Ooh, I like how they switched up the starters. Kanto Starters for the win! Anyways, I'm guessing that we'll get one of the three "starters" (Chespin, Froakie, or Fennekin) after the elite 4 as a gift? Kind of like how the other games have done it?

 

About the mega evolutions...let's see. Mega- Venasaur doesn't look too different...the design is still decent though. Mega-Charizard...Sweet Jegus, it's beautiful!! Mega-Blastoise looks okay, I suppose. Anyways, now I'm even more excited for these games.

NO you get the Kalos starters at the beginning of the game from a friend, then you go see the professor and he gives you a Kanto starter, so you get two starters. Plus there's that free Torchic, so you can get three starters before you hit the first gym XD

But seriously guys, if Mega Charizard had it's tail flame taken way and was recolored, it could definitely be it's own pokemon.

 

Venusaur looks like no different and (although its cool) the massive cannon they have strapped to Blastoise back looks a little bit OTT (maybe hell have a move like "Water artillery barrage") and I totally agree, that Charazard looks more like a new pokemon then an evolution !

I hope that this new mechanic doesn't change the game to much. Initially had me excited but I'm not really sure its necessary (al thought I wont judge till I have played the game , as it looks like it will be important to the plot in a big way?)

Man, that  is really really weird. Not saying that's bad, but I can't believe they're going back to the original. I'm not sure if I really like that idea. I was thinking it was going to be the other way around with your friend giving you a Kanto starter. Now I'm really interested why another region has the same starters as another, there has to be a good reason.

 

I really look forward to more news from this game. I'm so stoked for it.

More secrets about Mega Evolution were also revealed today. It was previously announced that certain Pokémon needed to hold a unique Mega Stone in order to Mega Evolve, but now it's known that there is a second requirement players must fulfill for Mega Evolution to occur. Trainers must also obtain a bracelet called the Mega Ring that holds a mysterious stone called a Key Stone. The Trainer's Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone held by his or her Pokémon, and together they trigger the Evolution that is normally impossible—Mega Evolution.

 

As for how it works in battle: "A command appears in addition to the possible attacks for that pokemon; click it and boom, mega evolution. Looks online viable to me. Here's the link to the video where I saw it Possible Spoilers: link". Oh, and it's strictly an in battle thing and the pokemon that mega evolved gets some stat boosts along with a changed ability. That's the gist of it.

 

I have no idea whether or not a demo will be available on the eshop though.

I can't wait until this comes out, more importantly; I can't wait until I get my Limited Edition Red Pokemon XL 3DS. I recently had my old 3DS stolen, so I am in dire need of an upgrade. And I couldn't have a better reason to  snag one of those. It's already pre-ordered, and only time remains...

 

But the Japanese gold one is sooooooooo nice! I am so jelly T.T

I dunno if there will be one, i have to say i'm inclined to say no frankly, seeing as previous games didn't include a demo, but then again theres a demo for pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity so idk.

 

I don't think pokemon is incredibly hard to get into really, i mean i've been playing it since i was like 5-6 i guess? So yeah ;p.

 

And the mega evolutions are going to be done via a command in the menu screen during battle once you obtain an item in game, and have your pokemon hold a mega stone, atleast thats what i get from this whole thing.

I really wish I can get a 3DS for the game.. xc I'm really tight on money right now; all I can afford is the game itself but not the 3DS.

:/, that sucks, thats why i hate being tight on money, and also why i tend to not spend mine if i can avoid so ;p.

 

I did spend maybe a bit of the money i had aside for my computer buying my 3DS, but its fine since i haven't done much about buying that anyways ;p.

 

Besides X and Y i probaly won't be buying any other 3DS games (Besides luigi's mansion which i have) until after Christmas.

 

I hope you can get the money saved to buy a 3DS and the game soon though!

Oops, my bad. It was with the images of the Kalos starters, and I haven't watched the anime in a while, so yeah.... I'll probably be watching the XY Preview though, just to see what Pokemon Ash ends up getting. I kinda hope he gets Chespin, but who knows?

 

I do like Ash's new design though. I never understood why he got so much hate, I like him.

I've seen that before, and I guess it makes sense.

 

Except that in the pic I posted his mouth is closed and he still looks older, so I doubt it's that.

I'm interested in the new anime possibly, i've been watching the anime more recently, i'm on like episode 180ish or something though. I've heard the Black and white anime is good though, The Kanto and johto series's so far aren't bad. Atleast to me. Of course there is an intimidating number of episodes ;p.

 

hopefully the anime will be decent, of course i'm a bit more excited for pokemon Origins.

 

the movie might be exciting aswell.

 

And of course i'm pumped for the actual X and Y games ;p.

Nah, I'm not really interested in the anime. I haven't liked the anime since the Kanto episodes really. I've seen a few episodes here and there of the other seasons and regions but it just doesn't hook me.

I'm really excited for those!  The feature that really stood out to me though is the multi-language feature. I mean you can choose between English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese and Korean.  Which makes me think, I'm tired of playing in English (I played it in English before I could even understand English, or read for that matter).  I'll probably put it in Italian since it's a beautiful language and it's easy to learn for me.  Also, they kept the English names for the Pokemon.  I could play it in French since it's my native language (and the region is based on France) but the translation makes me cringe.

 

Also, I'm planning to buy a Flame Red 3ds and sell my Aqua Blue to my brother.  I always wanted to play pokemon on a red console :3

It just discourages people from going out and finding new Pokemon if they already have 2 major types covered in the beginning, not to mention that Kanto starters are insanely powerful even without mega evolutions. I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I am one excited little trainerguy.

Because Ash is literally one of the worst trainers on the face of the planet. He consistently loses over and over again, only to win against gym leaders by some lucky strike. He's also pretty annoying and childish most of the time. Still, gotta love him

I don't think it's going to be doing all that much discouraging, though. It's only two pokemon so you're still going to have to go catch more to round out your team and the early pokemon that you might be able skip out on now probably isn't all that interesting anyway. The most I ever really used those really early pokemon for is as meat shields to heal up my starter during a gym battle; they were soon replaced with pokemon I found later on. I kind of expect the same thing to happen here. Plus, there will be people who just want to catch all the new pokemon anyway; I know I will. 

 

And maybe it's just me, but I rarely ever finish the main story with my starter still being a part of my  main team. In fact, bulbasaur was the only starter that made it all the way (finishing as venesaur, of course). My starters rarely make it past the 2nd evolution...

To be fair though, whether or not the Kanto starters are strong or not is kind of a moot point as people default to the strong pokemon/legendaries anyways. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Haxorus, Dragonite, and Cloyster in online play due to how strong they are.

 

I feel the Kanto pokemon are more of a fanservice rout than a pokemon power trip rout. Everybody loves themselves a Charizard. But I do not like the 2 starter idea personally either. I would much rather having them as an optional reward, like the Shiny Gible, or Shiny Dratini from B2/W2.
