Truthfully, I tend to confuse a lot of people with my gender online quite often. Due to me exuding a feminine personality a lot, not to mention using female avis along images, I can fool most people. There have even been a few who could see past it, though those people are few and far between. If anyone here calls me a 'she' on accident, no worries. I am not offended. I'd be rather flattered and... kinda blushy...

On the forums, yes at times because my name had Maud Pie in it therefore, some members called me Maud. In real life, never.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Though my personality here and IRL is more feminine, I don't believe I've ever been mistaken for a girl before. If I let my hair grow any longer though, who knows... X3

Never on the forums, though once in real life.

Although i'm somewhat tall, i have a rather slender build. That, my clean-shave and a long-grown hair made me look somewhat like a girl and some old woman mistook me for one... yeah, was kind of weird but it only happened once. >_>

No,I've made it very clear that I am a guy.

However,I was mistaken for a girl one time when I was playing Black Ops.

That was awkward.

I've never been confused for the opposite gender online, at least to my knowledge. IRL I've been a cashier for a few years and occasionally a customer comes through my line not paying attention and says ma'am or miss. Actually had it happen a couple days ago. A woman called me miss and caught herself, said sir, and apologized. Told her it was okay, it happens occasionally, and said most people don't even bother apologizing. Her response? "Well you look like a girl anyways." Which was very confusing because A: I don't, and B: I had a face full of stubble because I hadn't shaved for a couple days

I've never been mistaken for a female online, but many people assume that everyone on the internet is male, unfortunately. On this forum I make sure to check a user's profile before referring to them with gender-specific pronouns.

I have never been mistaken for a female in real life because I have short hair and a flat chest.

Well, about 2 or 3 years ago I had hair that almost went down to my shoulders, so I was accidentally called a girl a few times.

Not on the forums, I haven't, yet. However, I have been mistaken for a female on the phone or on the microphone. It's because my throat is seemingly perpetually dry.

In person, yes.  I got complimented for being a pretty little girl; though I was actually a boy.  Later on, as a probably-preteen with longish hair and some extra weight, I was mistaken for a female.  Partly because bumpy reasons.

  • 1 month later...

Although I feel like I act more feminine than masculine (both online and IRL), I have never been mistaken for a female.

On the forums, I do tend to get my gender mistaken. Although I do think it's justifiable, as the majority of users here are male. Plus most of my other interests are sort of masculine. But it probably wont be an issue now that I've publicly revealed my gender on my profile.

As in real life, it has never happened. It's easy to recognise that I'm female, given how I look overall.

I don't remember anyone stating they believed I'm a girl online, though I'm sure at least a few people who have observed me on online media and lacked knowledge of me perceived me as female. IRL, I've been mistaken for a girl several times that I know of, probably because of the extremely colorful crossdressing and long hair. I had one old man some months back state he was heterosexual but actually found me sexually attractive.

*giggles mischievously* I get a thrill whenever someone mistakes me for a female, or is uncharacteristically attracted. I've actually gone as far as laser hair removal to feminize my appearance, though I don't want to actually transition to a female. I just love being an androgynous flamer femboi. Of course, my fursona's even more of a rampant and shameless femboi than I am IRL (and a lot cuter).

On the forums? Oddly enough no. However, in real life, yes, and it's so strange because naturally my voice can sound somewhat deep...at least to my ears. However when on the phone or the drive-thru microphone I have constantly been mistaken for a female.

Hell, a few males flirted with me.

I never really stop to think about it. Concerning yourself with gender on the Internet is a bit like concerning yourself with gluten-free products at the supermarket.

Heh, that's the great thing about being intersex. You technically CAN'T be mistaken for the wrong gender :muffins:

You can't be mistaken for the right one either. :(

I have never been mistaken for a girl, but my big sister is mistaken for a boy almost daily. It's pretty funny at times... :3
