technology Have you ever dropped your mobile device?

When I used to have my phone (which was a basic phone, not a smartphone), I would drop that phone 3 or for times and it still worked.

if we were 10 years ago when phones were made out of bricks then no one would care about dropping their phones. In fact it wasn't that much of a big deal for me because I could cover the scratches with cute stickers img-1369822-1-UNZJLhS.png

But now? Jesus, dropping a phone is the worst thing that can happen to you considering how fragile they are. However there is one phone that can resist that a lot, and it's still damn powerful! the Samsung Galaxy S2, I haven't dropped this phone a lot, but when I did, Gosh I want to die, it hitted the ground so hard, luckily nothing happened to it, that phone landed on solid concrete face down, and nothing happened to it, it just has a few scratches on the corners because it's made out of cheap plastic. Yeah, I know it's an outdated phone these days, but it's still very powerful <3 and reliable.

I've dropped my Iphone quite a bit. But it has survived and there have been no tech issues at all. But all of the drops have been on the corners. It has never fallen on it's face.

Everyone who owns a phone has! That's why I see cracked screens around school. Luckily, my first iPhone hasn't cracked (got it almost a year ago)

The case is getting a bit worn, but that's the case. I drop it every once in a while accidentally. I used to crack my iPod all the time! iPod touches are really prone to it because they are soo thin.

I used to drop my Blackberry everywhere, but I didn't care because I hated it. When I got my Xperia, I only dropped it a couple of times, no major damage though.
Now I have an iPhone 4S, and I'm absolutely terrified of dropping it and breaking the glass front and back...
Never dropped a handheld console or anything though!

I've dropped almost every electronic I own. I don't mind when I drop my phone (since I hate it)  but if it's my ipod or 3ds I get that overwhelming panicky feeling.

None of them are cracked, but my 3ds has a small scratch.

Ever since then, whenever I hold them I make sure I have a tight grip.

I don't think I've ever dropped MINE but there was this one time. My cousin was going to make a Cup Song video. My other cousin handed me her IPhone when it slipped out of my hands. We were outside. It landed faced down on concrete. The screen literally looked like a spiderweb. Worst night ever.

Frequently, but luckily I have a case for it.  And insurance.  I've never actually broken or ruined a phone before, although the last one I had before my smartphone I accidentally took a pretty sizable gouge out of the screen with the headphone jack of my laptop

Edit: I actually did break my roommate's phone once on accident.  I was picking it up to hand it to him since he had just dropped it, and it slipped out of my hand as I was bringing my arm up and flew across the room and broke in a few places.  It was still functional but in rough shape.  I felt so awful

I dropped my galaxy once, during school break while i was trying to hide it (teachers hunt phone users down in schools, as well as smokers etc.). Anyway, fortunately, it was the cover that was a little scratched and nothing else was damaged.

I drop my phone often. I'm not too fond of it so a little part of me always holds out hope it will break it's usual routine of landing with the screen face up and intact. I also dropped my DS a lot, into puddles multiple times.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro (Essentially an Up-Armored S3). It's resistant to everything, I've dropped it maybe 2 dozen times now, fallen on it, and everything else. Works perfectly.

The scariest moment was when I decided to go Mountain biking, and had it loosely hanging out of the pocket on my hoodie, it fell out when I landed a big jump. The phone bounced off a rock and fell in a mud puddle. About 10 minutes later I realized my phone was missing, I walked back up the trail to see my Galaxy all covered in dirt and grime, but it still worked flawlessly, with no scratches on the screen.

Surprisingly, I have never dropped my mobile device, despite how clumsy I can be at times. I did drop my DS once while it was on and it landed so hard it turned off. Luckily it didn't break. But apart from that, nothing.

I already dropped my android more than a few times v_v thankfully, it appears to be very resilient and hasn't gotten any damage. I should really be more careful tho because I never know when it could seriously get damaged. I did almost drop it in the toilet once by accident -_-"

The real question is, who hasn't? I've dropped my phone a few times, kindle fire HD, PsP, and DS ever so often. Luckily though I'm smart enough to buy cases for these things, and I haven't dropped any in water.

I actually have never dropped my Iphone 5 for the time I've had it.  (Which has been over 8 months now.)  I'm persistently neurotic about those kind of things, which is the best step for prevention.  :P

I dropped my (non-smart) phone at the grocery store the other day and the back case flew off and so did the battery. *facepalm* It was annoying. The damn thing falls apart so easily.

Kid, when I got my first cellphone - Nokia 3210 - in 1999, I used to deliberately THROW and trash that thing around when I was pissed, and it was never once damaged in any significant way, outside of some minor scrapes on the shell.
The old Nokia phones were durable as all hell.

Over the years I've had a bunch of different models of phones and I can't even begin to tell you how much I've dropped them. I mean seriously everyone is bound to slip up at least once during the years. lol

Oh yes, most definitely. I've dropped my iPod touch 5 a couple times, face down. I'm surprised how well it's held up... The first time I dropped it was on a chipboard floor from about 3 feet up. Straight down onto its face. But it was okay! xD The second time, I had it in my shirt pocket (not an entirely great idea), and when I stood up from a couch, it flew out of my shirt pocket, hit the floor and slid across it for a bit. Face down. But it was fine!!! xD It does have a few minor scratches, though... I gotta get a screen protector... :o

My old iPod nano, I dropped from about 30ft onto a concrete factory floor, it survived, only a small dent in the scroll wheel that didn't affect it.

myHTC legend, dropped it a couple tiems, but it's builtinside an aluminum chassis and I have an Otter Box for it, and hasn't been damaged at all.

iPod touch, I've dropped and it's been through the washer and dryer twice, and has lived. my other iPod nano, has been submerged in a glass of cranberry juice and still works. none of my devices have stopped working or been seriously damaged.

I also Highly recommend an Otterbox case for your device, best case money can buy.

I very rarely drop my devices, but sometimes I get my headphone wire stuck in something and it ends in it unplugging my device.

But there was one time I dropped my Vita, and boy did I drop it! From the top of my staircase, hitting a few steps before clunking onto the ground. Thankfully the screen was fine, but it left a small dent at the bottom near the headphone jack input.
