Would there be a limit in a Pony's trust in Celestia?

Sorry for another TCB thread.

 

Would there be a limit in Pony's trust in Celestia? As in like non canon Celestia does something downright evil such as kill an innocent Pony for no reason another than for fun, or invade another universe and attempt to commit genocide (Like in The Conversion Bureau fan fictions) on the Human race, because she thinks all Humans are evil.

 

Would the Ponies not under mind control question her actions at first and then outright turn against her from viewing what she's doing is evil?

 

Or would they blindly obey and not question her at all since she is a godess, in a hive like mind like the Borg? 

 

I think if the Ponies are truly sapient canon like Ponies and they would find what Celestia is doing is horrible, they would turn against her.  Of course this means some would agree with Celestia too.

Shouldn't there be a third option of, blindly following because it was their job?  I don't want to cause tension when I say this, but I ask this question because it reminds me of one thing I learned about the Holocaust.  Many of those who committed these murders in the concentration camps were asked in court why they went through with these horrendous acts.  They responded saying, "I was only doing what I was told."

 

Maybe I am just looking at your question the wrong way, but there is no harm in me bringing this up, is there?

I think the ponies would turn against Celestia if she actually did something that is literally downright evil. While, the ponies who can't think for themselves would blindly follow Celestia's every command.

I'm sure that everypony loved Princess Luna, before she went crazy. It didn't take anypony long to figure out that what she was doing was wrong, and they all turned against her.

Like Scootalove said, there would be mixed reactions. A lot would revolt, and a lot would follow her blindly, either because they don't know any better or because they're told to. It's hard to say how many would react in one of these ways accurately tho, but it makes sense because ponies aren't all perfectly moral beings and have been shown to have issues which are very human. That said, I doubt Celestia would ever do anything downright evil.
