I chose Neptune cuz it was like named after the Roman god of the sea and shit.

I used to be super fascinated with space, but I never paid much attention to our solar system.

I've always loved Mars. It's always been awesome in my opinion, and quite interesting. Besides, it is such a nice shade of red, and reminds me of fire.

Besides, Sailor Mars is also best Sailor Scout, so..Yeah. Best planet. :v

Mercury has always been my personal favorite, without a doubt :D

Mercury_Globe-MESSENGER_mosaic_centered_I discovered this planet in 3rd grade; it was free time, where it was basically indoors recess, and I had just moved into that school a week or two before. I was shy, and, as a result, didn't have anyone to play with. So, I picked up this book about planets and started reading it everyday; I always found Mercury to be the most fascinating.

It's a scalding hit planet that is closest to the sun, and has the shortest orbit of any of the planets in our solar system as a result. It's namesake was Mercury, who I believe was essentially a messenger boy for the gods; it has a grand total of 0 moons, because, let's face it; moons are too mainstream.

There's a few above and beyond favorites I have; favorite pony, favorite sport, favorite guitar brand, favorite bird, and favorite planet :D Everything else has always been pretty fair game with me.

I guess it's probably Neptune since I was find if its color when I was young and it's wayyy out in the depths of space. Then again, I named one of my accounts somewhere Saturn2.0; sounds better than Neptune2.0.

Pluto (even though it isn't a planet anymore).

Why? Well, the name is cool (I considered having Pluto as my username on these forums at one point) and it's the most distant planet so it must be the coldest which I've always liked Winter.

The artist renditions are pretty cool too

I'm at a tie between the planet's Mars and Jupiter, but I would choose Jupiter if I only have to choose one.

Why I like Mars:

-Interestingly, a planet that once was like Earth

-Home to the tallest mountain in the solar system, Olympus Mons.

-The song by Composer Gustav Holst is one of my favourite pieces of classical music.

-The mystery of the Great Stone Face of Mars.

Why I like Jupiter:

-Largest planet in the Solar System

-The collision of Comet Shoemaker Levy 9 was an interesting event for Jupiter back in 1994

-Home to one of my favourite moons in the Solar System, Europa. Known to possibly have a sub-surface ocean below it's icy surface.

My other favourite moons include Titan and Mimas, which are both moons of Saturn. Titan has an atmosphere, and Mimas has a very large crater, that makes it resemble the Death Star from Star Wars.

Mars... It's just an interesting planet.

It has the largest volcanic mountain known to date, and it's my favorite color. Also, it is the second most habitable, behind Earth, this one. It also still has some life. No really. Bacteria grows on Mars. But we can't.

Fictional: that honor goes to my own made fictional planet, called Felinos, simply because it's primary inhabitants are cat-like humanoids. It has different elements that don't naturally occur in this universe. Like a certain green-ish metal that beats titanium in toughness and lightweight-ness.

Mars, for one reason: We can terraform it! The technology already exists to give it a warm, breathable atmosphere. In 200 years we can make a 2nd earth right here in our own solar system.

In this solar system, Venus. It's the hottest in the solar system.

Out side of the solar system, planets like

HD 189773b: Where it's constantly raining shards of glass at Mach 5

Gliese 436 b: Where it is a frozen ball of ice that's on fire

And can't forget Gliese 581 c. That place has black plants and red skys. It is a hellish nightmare world.

etc etc.

Jupiter is fucking HUGE. It fits into the sun about four times. The big red spot is as big as Earth itself.

While Jupiter and Saturn look cool, my favorite planet would be Mars.

Why? Because it looks interesting and lots of research has been done on it. Also, it's interesting how much people compare it to Earth and even consider visiting it. When I was in elementary school, we went to Chabot Space and Learning Center and did a Mission To Mars simulator. I was a bit scared of it since I was young but looking back, I thought it was cool.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I have three answers:

1. Mars - Because of potential study and relative ease of access.

2. Venus - Earth's so-called sister, I find it fascinating that we have probes landed.

3. The newest one we discover. ;)

My instant reaction to this question was Neptune. Neptune was my favourite when I was younger and it remains so today. I love the name and colour in particular.
