I can't use links in my "about me"

I've tried for a couple days now and tried getting help from other members but with no fix in the problem I decided to take it over to here. My problem is that I can't use links in my about me thing. I usually have a soundcloud music but it won't show and when I try to link something on there it looks fine when I'm editing it but won't work when I press "done" and go to my profile. Everything, even images, turns into text when I'm done. Like I said before everything looks fine when I'm editing it but its when I'm done with it and go to look at my profile everything is text again. I've tried lots of stuff and I ran out of ideas.

I think i had the same issue with images one time myself, and i never really found out why, i just removed the images ;p.

Look at the damn thing. You will see that the BBCode is messed up. I've told her to write the BBCode manually, but she said it didn't fix it. I've even asked her to rewrite everything, and no success.

 

Miss Lauren here said she accidentally deleted her About Me page, and used a particular website to restore it. I think the problem comes from here. Maybe it's pasted as a plain text, but If it is, then why do the colours work?

 

Can you click on the BBCode mode (top left) on the text editor while you're editing the page, take a screenshot, and post it here, Lauren? I don't remember you've done this step.

If you look closely, you will find that the url is messed up. There's an addition before the actual link in the url tag. This part, for example:

[img=http://web.archive.org/web/20130806202616im_/https://mlpforums-feld0.netdna-ssl.com//public/style_emoticons/mlp/smile.png]

The first url (the http) is probably given by the website you used to restore your page, Miss Lauren. The real usable url is the thing after https://mlpforums bla bla bla.

 

The rest are the same. The website you used to restore the page added its own link to your links, and it breaks the code, since the url becomes invalid that way. The url might be added by the website as a way to store the original url. You know, as a thing to look up (a kind of index) when the system wants to restore it.

 

To solve it, remove those urls the website gave. You can either do that or retype the tag and url manually, like:

[img=https://mlpforums-feld0.netdna-ssl.com//public/style_emoticons/mlp/smile.png]

Just ask the staff to do that, if you don't know how. It's their job, not yours or mine.

I just successfully placed an image in my profile by typing the [ img ] [ /img ] tags manually (without the spaces). (I have removed the image - I only added it for testing purposes). So, I doubt there is a technical issue with the site that is preventing you from using images in your profile.

It doesn't work that way Sky. We don't have those abilities. If it's a purely technical problem that she can't fix, then it goes to a support ticket. Otherwise, we can help.
