nothing more, nothing less.

Lift (2024) Kevin Hart stars in this heist film in which a group of professional thieves must make an impossible score to save their own necks. It’s a lot better than the usual Kevin Hart film because he’s not so over-the-top in this. The plot is decent, the action pretty good and the locations beautiful. Surprisingly solid.

Saw Godzilla Minus One:squee:  What about you @Dreambiscuit?

I haven't seen it yet but I am dying to! I keep hearing such cool things about it but I haven't caught up with it yet.

The most recent movie I saw was Post Grad (2009), a generally unimpressive film about a girl who assumes a college diploma is magically going to open doors for her after she graduates, and then gets a dose of what real life is like. There's some fleeting moments of entertainment here and there, but I wouldn't call it overwhelming nor underwhelming; merely...whelming.

School Live (Live action version). Based on the anime series of the same name, this theatrical treatment follows the same plot very closely and that's fine with me. I loved the series and I'm always happy to see more of it it any form I can get.

Son of Dracula (1943) - As someone who loves Castlevania and is now getting super into the old Universal monster movies, I absolutely had to watch this just to see where the name "Alucard" came from.  Was a lot of fun!!!

The Beekeeper (2024). Jason Statham has returned with a butt-kicking for some very deserving badguys. The plot is nothing terribly original but that doesn’t matter if the formula works. And seeing a man with ‘a certain set of skills’ taking down the scum of the earth never gets old. I hated the antagonists so bad, and it was a joy to see some good creative means of separating them from their mortal coils and packing them off to their next life. This movie was a lot of fun and I hope there will be a sequel.

Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989). I love this movie. It’s one of the crown jewels of my ‘peaceful movie’ lineup. Almost every Studio Ghibli movie is great, and this work of art stands up well alongside everything Hayao Miyazaki has put together. Now I’m going to have to go watch the rest of the Ghibli playlist, just to keep it all fresh in my mind. Lovely stuff.

Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus - I have been watching a lot of the animated Barbie movies recently after a friend recommended them to me, plus I missed out on them when they would air on TV when I was kid.  This one has quickly become one of my favorites.  Super fun fantasy adventure type of movie with good characters.  I think Annika might be my favorite Barbie protagonist.

Would like to recommend the animated Barbie movies in general to fans of MLP: FIM as they have a lot of the same voice actors.

The Mask (1994) I haven’t seen this movie in years and it held up well. There’s nothing like Jim Carrey at his zany best, and this cartoony gag-fest is a perfect fit for him.

Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) This was the first anime movie I ever saw, back in the day, and it’s responsible for the love affair I’ve had with anime ever since. This movie is a masterpiece; one of Hayao Miyazaki’s best movies, and I enjoyed it so much I couldn’t even do anything after I watched it except stare into space in a transport of joy and pure inspiration. Perfect movie.

Xanadu (1980) Umm, okay, what do I say about a movie like this? It’s unique, I’ll give it that. I guess it’s one of those movies that absolutely perfect for a certain mood; a mood which only comes up once every blue moon. This movie was not a success at the box office, and that’s to be expected of such an anomalous piece of work, but honestly it is worth the ride. I have to admit that I love this movie; it has so much going on in terms of talent and originality. Most people are inclined to write it off because it doesn’t fit into any known category, but that’s part of what makes it great. It’s a true original loaded with great songs, dancing, a cool animated sequence provided by Don Bluth (Secret of NIMH) and the only example of 1940s Big Band music being seamlessly melded with 1980 rock & roll. It also doesn’t hurt that it features Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly.

Yes, absolutely! I LOVE the Barbie animated movies and have watched them all dozens of times each. They're among my favorite movies because they are written better than most animated movies which get more exposure due to their bigger budgets. But the Barbie movies have the content and the heart. The songs are great, the performances supurb, and there are over 40 of them to keep you entertained for a long time. They're infinitely rewatchable too.

Don't think Nicholas Cage shares that sentiment.😅

Anyway, been rewatching Batman Beyond, as well as the Justice League Unlimited episodes tying into it.  So of course, that binge includes Return of the Joker which thankfully is the Uncut version on Max and Tubi.

Also viewing plans thanks to TubiTV is The Man Called Flintstone and The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones:

This is the best comedy I've ever watched.
