And its also part of furry fandom...  :)

Okay, so basically, it all comes down to ''Do I identify as a furry?''.  Like a furry is someone who labels themselves as a furry.  Like anything including labels.

"i draw furry art, i feel like part of furry fandom" or "i draw furry art and thats it. i just enjoy drawing animals" ... only you can say that you are furry :)

You'd expect the fandom of a pony show to be a bit more accepting and less aggressive to the furries, seeing how quite a few bronies are furries. Other than that, the show involves accepting people for who they are, but who am I kidding, forget 'love and tolerance'.

As for OT, I personally don't care for the furries, equally as I don't care for the brones. Some of their art is intriguing, and a lot of it is well made. Sure, a lot of them are assholes, but there are jackasses in every fandom.

Is there any reason at all why I should be in any way concerned about what furries are? I have a pretty general idea about what they're about but I just can't be bothered to care enough to even form an opinion beyond just thinking about furrydom as just another fandom.

So if I had a warrior cat character, it would make me a furry? Or would it make me a fan of Warriors? If I had a human character what would that make me?

I'm really sorry, but I don't see your logic exactly. I'm sort of a furry, but I don't exactly understand. I think if you have an OC of a mlp all it means is that you like my little pony and are a fan.

The 'only' way I see someone being a furry, is if they associate with the fandom. You can't really call people furries if they don't associate with the one thing they are supposedly a part of.

((Don't take this as an attack, sorry if it sounds that way.))

I definitely agree with you here and it doesn't sound like an attack at all.  I'm a furry myself, and I think that you're only one if you want to be.  Just because you have a character that's an animal doesn't make you associated with a certain fandom.

Funny how some people here thinks that furry fandom ,where people like animal , is something stranger than brony fandom, where adult people watch show for little girls, buy toys and roleplay as little colorful ponies....

I Dont want to be offensive, i love this fandom but some people act just rly weird

(this is a fursuit, and that's a man dressed as a woman.)

Anyway, I don't really care. I used to be against it, but since then I've learned that there's no real reason to oppose something someone else likes; it doesn't matter in the slightest.

No one wants to accept that theyre strange, particularly this fandom. Everything done is viewed as normal inside the fandom, and outside, its viewed as weird and steange, but the fandom labels that as 'hating'. So, what else could a strange fandom in denial of its weird practices do?

Bash another fandom, of course.

It's not just wierd fandoms which do this. Most people would view another group of people for the out of the ordinary stuff about them. For example, you are not likely to remember Indians for their vibrant culture and beautiful country, you would probably think of them working at call centres or their broken English.

Going off topic, furries are great people (I should know, I'm one of them*) and you shouldn't hate on them just because their fandom gets featured in proper video games or whatever.

*Cockiness is for comedic effect.

I believe that at least one group of people are going to be 'offended' about particularly anything that the person doesn't want the other person to do. Like for example, Furries and Bronies. A lot of moms don't want grown men to like the same thing that their daughters like. I think that if you hate furries, you probably just don't like some of the things they do.

I'm personally ok with furries. I actually explored their fandom at one point because I was curious to see if it was something for me. I never had an official fursona (i.e. a character who represents me as a person), though I did use one of my own favorite anthro characters to act as one. His name is Fuchsia Puff and he's a flamboyantly gay poodle. While he was inspired by gay stereotypes there's more depth to his personality than that. There's also fan art I like and I think fursuits are nifty.

While I'm not a furry I do have friends who are and they're cool people.

I like the anthro internet culture. I'm a bit of a scalie myself (fursona wise).

As one, I think they are creepy... just kidding. No we are a bit odd I know this and we get a bit of hate.. which I don't mind at all but at the end of the day we are who we are! and that's all that can be said, and to try and change me is just wrong...

They are just another fandom, absolutely nothing wrong with them.
