Where's Discord?

I mean, he's not exactly hanging out at Fluttershy's house, is he?

 

So ever since Discord's "reformation" in Season 3 Episode 10, we haven't seen the master of chaos anywhere.

 

In Magical Mystery Cure we see Fluttershy's house for the first time since Episode 10, and Discord's not there. Is he chillin' with the Princesses at Canterlot? If he's "friends" with Fluttershy now, don't you think he would take the opportunity to meet her when she came to Canterlot in Episode 13? Wouldn't he have at least been at the coronation? (Or would his presence scare the other ponies?)

 

I just don't see how Celestia would let Discord run around Equestria wherever he wanted to go... You know what, I bet he's crashing with Zecora.

 

Honestly this is probably just an oversight, but I wonder if anyone has any wild theories about this...

De Lancie did yet more voice acting in S4, and he also let loose that Discord -might- be singing next season. So ten bucks says we'll be finding out what he's been up to, where he's 'living', etc, then.

 

 

As for me, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he bums at Fluttershy's. Though, I personally would prefer if he lived in Canterlot Castle and bugged Celestia all day with various antics :3

Discord is just about somewhere probably trolling Twilight 

 

 

But in all seriousness there were only 3 episodes after his reform and 2 of those episodes were basicly the same episode from 2 different points of view (games ponies play and just for sidekicks) and the finale was cramped as it is but its pretty much confirmed he will be returning in season 4.

Maybe Discord doesn't live at Canterlot. Unless that's cannon, and I'm forgetting it, maybe he's living in that one part of Equestria that nopony's been to. I mean, he doesn't have to live in Equestria, does he?

Last I heard, he had to go back to the Continuum for a family reunion. I'm pretty sure he has some catching up to do with his cousins, what with having been a garden gnome for 1,000+ years and all that jazz.

My guess is that he isn't really staying anywhere. He's just hanging out between Canterlot and Ponyville, being his usual troll-y self and pulling reality-altering pranks that destroy the line between good and bad taste.

 

I can't really see Discord boarding anywhere except to annoy the hell out of whoever his roommate is.

I think it could be one of three things. One, he could be monitoring some distant end of Equestria, checking for danger that only he can sense.

Two, he's flashing all over Equestria, trolling ponies to his heart's desire. With some self-control, of course.

Or thirdly, he just goes back and forth between Ponyville and Canterlot. (Still trolling ponies happily)

I think the reason we didn't see him in the last three episodes were because, A, Ep. 11 and 12 were the same time, just different perspective and B, because Ep. 13 was really crowded anyway. I do think it was kinda mean that no one invited Discord to the coronation though. But then again, that kinda gives support to the first theory I said...

 

Well, whatever the reason he wasn't in the last few episodes, he needs have a lot of stuff in the fourth season! I saw that panel where John de Lancie hinted at a Discord song, so I CAN'T WAIT for that!!! Oh, and he need some background shots. Just randomly! Even in episodes where he's not a main character, he could just be in the background trolling the townspeople and creating some hilarious lolz!

I think Discord will definitely be appearing again in Season 4, but maybe he is just lurking around Canterlot Castle just to mess around with the princesses especially Celestia and Twilight. His antics will definitely include an exploding birthday cake.

Well in Magical Mystery Cure, it was not Fluttershys house, it was Rainbow Dash's house.

 

Most likely Discord is living at the castle with Celestia and Luna or he set up a house somewhere in Ponyville.

Unless it's for some silly comedy. Because I think I'm done with him. I'd rather see new characters or see some resolution to other characters, like Gilda. I mean, Trixie got a "redemption", why not Gilda?

 

I still think that he'd be better off as a stone statue rather than "not a villain". Whatever he is now.

 

But if I had to bet, I'd say he's living at Canterlot now.

My guess is that he's living in Canterlot but that he often go on missions for Celestia. After all, he's supposed to use his powers for good, now. Maybe that in Magical Mystery Cure, he was doing a mission in a parallel dimension or something like that... I'm also pretty sure that he'll be back in season 4 and that he'll have a song.

Or other places a 3-dimensional being should not be able to physically be.

Conventional homes, beds, etc. just aren't suited for his nature.

But now that he has, I'm interested as to wether or not the writers have some epic thing they need him to help with. This could be salvageable.

It's not even that I didn't like his reform. He is just too powerful to do anything on the "good side". Whatever happens, unless he is somehow incapacitated (which on itself is a stretch, unless he is not nearly as powerful as we think), it is going to be unbelievably stupid: there's a big problem that the ponies can't solve (thus "Celestia has uses for his magic"), Discord solves the problem. BAM. All other characters are useless, because anything they can do, he can do better.

 

Can it still work? I guess so: make him a villain again.

Given that he is, at least from our perspective, an omnipotent creature with the ability to (at least implied) transverse multiple dimensions, Discord most likely has a dimension of his own to tend to. Reasoning? From Faust's conception alone it can be determined that his "powers" could rival that of a Q's.

That's my main problem with him in the first place. With powers like he has, he should never have been defeated in the first place. Why did he not teleport to the other side of Equestria as soon as he was unfrozen? Better still, why not just teleport the mane 6 across Equestria? Heck, why allow yourself to be frozen by the Elements of Harmony when you know they work on you because they did 1000 years ago when Celestia and Luna used them on you?

 

I just get the feeling Discord's pretty stupid.

He's probably hopping around the galaxy, bugging some old bald guy in a spaceship. The dude needs to return in Season 4, though. I refuse to see the last of him until we get a mariachi band.

I like to think he's just bouncing about somewhere outside of Equestria's borders, causing some (controlled) chaos, and pretty much having a good time. Maybe he pops back to ponyville every now-and-then to see Fluttershy, who knows?

Well there hasn't really been an opportunity to bring him back yet, we had a Discord episode not that long ago and the rest of season 3 was developing Twilight so we'll probably see him back in Season 4.
