Lunas Husband 2,777 October 1, 2013 Share October 1, 2013 Popular? no. Never have been too, I the most friends I have ever had at once was about 5. other then that I don't make to many friends. On the forums I have a few friends noting to go crazy about but that's how I like it.. this why I can get to know them all really well.. "Does not matter what they say, my sweet love! QuirkyUsername 1,576 October 2, 2013 Share October 2, 2013 I was never popular. I enjoyed my friends company but was more often than not a loner having immense disdain for people in general (forum being the exception ^^ I love all you guys) So I was happy kinda hovering under the radar not really having any attention paid to me. I'll admit there are times where this was more harmful than helpful but very rarely would that be the case. I'd love to have more friends but mainly places like this or people I know I'd like to be around. anywhere else I want nothing to do with people This adorable ball of glorious fluff that is my avatar is the creation of the glamorous Laika Hey so Johari
sunne 659 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 For some unapparent reason, people seem to find me odd in person. I can typically converse with adults pretty well, and they always talk about how fun I am to talk to, but with peers it's a whole different scenario. That feel.Though, I'm a little different. Yes, i can talk to adults easily, but whenever I'm talking to someone i don't know in school I feel like running away or hiding or something. I think there are three big factors behind this.1. I'm visually impaired and have to be really up close to someone to see their face clearly, so since I can't go that close to people I don't know well, I can't see their facial expressions.2. I'm autistic and have never been good in social situations unless talking to someone i can relate to (for example, people at my camps who are also visually impaired. they get me better, so I can talk to them easier.) 3. I was a shut- in for a few years due to a depressive phase, and now that i'm back in school and stuff I'm in the modified program because of that, my vision, and my autism, even though it's been proven in a test that I'm intelligent(for another example, I was in a test for something a few years back and it was for something like autism or something and one of the results said I had the reading level of a graduating student (I was in grade 7)) Something that makes this all worse is that my friend is alway pushing me to socialize and make more friends. I also tend to talk fast, and I am not good at it. Meaning I often mess up what I'm saying and I have to repeat myself several times. Meaning I get more and more embarrassed. If you ever meet me, please don't push me to make friends with random people. ;-; Anyway, to answer the general question that is the title, neither. I'm nowhere near popular, but i don't want to be. I have a small group of friends of school, and friends from Space Camp and Zajac Ranch, and am happy with that. i don't need any more friends. Sorry that I have no advice. This started with me just relating to you and then became venting. Sorry ;-;
Lunatic Cake 1,618 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 It's not my fault I'm not popular... Anyway on Topic: I don't feel like I need many friends, all I really want is one or maybe a few more real friends I can talk to about anything, people who don't let me down and I feel "save" around. Basically people who accept me for who I am. Sig by: Kyoshi

Rinkitty 589 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I honestly don't really like humans, (they scare me so...) so I'm content with being a loser. I mean, I have a good amount of friends, but even if they're really nice, I'm still somewhat frightened by their general disposition. Maybe I should seek help... Even if I was more comfortable with people, I wouldn't want to be "popular", (whatever that means). It's too much effort. It usually requires you to wear a mask to cover your true self, and be what everyone else wants you to be, rather than what you want you to be. That's a big no-no in my book. So kids, don't succumb to peer pressure, and remember to always be yourself, and not a Fake Frank. Do that, and you and me will get along slightly better ~Siggy made by Kitteh O Shy <3 In a society that has destroyed all adventure, the only adventure left is to destroy that society~

Dsanders 5,747 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 (edited) Honestly, I have never been really popular in my years of middle school and through early high school. I've had maybe one or two friends, but they weren't really that good of friends. Currently, I'm doing better. I now have three great guy friends I can usually seem to rely on and I'm thankful for them. I'm more often a loner, but that's okay, because I'm quite introverted as well. But really, I am not popular. In fact, most of the rude and obnoxious girls(Just the girls, not the guys. I don't get it. lol) at my school seem to generally dislike me for practically no reason whatsoever. But whatever, it's fine. I rather not be friends with most of them anyways. But I do have my little circle of guy friends and I'm thankful enough for that. Why wish for more friends, when I have so many here? Rockymoo 2,137 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I think being out of high school makes you unpopular by default in a way. Still though, I'm happy with the amount of friends I have. Not so much quantity, moreso quality. If I meet somepony that's nice, I'm always up for adding them to the list though. 2 On 10/13/2013 at 6:59 PM, little gamie said: I'm fresh in school Hey, you. Raritas 6,820 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 (edited) I'm part of a group of around 15 or so people at school, although I don't know some as well as others. I'd say out of that group I have about 7 or 8 good friends IRL. I'm still friends with the others, just not as well. I wish I could make more friends though. I'm quite a shy person, which kinda limits it to a certain extent. I want to meet some online friends to play games and stuff with but I just can't seem to do it right now... Maybe I'll get more confident eventually, I hope. Edited October 3, 2013 by Raritas "Sometimes I wish I could imagine myself 10 years from now, out of college, living life without boundaries. Malinter 3,064 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I just wish my two friends were more 'outdoors' and not such hermits. I like going on walks and sometimes wish they'd come with me instead of being cooped indoors on their games all the time. In fact, its because of them I started searching online for new friends in the first place because socially here i'm really out of the loop and don't know where folks go to meet new people. /sigh. DarligPegasi 315 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I used to be relatively popular in elementary and middle school and I had a lot of friends, but then when I went to high school I lose all of them and now I have no friends at all. And I really really want people to like me and want to be friends with me too...But it is what it is I guess. Trickiert 150 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 (edited) I'm not massively popular nor do i have hundreds of friends. But what I do have is a nice small group of people I like to be around. I'm pretty well Acquainted with most people my my Sixth Form though, seen as it's a small place people tend to know each other well, plus. 90% of them are genuinely cool people too. ~Chaos~ 3,967 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I'd say I never really was, but I don't give a care at all. I am who I am, and if I lived my life always trying to be popular, it wouldn't be a very enjoyable life. I am naturally more quiet and keep to myself, so having a small amount of friends in real life is just fine by me. I'd say I have most friends online, and that is great. null123456 759 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 (edited) I never was popular at my school (You either had to say SWAG and YOLO all the time, have the most recent iPhone, And make fun of everybody who isn't as superior as you) but there were a lot of other people who weren't very popular and I got along with them. I don't think I need anymore friends seeing as I have as many friends as I probably can handle But sometimes I wonder what it's like to be in the genre of 'popular'. Esk 201 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I don't think I have any friends that are truly close to me. Sure, I'm social enough, I enjoy having conversations with people, and I don't feel alone, but there's really no one I have that I've had to build a friendship with. But I'd prefer a few really close friends I can trust as opposed to so many friends that I hardly have time to get to know each of them.
Icy Wonderbolt 34 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 To me, I wish I had more friends because, I can't really share my interests with anyone else I know. I'm running for vice president at my school, but no one is voting for me. I am having a really hard time with all the schools and peoples you got to put with and I'm tired of it. Radost 76 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 (edited) Adults understand you but some of your peers don't? That's fine man, don't stress over some people you don't even knows opinion. Almost all those people you want to approach want to be talked to equally as bad and they are no different then you, they don't find it particularity easy just to straight up walk up to someone and try to become friends, and man its not easy it took me some time to develop social skills to. I think its kind of strange that you want to confront all these people and me and some of my other friends just be our self, not trying to impress anyone. You just need to be yourself, if you want to meet new people sit down at a different lunch table, meet some of your friends friends, and just being yourself. 2 good friends don't even sound that bad to be, i know people that don't have any, i got 3 really good friends and a brother and you better bet sometimes its not easy sometimes, i have allot of friends that im cool with that i know and talk to, i lost count. HunterTSN 1,444 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 (edited) I'm actually very popular IRL, in fact it can get overwhelming at times since I am part of a lot of conflicting cliques and groups. Do you have any idea how hard it is when two of your best friends either hate each other's guts or refuse to even get to know each other because the other "isn't cool enough". It honestly kind of pisses me off. Despair 114 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I've never really been popular at school or anything irl, or at least not from my knowledge. Sadly, the same goes for the Internet too. Malinter 3,064 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I'm still 'freinds' with the two I had back during high school thought looking back now, if I'd known what hermits they would turn into I'd have left them years ago. Thats all in the past now, can't change that. Still, being 'popular' is overrated. in the long run having a few real friends is far better than a dozen '5minute' ones.
