What would have happened to the mane 6 if the Sonic Rainboom never happened?

Well you pretty much get the answer to this question when Starlight Glimmer goes back in time to stop the Rainboom in the season 5 finale

Gotta agree with @NathanW200, we did pretty much get the answer to this question back at the end of season 5. Equestria was basically completely destroyed in the final reality Twilight and Starlight traveled to. In every other reality Twilight traveled to Equestria still existed but it was a twisted dark version of the normal reality. The mane 6 were all seen in at least one reality or another, and their lives without each other becoming friends wasn't a good one.

Well, I hope the rain boom was responsible for sunset running off because otherwise equestria would be boned the second Nightmare got back. No rain boom, no twilight getting her mark, twilight not becoming sunbutt's protege, no getting sent to pony vile and you can see the dominoes from there.
