Now this was brought up by a friend of mine during a conversation we shared. What if there was an episode where two ponies swapped minds for a day or so? Where to two would have to experience the life of the pony they swapped minds with. For example, say Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash were to be the two ponies in this situation. Scootaloo would finally be able to feel the wonders of flying (This is assuming the theory in which Scootaloo is handicapped and cannot fly). While at the same time, Rainbow Dash would learn what hardships Scootaloo faced being a pegasus who has trouble with flying, a problem Rainbow Dash never faced when she was Scootaloo's age. Therefore, each would learn to empathize with each other, or make them appreciate what gifts that they have.

 

Now this is all just a example, if anyone else has an idea of what ponies could also be put in this situation I'd love to hear.

I thought the episode Magical Mystery Cure was pretty close the a body/mind swap episode. They didn't swap bodies, minds or anything, but they exchanged cutie marks which basically made them trade each others lives. It was pretty interesting to see, plus it lead to a catchy group song ^.^

As for me I think it would be a pretty good episode if the 6 or who ever switched bodes for a day. It would be funny if Twilight and Pinkie Pie switched minds.

 

As for the episode idea about RD and Scootaloo, it could work. I feel like Scootaloo would have a hard time getting used to it seeing as she never done it, but it could still work.

I do see what you mean, but that episode felt only like a trial for Twilight, and none of the other mane 6 seemed to have a change of character. It only felt like it was Twilight having to solve a rather simple puzzle.

The entertainment in body swap episodes (for me) comes from the bodies being significantly differ, whether in sex or height or whatever. All the ponies are physically alike save for cosmetic differences. Now, if Pinkie Pie switched with Celestia...That's a great time!

I actually think this could be quite an interesting episode idea.

I guess we had Magical Mystery cure, which swapped cutie marks, but not bodies.

 

I can totally see Twilight mixing up some two ponies bodies. Scootaloo and Rainbow could work, along with the other sister pairs, or even two of the ponies, or even all the mane 6.

 

I could see it being a cool episode though, i'm kinda hoping for something like this now.

Very science fiction-y. I love this idea, but that's only because I love all topics like this. I doubt it will actually happen, as Magical Mystery Cure did something very similar. Still, I love the idea!
